My biggest pet peeve with any of the new trucks is the electronic acceleration and traction control. While I love the electronic locking rear differential on my Ford, I'd also like to jam on the pedal and get instant acceleration rather than a hesitation while the computer "thinks" about it's next move. In the Tundra, I would turn off the traction control in the rain because I had no control over what I wanted to do.

Honestly, the Tundra doesn't need tuning. I had a 5.7 for 10 years and that puppy moved. TRD offers a dealer installed supercharger that doesn't void warranty that adds I think 115hp to the stock 385hp

The acceleration of the 5.7 Tundra would put a stock Chevy to shame. I've owned 3 Dodge trucks, 2 Fords, and a Toyota Tundra. I've driven both Ford and Chevy 3500 series vans for work. My biggest issue with GM is a slew of electrical problems. Biggest issue with Ford is cabin ergonomics. Biggest problem with Toyota is you get much less truck for the money than the big 3. Lastly, I'll never buy another Dodge. The only Dodge I had any luck with was a stripped down 5 speed 2WD (I bought used). I had one with a slew of electrical issues and another that I blew the trans with 43K on the odometer and that was after the I blew the power steering, and had electrical issues. I'll be out of the 36K bumper to bumper warranty on my F250 in the next month or so. This is the only truck that I haven't had warranty issues with from the get go.(knock on wood) (My 84 Bronco and 97 Dodge don't count because they were both bought used)

Took my first dose of cbd oil today. Tastes like stale olive oil. We'll see if it helps with arthritis.

I think too much time and money is spent on fishing and not enough time and money spent on...fishing. Time to roll it back. I brought up my grandson in an earlier post. He'll fish for hours and his only distractions are wildlife. Yesterday he was shaking the dirt off the nightcrawlers, before we put them on the hook, so the bluegills wouldn't have to eat dirty worms. He walked knee deep in the lake to release the fish. That's what it's all about. Seriously. You all are catching fish to let them go. Think about it. I've got a wall of skin mount personal bests, and none of that compares to the joy I see in my grandsons eyes when he catches a 4" bluegill. Yesterday I had 2 spincast 2 foot rods going at the same time. Cast one out, set the hook and let him reel it in while I got the other rod baited up and cast out, set the hook and let him reel it in while I unhook the fish, he shows momma the fish he caught, releases it and reels in the next one and rebait the first rod...repeat. I was more disappointed in momma because she was texting on the phone the whole time we were fishing, but that's another story. I formed bonds with my father fishing. With my grandfather. With my son. Now, with my grandson. Screw the fish, I can buy them at the grocery store if need be. Fishing is not about the fish. It's about us as humans. It's about chasing dreams and leaving legacy's. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars chasing a fish with a brain the size of a pea. Who's the idiot?

The times they are a changin' and as the old saying goes, Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I've lived and/or worked in and around Chicago for 50 years. I've been around guns for 46 of my 50 years. I was robbed at gunpoint once in my early 20's, which would have been the early 90's, at a business I managed. I've been accused of being a cop because I was in "bad" neighborhoods and have been profiled by cops because I was in neighborhoods I shouldn't have been in. Life is different than 25 years ago. Drug addiction and mental illness is more rampant and gets ignored. State and county run institutions no longer exist for the mentally ill and the drugs are more potent, and easier to get a hold of. I will refrain from commenting on policing because of current events, but those of you who grew up "back in my day" know that policing was conducted differently. I currently live in Crook County IL, 20 minutes west of Chicago and under the same gun restrictions. I cannot legally enter a Crook County forest preserve with a sidearm. I take my grandson fishing in a county immediately south of me which I can legally enter with a sidearm. My home water is in Lake County which is just north of Crook County and I launch my boat at the American Legion ramp which shares the parking lot with the Lake County Police Marine unit. I'm just too old for the bullspit and being disabled for 8 years now has really brought some light on what I cannot physically do. My son jokes with me because my tolerance for bullspit gets lower every year. On occasion I may or may not get in heated discussions with idiots on the lake who tend to be drunk, ignorant, or both. My son tells me to chill out because he doesn't want to have to defend me. LOL Now I sound like a grumpy old man and that couldn't be further from the truth. My dad is the grumpy old man I aspire to be. True story. A couple years ago dad and I were bluegill fishing in front of some guys dock. Old guy started with his grandkids swim there and he doesn't want them to get hooks in their feet. I told him not to worry, I won't break off if I get hung up and would just motor over to dislodge the hook. He then said "you don't own property on the lake do you?" I told him no but I paid the ramp fees and if he has an issue to take it up with the ramp owner. He started yelling at me and I told him to call the police if he had a problem with me fishing in front of his dock. He then went up to his shed and started mulling around the shed walking in and out and in and out. I've been peppered with warning shots above my head on that lake before because I got too close to the duck blinds, and I didn't know if he was capable of doing anything or not. Dad hadn't said a word this entire time. We continued to fish for gills until the bite died down. We moved on. Fished about another hour until the bite shut off. On the way back in dad told me to slow down, he's going to tick in front of this guys dock where his grandchildren swim. Now, dad is currently 80 and has horrible arthritis and has difficulty standing in the boat. I have a plastic urinal in the boat because he doesn't need to be falling in the lake when relieving himself, which happens quite a bit because of his enlarged prostate. He pees in the urinal and dumps in in front of the guys dock. He's the guy I aspire to be. Like a fart. Silent but deadly. LOL

I have a 3yo grandson who'll fish all day long without batting an eye. Full of enthusiasm. Me on the other hand...some say I'm full of...

2 strokes can run forever if they are taken care of. I'd imagine parts will be available for awhile. I think I'd be more concerned if it were an Etec because of the electronics.

If you've never been out on a large body of water, it's very intimidating if you don't have the right vessel to handle mother nature. I was a mile out on Lake Michigan a 26' ProLine walk around and was in fear for my life. I was heading in and misjudged the timing of the storm. Scariest mile of my life. 8-10ft waves in a small vessel sucks. Those kids are fortunate they are alive.

I know for the 2 strokes mercury would use the same block and the motors were tuned different. Guys on another site would talk about buying a 75hp and have the CPU flashed to a 115hp to save a few grand in motor cost. I imagine its something similar. I also imagine it would void warranty.

I got my CCW in IL exactly 90 days. My guess is they hadn't even done the background check, but put it thru because it says 90 days for the application process. The Governor stole $30 million from the fund which is used to pay for the checks and is being sued by the ISRA. I can protect myself and my home because of the castle doctrine. In public, I cannot protect property, only human life. Brandishing a weapon is considered use of lethal force, but if someone accidentally sees the weapon I cannot be charged as long as I have my ccw card in my wallet. There is a huge list of places in IL where it is illegal to carry, most of them are in Crook County.

Lots of boats and travel trailers have been sold this year because of the lockdowns. When people see how much money and work is involved with "toy" ownership, the used market will be flooded. My money says next fall there will be a ton of lightly used boats for sale.

I'll just start up Uber Boats

They look to be a beefier rig compared to their competition at a similar price point. It's twice the boat the Ranger 2260 is and very similar pricing. I looked at the Ranger 2260 when I was talking to the dealer about the 1880MS which, by the way, is also priced similar. The Robalo is 5 more feet of boat then the 1880 and weighs 1100lbs more which should equate to a much smoother ride in the chop.

I can get more boat for the money in a bay boat then I can in a multi species boat. The 226 Cayman is 2-1/2' longer than the Lund and looks to have as much storage as my boat. @A-Jay I'm thinking white and sharkhide grey rather than black.

If I sell the Lund this fall,I'm looking at the Robalo 226 Caymen. Got to be family and fishing friendly. Any thoughts?
