  1. Maybe BASS should tell KVD he's only allowed to weigh in 2 fish to make it fair for everyone else.
  2. "They're not punishing him. They're trying to make it fair for the rest of the kids." Why on earth would a school promote "striving to be average"? I don't know about you guys, but IMO competing against people that are better than you inherently makes you try harder to win. Life isn't fair. If you're not good enough for the football team then maybe you should take up something else. I know if I was this kids parent I'd be P'od. http://news.yahoo.com/video/sports-15749645/boy-banned-from-scoring-touchdowns-26780284.html
  3. You're going to need 6 guage for the trolling motor and probably 14-16 guage for the electronics. Make sure you install fuses or circuit breakers(size recommended by the mfg) at or near the battery on the + side.
  4. Guess it would depend on the fishing. Waters and Woods is a show here in IL and WI that is filmed weekly 51 weeks a year. The show is always current. It's not edited like all the "mainstream" shows and it's a multi species show. Because it's multi species show he has the opportunity to call around to see what's biting where, and then travel wherever. He also always fishes with guides. Most shows are taped in 1 or 2 days depending on the fishing. Not a bad gig if you ask me.
  5. ...until he's sitting/standing on the back deck casting and gets swamped by a 25' cruiser on plane.

How much money do you have in your pocket?
  7. That's a pig smallie in your avatar! Get it up in Sturgeon Bay?
  8. If I am not mistaken 50 amp is pretty standard for MK. There newer motors also have a built in overload which resets by disconnecting and reconnecting power.
  9. In addition to trimming it down, early and late in the season I also bump the motor to pump any water out that may be just sitting in there. I winterize around Thanksgiving. First ice is normaly 2-3 weeks after that.

What is the reputation banner in the profile? How does it work? How does one get a good or bad reputation?
  11. You'll love to hook into one, especialy on bass gear. It's like a Mack truck hitting the lure. Earlier in the day I was teasing my son because he hadn't caught anything. I didn'thear the end of it for the rest of the weekend.
  12. For that to be even plausible, one would have to be without wife and family. Unless the wife is with you only because of the money. For me, the wife is gone, the kids are grown, all I need is the means. Hey Bassn Blvd, Wanna share some of that wealth?
  13. Looks pretty rough from the pic. Be safe and take Fishing Rhinos advice.
  14. So where are you going with this? Either clean the fish or don't. If you are not going to clean the fish throw them back in.
  15. ...king salmon. When there over 20lbs we refer to them as "Tunas" We attempted a smallie and king trip in Door County but the fish and weather had other plans.Caught Friday evening in Sister Bay on a Fat Free Shad. We were in the water at 2:00pm and fished til about 8:00pm. Aside from small bass this was all the excitement. Saturday morning a front sat above Sturgeon Bay and it rained and rained. We fished til 2:00 looking for smallies and made a half assed attempt for some walleye or pike. A couple of hits and follows but nothing to show for it. The wind picked up and I felt it no longer safe to be in my little boat n the Big Pond and we headed in.

Speaking of ducks... A duck walks into an ice cream parlor and asks the person behind the counter "Do you have any duck food?" The guy behind the counter says "No, all we have is ice cream." The next day the duck walks into the same ice cream parlor and asks the person behind the counter "Do you have any duck food?" The guy behind the counter says "No, all we have is ice cream." The next day the duck walks into the same ice cream parlor and asks the person behind the counter "Do you have any duck food?" The guy behind the counter says "No, all we have is ice cream." The next day the duck walks into the same ice cream parlor and asks the person behind the counter "Do you have any duck food?" The guy behind the counter says "No, all we have is ice cream, and if you come in here again and ask if we have any duck food, I'm going to nail your feet to the floor." The next day the duck walks into the same ice cream parlor and asks the person behind the counter "Do you have any nails?" The guy behind the counter replies "No, We don't have any nails." So the duck says to him "Well, do you have any duck food?"

Not Sinatra. It was Dean Martin. What do I win?
  21. All spring and early summer. I did very well this year. The 3 biggest fish I caught this year were all caught on a PB&J Buckeye mop jig. Two 5lbr and a 4(big in northern IL) Water was slightly stained. Caught 1 five in 85 degree water during the summer and the other 2 were in crappy spring conditions. I will say as the summer has progressed the jig bite has slowed for me. Blacknblue swimjigs is whats working now.
  22. Yum Houdinishad in "bluegill" color(no longer available) was a go to bait for me a few years ago. Now I only throw them weightless in weeds. Never liked the hard nose bass assassins if thats whats your talking about. Rather than throwing a fluke why not try a shad patterned crankbait like a Bomber or one of KVD's squarebills, or spinnerbait? Instead of trying to make one certain bait work, figure out a certain bait that works.
  23. There's a time and a place to use them. What time and where, I don't know. I have never caught bass on them. Only muskies.
  24. Albright knot Do a search on this topic. There are hundreds of threads asking the same ??? As far as the temperature drop. Shouldn't have any effect. Are you using a different brand or spool of line than you had used all summer?
