Bilge, Aerator, And A Flooding Problem
Is the manufacturer still in business? See if you can get a cut sheet of the hull to see how the engineers originally designed it.

Trim System
Are you talking about trim on the motor, or trim tabs which would be mounted on the transom to the left and the right of the motor(normally found on larger boats)?

Cant Tell If This Is A Good Idea Or Not...
Yep, little gills. My son coined the term "bluegillish" for that type of bite.

Bilge, Aerator, And A Flooding Problem
In addition to what Fishindaddy said You may not have a circulating pump, only a fill pump. The fill pump should be connected to a "hole" below the waterline that has a screen over the intake. There should be a second hole next to that which would be where the overflow tube is connected. The bilge should be at or near the lowest point in the boat which is where the keel and transom meet. The hose for the bilge should be connected to a "hole" above the waterline. If and when you get this fixed you will want to have the bilge wired manually(operate with a toggle switch)AND automaticly(operates thru a float switch).

What Would You Do If You Couldn't Fish...
Funny you should say that. In my will it states I want to be cremated and put in a coffee can to be dropped to the bottom of Lake Michigan in Door County WI. to become smallie food.

Round Bait Cast Reels Vs. Low Profile
I have fished with Abu 5500 C3's for the last 30 years and bought my first Revo 3 years ago. Have purchased 2 more since then. I still use the round reels for large swimbaits and casting for salmon. The Revo's work great for bass and the ocassional musky or pike. It did take a short time getting used to them, but I'm able to throw much lighter lures with them versus the 5500's.

How Much Boat Can I Fit Into 18 Feet?
My terminology may be wrong but it is a trailer with an extra long "nose" section. What it does is allow you to lift up the trailer at the hitch, and it will tilt at the wheels. The boat is set back from the tongue and there is usualy no wheel jack n the front. The boat in the pic might be 12ft. As you can see the trailer tongue sticks out another 5 feet or so past the bow of the boat.

How Much Boat Can I Fit Into 18 Feet?
$200-$300??? What are you riding around in? A cruise ship LOL. I pay less than $60 a month for outdoor storage of a 17' boat. Same issue with HOA. Keep in mind, if you get a small boat you'll have to stay away from a tilt trailer. A 12' boat will have a 20' trailer.

On Board Charger Problem
I just purchased a 3 bank charger. I replaced a MK that took a dump after 7 years, and smoked a battery in the process. Cabelas Advanced Angler charger which is manufactured by Pro Mariner. It was a few bucks more than the MK but was pre wired with fuses and idiot proof on the install. Got it less than a month ago and so far so good. It got 4 stars on Cabelas website. My mechanic said Pro Mariner is an excellent charger. For whatever that's worth.

Did I Pick The Right Stuff?
The rod/reel combo is a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. A Milwaukee drill and a Ryobi drill are both tools that do the same thing. They both drill holes. The Milwaukee is made better, it costs more but it will last longer, and make work easier. Same thing with fishing gear. I've used cheap gear, average gear, and expensive gear. They all catch fish(DEPENDING ON THE FISHERMAN ) but are not all created the same.

Thoughts On A 80's Lund Pike W/08' 50Hp Mercury
If you can afford 6 grand and the hull and motor on the Lund are in good shape, you can buy alot of trolling motor and electronics for that extra 3 grand. Whatever boat you decide to buy, It's never going to have enough storage or speed anyway. Good luck
