Which is what a non boater (buddy tourney) in my club did. The boater had him back up the trailer so he could drive the boat on. Only he didn't remove the gate, just lowered it. The boater was waving his arms and screaming from the boat, and his wife was doing the same from shore. CRUSHED the tailgate.

I thought you were going to say the scrappers are doing it. The morons stealing these, Can they tell if there is a camera in the gate or do they take all of them and hope for the best? Forgive my ignorance, but it the camera noticable in the tailgates that are equipped with them. Don't have a back up camera and I only lock mine when the cover is on the back and there is stuff in the bed.

I post regularly on a local fishing forum. It is the least moderated site I've been on and very clique'ish. If you're not used to the different personalities it can be difficult to navigate thru the BS to find the wealth of knowledge that lies within. It doesn't matter to me one way or another. I have thick skin and realize that it's just the internet. Some people take everything personaly. On that site I think some guys who want to put and take information are scared off by the screwing around. The site has a solid foundation of members and we tend to moderate ourselves. Posts don't get deleted unless they are spam that gets thru. Threads do get locked, but you either have to personally attack someone or be completely over the top out of line. I have visited other local fishing forums but don't care for them for one reason or another. So consider yourselves lucky BR members. You are graced with my presence. I like it here

Practice my friend. Practice. My Revos Stx's have dual brakes. Might be me but I really don't notice any difference with adjusting the mag brakes. There is a difference when adjusting the centri brakes. That being said Once I adjust them to my liking I never really change them. The cast control knob and my thumb control are most important.

I would have to agree with everything said. Also for the most part there really aren't any cliques here. It doesn't matter if a poster has a week of fishing experience or 50 years, or if they're young or one of the old farts. The members treat most everyone with respect.

Costs a little more than a gun, but probably the best deterrent. If nothing else an early warning.

Very important if you have loved ones in other rooms or live in a condo or townhome. Personaly, I have shotguns and handguns ready when needed. If you want a handgun as a honme defense weapon, make sure you have some time behind the sights. As far as caliber,.380 or larger if you chamber hollow points in the hand guns, and are a somewhat decent shot, you should be ok if it's a B&E. A guy stoned on ??? may require a large caliber or a couple more rounds in the chest. Shotguns are probably a better option in general. I believe I am prepared but thankfully I have never had this opportunity present itself.

Went panfishing with my dad today. Fished from 7am- the end of halftime. Fished the south end. Water temps varied from 44-50 degrees. Action was pretty consistant all day and we probaly boated 50 fish. There wasn't much size to any of them. We caught crappies, bass, perch, bluegills, white bass, and big drum. Fish were relating to wood, boat lifts, and floating piers. Most of the bite came on minnows, but a few came on pieces of nightcrawlers. Couple of the nicer fish

Is that a Dominic the Donkey reference? To get started, stick with blacknblue, PB&J and some type of green pumpkin or watermelon. Use swimjigs where you would use a spinnerbait. I use a paddletail trailer. Use arkie for weeds and football for rocks. I like larger presentations. Mop jigs with big trailers. I imagine I culd get more bites with a smaller presentation but I tend to get bigger fish,at least I think, with the larger setup. In many cases you'll want to trim the weedguard. I recommend removing 1/2 the bristles in light weed cover. Trim them off. Do not trim them down as they become less flexible.

I would imagine the more you put down the better the rate. When I financed my boat there was a 20% minimum down payment. I'd also recommend financing it for the shortest term possible. Saving $50 a month by extending your term for X amount of years could add hundreds maybe thousands of dollars in interest.

There is something called Ultimate SmartLink Luresaver System Split Rings. Never have used them but I'm sure somebody here has. It's supposed to open under hard steady pressure and release the hook from the lure. You would then retrieve the lure and put on a new ring and trebel hook. Might be worth looking into.

Congrats. My son started jig fishing this season and now it's his goto. Word of advice. I keep my index finger right in front of the levelwind with the line running over my finger. Makes it extremely easy to feel bites. I feel the "ticking" on my finger. Also, When in doubt, set the hook.

Good point. Which also means, bring a garbage bag with you each time you go fishing and help clean up the lake and pick up those styrofoam boxes, and fishing line. Tom D If you can, google "dnr arrest reports" for the state you live in. You'll see there are alot more arrests than one would expect. This time of year they're spread really thin because of hunting season. And my states dnr is really thin due to budget shortfalls. Program the # in your phone. Get license plate numbers if you can and continue to make reports of violations. If you want to "remind" the violator of the law go ahead. We've had instances here where vigilante fishermen were dumping the buckethead buckets back in the water and people have gotten hurt. Think about it. If someone was taking food out of your mouth would that sit well with you?

Maybe you live in rainbow and gumdrop land. If you mess with someones fish where I live you're liable to get killed. Don't be a fool. Call the DNR

Google it. Ohiobassclubs.com has a list of clubs. Then decide if you want to fish draw or buddy tourneys. I fish a buddy tourney. Then if you can afford it. Entry fees around here vary from $100 a boat to $250, then there are the side pots. I started fishing opens then joined a small club that fished northern IL ans southern WI. It was run by a Skeeter dealer and was very clique'ish. I now fish USAnglerschoice. Much better run club. There is a classic at seasons end, and a chance to win big money and boats at the TOC. There are still cliques and alot of egos flying around, but a little easier to deal with as they are not so tight knit. Guys act differently when there on the water than when they are sitting at the dock. I found it hard to get respect from guys at frst, and the only thing I can attribute it to is fishing out of a tin boat. "I must be an amatuer" Mind you there are a number of guys who are sponsored up that I fish against. Kind of funny, My son and I did pretty well this past 2 years and we were invited to join one of the cliques at seasons end. Good luck with your search

If they are keeping undersized bass, or exceeding creel limits, they are breaking the law. Report them to the DNR. If they are not. Deal with it.
