I love cheerleaders.
That's unreal! I did (what I thought) was a good bit of jump roping back in high school during wrestling season and was (what I thought) pretty good! The longest I ever remember going without a break was 2 minutes straight. To go that long and that intense....... WOW!

Another lunchtime outing (with pic)
Trust me Avid, I know exactly what you're talking about with the one last cast! As long as I don't abuse it, my boss doesn't mind me showing up a little late, once in a while. But is sure is hard leaving a spot that's hot!

What line do you use for flippin/pitchin?
It depends on what I'm flippin and pitchin and how heavy the cover is. If cover is light I am use my worm rod that I have spooled up with 14# Sufix Siege. I've also pitch my spinnerbaits in certain situations. I have my spinnerbait rod spooled with 17# Sufix Siege. My two true flippin sticks I have spool up with 20# Sufix Elite on the one and 50# Sufix braid. I have used 20# fluro in the past flippin and pitchin with no problems. As far as the braid cutting into the guides, I have a BPS Tourney Special spinning rod that I have spooled up with 20# Sufix braid. I've been using this setup for about 3 years now. Several times a year, I take a cotton swab on each guide to make sure there are no issues. I haven't found any cuts in the guides yet. I've heard that cheaper rods (not that the Tourney Special is expensive) that are prone to guide damage by braid. Hope that helps!

New to the site!
Welcome to THE boards CHRGD! There are several members on here that probably aren't too far from you. What part of SC PA are you in exactly? I'm originally from Juniata county and still fish several bodies of water above the mason dixon line!

Reel oils
Hey hawgchaser, My reasoning for not liking Hot Sauce is on both ends of the temperature range. In Cold weather (somewhere around 40 degrees and lower), it gummed up on me and the reels did not feel any where near as smooth as they do at room temperature. In Hot weather (about 90 degrees or warmer), I found it to thin out to the tip where the reel would scream on a handful of casts. I also found that it wouldn't matter if I cleaned and lubed the reels the night before an outing. Maybe, I just ran into a bad batch, I can't say for sure there but that's my experience with it. Since I made the switch, I haven't experienced this with the Reel Butter.

Sufix performance braid or power pro
I've been using Sufix now for several years now and love it! Mostly started using it because its more available to me. If I'd have to go to another braid, it would be Power Pro. Can't go wrong with either, IMO.

Top Water & Spinnerbait Rod's
My spinnerbait setup is a 7' MH power with a soft tip. I'll use this rod for buzzbaits as well. My top water rod for baits with trebles is a 6'6" M with a mod/fast tip.

Another lunchtime outing (with pic)
Thanks. Now keep in mind, that I use my lunch hour to fish instead of eat! Like I said, its literally a 10 minute drive to the lake so it leaves me about 40 minutes to wet the lines. A couple years back, my manager at that time fished as well and would come along on rare occassions. Got to get an "extended lunch" on those days. The rough part is having to leave when I put a good pattern together early! :-/ Dink whisperer, that would drive me nuts not to be able to fish there! Depressing indeed!!!

Quantum Energy PT Casting Rods
I just picked up 2 Energy PT rods a few weeks back. One is the 7' MHF and the other is the 7'6" HF, flippin stick. I've been very impressed with them so far (although I will admit, I've spent 90% of my time between these 2 rods with the MHF). Plenty of backbone and I've found them to be pretty sensitive (at least for me). The flippin stick does seem a little tip heavy though. In my book, they are definitely worth the money! Rods are a personal preference, what feels great to one person, may not to another. My advice would be to go check them out, as well as any others in your price range, and decide for yourself. Only you know exactly what you like!

Reel oils
Ardent Reel Butter for me. I tried "Death sauce" as Raul called it and absolutely hated it. Shimano's is good as well. Haven't tried the others.

Best Monofilament???

Maryland's Who's who!
What? No picture Allen? That's a good one for sure! What's your biggest out of Greenbrier? I've seen survey reports of 7 and 8 pounders in there but haven't had any success finding the big ones in there yet. Caught a 19 1/2" 4lb 4oz largemouth at Black Hills in the drizzle yesterday at lunch. I backed it up with 2 more smaller chunks after work. The spinnerbait bite is turning on there! Can't wait to get my truck back so I can get the boat out!!! I'm itching to hit Big Pool sometime soon!!!!

your number one bass catching bait!?!?! (lure you caught the most bass on all time)
I wish I would have kept a log starting back when I was a kid! I know I've caught a ton of smallies growing up on the Rebel Humpback series! My bet is that bait would take the number 1 spot for me but the records I do have would say spinnerbait! My top spinnerbait would be a 3/8oz double willow leaf (gold & silver) in white/black scale.

Line for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits
I like 17# Sufix Siege for most of my spinnerbaits (1/8 to 5/8oz). If I'm throwing 3/4oz or bigger, I'll go heavier. If the cover is light, I'll use 14# Sufix Siege and obviously, if the cover is heavier, I'll up the pound test there as well. I've never used Big Game for either applications but when I did throw Berkley lines, I used Trilene XT in 14, 17 and 20#. Hope that helps!

Another lunchtime outing (with pic)
After looking at the weather report last evening, I decided to bring some gear to work with me today for a lunchtime adventure. As I got to the lake, it was pretty drery looking, overcast, raining on & off and the water looked stained at best but I decided to wet some line (forgot my rain gear! ooops!) anynways. I decided to see how active the bite was going to be so I decided to slow roll a spinnerbait around the trees and laydowns. Well my decision paid off! with about 10 minutes to go before I had to head back to work, I managed a decent 19 1/2" 4lb 4oz toad! Here's a pic of her.

Deep Creek Lake question
Hey Brian, While I haven't fished there, I am 90% sure there's an unlimited horsepower rating on the lake so there's the potential for the big cruisers and all being out on the lake. If that's the case, I'd be very cautious! I've almost been thrown out of my boat at dam 4 before because of some IDIOT decided to fly past me at MACH 7. Hopefully, that's not the case out there and you get some responses from some that have experienced being out there.

Need help identifying this crankbait
Judging from the color pattern, it looks like an FLW series crankbait that Wal Mart used to carry. If memory serves me right, Strike King did produce the crankbait.

Palamar Question
Welcome to THE boards ColtDewd! When I tie the palomar knot, I always keep the loop and the tag end above the eyelet and do not have any issues with knot failure (on mono, braid and fluro).
