Tattoos?
Everyone has different reasons I suppose. For myself I think some of it had to do with living in Chicago and some of it with riding motorcycles. Kind of a tough guy thing. Then for some odd reason it can become addictive. I think nowadays it's trendy or some type of, for lack of better words, fashon statement. My 21yo son recently got his first and second tattoo's. The first was a tribute to his best friend who had passed away. The second is just because he wanted another one(the addiction).

Tattoos?
I've got tattoo's on my legs, arms, chest, back, and bottom lip. No real meaning for most of them. dragons, gargoyles, naked broads, bald eagles, some M.C.Escher artwork, and vulgar obcenities. Got them when I was 18-28 years old, I'm 41 now. No regrets but probably wouldn't get another one. My mother won't let me swim in the pool at her condo complex because it's embarassing to her LOL. Quick story. A few years back my sister finds my 4 year old nephew had drawn all over himself with magic marker. She asked him why, and his response to her was "I want to be like Uncle Paul" Do yourself a favor. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GET A WOMANS NAME TATTOOED ON YOU. Tattoos last forever, relationships don't

Wind Direction
Same issue here on the western shores of Lake Michigan. The water turns to choclate milk. I also fish a relatively shallow body of water averaging 4-5ft deep. Warm winds from the south and west, and cold winds from the north and east have a dramatic effect on water temps. Surface temps can rise and fall 10-15 degrees in a couple days if the winds are strong enough. In my experience, fishing Lake Michigan for smallies, a little ripple on the surface no matter what direction, is good. For salmon, it doesn't seem to matter that much. On that other body of water, I believe the bite is more temperature related and fish seem to get lockjaw quickly.

Bigger Or Smaller Presentation
I have heard it both ways. I continue to use mop jigs, large spinnerbaits and 10" worms. My train of thought is the bass doesn't want to expell alot of energy when the water temps are high(similar to cold water behavior), and eating a few large meals is better than alot of little ones. I have heard/read many guys downsize because of high pressured waters. I believe my #'s are down because of the heat. Could it be the size of the bait? What are your experiences?

Battery / Starter Question
Battery. just because you're showing voltage doesn't mean there's enough umph left in the battery to start the motor.

Casting With Current Vs. Against Currect
There is an area on Lake Michigan I fish for smallies, and they are always there. The current in the area is man made and flows south to north. I can make multiple passes thru the area but only catch fish when I'm headed from morth to south. When river fishing I always point the boat into the current for 2 reasons, boat control/speed and presentation. This is what works for me.

Casting With Current Vs. Against Currect
You want to cast into the current so the retrieve will be the same direction as the water is moving. It's a more natural presentation and fish are more likely to be head first into the current.

Ayudame With These Conditions
Jigs or T/Florida rigged ribbontail worms around the "stick-um-ups"(learned that word on Bull Shoals), unless you believe the fish may be suspended. If that's the case I would try to determine the depth of the thermocline on your fishfinder and start there, with a dropshot or crank. I'm still learning deep water fishing as most of the lakes I fish are primarily shallow with a few deep holes. Although frustrating at times it becomes more enjoyable once you figure them out.

Horsepower Restricted Lakes
Whatchutalkinboutwillis? 1/4 the price? Where is this? Maybe in years past, but a quality tin boat will run 2/3 to full price against a similar equiped 'glass boat. I believe 'glass boats retain their value better, but in this economy anything is possible. Where are you going to fish primarily? You may need to make some sacrifices. As far as fishing tourneys, a bigger motor=faster drive times=more fishing time. That being said I have a tin boat with a 90hp Merc and have fished Anglers Choice tourneys for 6 years against guys with some very expensive and very fast rigs. I have cashed checks in about 50% of the tourneys I fish. The bass doesn't know how much you paid for your boat.

A True Classic...
You know bilgerat, I have lived in IL my entire life. You might be right. I can't think of much. We have high taxes, restrictive gun laws, the most governors found guilty of something or another(another one today) crappy weather much of the time, the Cubs...... We have produced some good bands and actors Cheap Trick, Chicago, Local H, Chevelle, John Belushi, Bill Murray, John Cusak...

Who Would You Be If You Could Live The Life Of A Rock Star For A Year?
If I had the opportunity to be a rock star I'd probably be most like Ozzy. So it's probably a good thing I'm not. But, if I had to choose, gotta be Tommy Lee. If you think about it Sabbath probably influenced more bands musicaly but Motley Crue pushed extracuricular activities to the extreme.

Revo Mgx
It's designed so the fish will actualy lose weight chasing the lure. It helps prevent heart disease and diabetes in the underwater world.

Anyone Read The Amistad/falcon Article In Bassmaster Mag.
Seems to me they should of hired a better PR guy to write the article. "It's safe as long as you don't go over there" Since all of the happenings last year I haven't heard much about Falcon. Don't know if that's good or bad. Anyone from Texas give us a better idea of what's going on. Thinking of heading to Texas in the early spring. Would I be better off at Fork or Toledo Bend over the border lakes?

Rattles
I use the Venom rattles. They're slightly pointed on one end which makes it easier to insert into the bait.
