The thing I see as an issue with a senko t rigged is line twist. I would guess it's probably the same or worse than a spinning setup. I vote beetlespin. A good multispecies lure.

I ran "disk cleanup" and it took care of the issue. Go to all programs then Accessories then system tools then disk cleanup I almost sound like I know what I'm doing.

Alot of the quarries here in N.Il aren't managed properly. What you've found is a common reality. Small #'s of huge pike and cats and lots of 15" bass. The bass' main forage is going to be bass. Is the one you fish still a working quarry? If so, that would explain alot.

Saw it 3 times. First time my son sets his pole down on a dock with a Zip lure about a foot above the surface while he starts casting another rod. A 2 lb smallie grabbed the Zip lure on the rod that was laying down. My son grabbed to rod before it went into the drink and landed the fish. Second time I had a rod with a Rapala hanging off the end sitting on the bow of the boat. While casting another bait had a bass jump up and grab the Rapala but he didn't get caught. Third time had a spinnerbait get looped around a branch about 2ft above the water. As I'm pulling the bait up and down to free it, a bass jumps out and grabs it. He didn't get caught either.

That Stinger is a nice looking/setup boat. Just looked at one the other day. Since your checking out tin boats, don't forget to look at Xpress. They offer a little more performance wise than the others you've mentioned.

If the 385hp isn't enough, you can get a factory installed TRD supercharger which ups the hp rating to 500hp and doesn't void the warranty. Don't know anyone with a Tacoma but I've known a couple people with the 4runner that will attest to 15-16mpg hwy. I don't know why you guys are getting such low mileage #'s Highway driving I get 18-19mpg with the cruise control on at 55-60mph(according to the trip computer, I haven't calculated it myself). Between 70-75mph it drops to 14-15mpg. I just purchased new tires with an LT rating. The original had a P rating. haven't been on a long trip yet to see if there is any difference.

Another thing I forgot to mention is most shops are on call 24/7 for emergency work. They rotate weeknights and weekends between the crew. I also specialize in refrigeration. tjc mentioned about the OT. Food is expensive and grocery stores, refrigerated warehouses, and restaurants have no problem calling you out in the middle of the night. 12-16 hour days are not uncommon. (sometimes more) So much for family time. I enjoy my job except for the toll it takes on my body.(Nothing a little whiskey won't fix)It pays well, and now that I'm in a union shop the benefits are good. If you decide to get into the business, I'd recommend staying away from the residential end. Alot less work and many shops are comission based. Get into the commercial/industrial service end. Learn all you can, and keep learning. If you know how something works, you'll also know how to diagnose it properly when it breaks. Plus the more equiptment you know how to work on, the more your worth. Good shops are willing to pay for good techs. Good luck, and if you have any more??? Don't hesitate to ask.

What makes you think being an HVAC/R tech will allow you to spend more time with your family? Steady income LOL. I've been in the commercial/industrial end of the business for the better part of 15 years. Worked at a non union shop for 12 years and have been at union shops for the last 3. First off, your paycheck will depend on the weather. You need to be willing to work ALL the time when there's work. If you don't the shop will have you sitting at home when it's slow. They remember things like that. Secondly, if you don't want to get your hands dirty anymore this isn't for you either. This trade is comprised of many trades. Electrical, plumbing, mechanical, piping, welding, computers, construction, carpentry, puuematics, sheet metal etc. There are compressors as big as the diesel engines you work on. Yes, you can make a good living but it won't come quick and easy. I don't know what the market is in Atl. but in Chicago the starting pay is $12-15 an hour after trade school. The construction industry is dead right now and has been for a couple years. I do all service work and have never been unemployed. My knees are shot as well as my hip. I've had surgeries on my ankle and shoulder. I work in extreme heat and cold blah, blah, blah. Any other ???

The problem I have is not when reeling in but when casting after the cottonwood seeds have gotten caught in the eyes below the tip as well as the reel. My flipping stick has a very small eyelet at the tip. I had no issues this past weekend with that set up. Another casting setup with a slightly larger eyelet had minimal issues. My spinning gear was worthless.

I'm posting this here because my question is about the fishing not the tournament. If it's in the wrong spot go ahead and move it. So this past Sunday I'm fishing my regular buddy tournament with my son. 5 minutes in I lose a 3+pounder at the boat. Then for the next 8 hours all we could catch was short fish and pike. We boated probably (40-50) 13 1/2" bass and ended up bringing (2) 14" bass to the weigh in. The lake is in end of spawn/post spawn. Water temps varied from 70-80 degrees and is stained(where I was, but other lakes in the system are gin clear). Bluebird skies and 90+ degree air temp. Fish were caught on seawalls, docks, timber, inside and outside weedlines as well as the middle of channels. Bait of choice was blacknblue jigs, and swimjigs. Senkos caught the bass guarding fry. All in less than 5 fow(the average depth of the lakes). Many guys brought in limits and 14+pounds won. In your guys experiences: Was I only on small fish with the bigger ones being elsewhere? Or, Should I have experimented more with different types of baits, thinking maybe the larger fish didn't want a jig? Thanks

It's money falling from the sky. You see, I am a HVAC/R tech and all I see is $$$ The only rods it doesn't affect are those with a small eyelet at the tip. The cottonwood will bunch up at the tip and not make it further down into the reel. You're SOL with a spinning combo, but it shouldn't be too bad with a casting combo. Also, I believe I read here in the past that some of the pros carry a spray bottle with a diluted soap and water mix. When you spray it on the surface of the water it repels the pollen. I never tried it but maybe someone here can confirm it.

You'll never get rich. It's not worth that much. It's all in the math. If you figure 30,000 members who all give their $.02 worth, that equals 60,000 cents or $600.00 as a base line. So let's say 1% are regular contributors that's about $6 a day in "opinion" revenue or $2190.00 a year. So as I see it, the site is worth about as much as an average used car or a hot tub. If you go with too small of an engine you're going to end up using more fuel because the engine will be working harder. I have a Tundra 5.7 I get 19mpg on the highway without the boat. 12-14mpg with the boat and it tows effortlessly.

Bass bite is off the hook right now on the Fox Chain. Problem is they're all 13 1/2" Had a tough tourney today. Water temps at 75-80 degrees and the spawn appears to be completly over Prefished yesterday and found dinks. Today, lost a 3+ pounder at the boat 5 minutes after we started fishing. Spent the rest of the day catching short fish.(Possibly 50 or so bass) Was able to weigh in 2 fish for a whopping 3lbs. No check today.

Let the bass tell you what they want. When you're livewell is full of regurgitated crawfish, they're not puking them up to make room for bluegills.

Hippy jig is essentialy a mop jig. Just got my order today. I like the fact that the skirts are tied on with wire. I have had good success with his bluegill swimjigs. I am sold on Buckeye mop jigs but I will be trying the hippy jigs this weekend.
