  1. how do you grease or oil the bearings? the gears is easy.
  2. what do you guys lube the reels with? hot sauce? gear oil? i have heard some crazy ideas lol
  3. my uncle has a place at tuckertown resevoir. we love it. high rock and badin arent bad either but badin can get slammed with boats
  4. he is a very talented fisherman. i have no issues with him getting excited on his own boat catching fish. even when he went on a tirade and kicked the american flag off his boat. i didnt get mad at that. i am sure most were like that was disrespectful. the issue was he wasnt thinking and acted purely on emotion. to see that many folks not understand this and making such a big comotion about it along with media over hype is sad. imo...he is a true american angler. if you dont like him, dont watch him
  5. i have the half jacket XL's. it covers a bit more than the standard half jackets and i love them. i only have the dark grey polarized glasses but the cool thing is, buy some copper type polar lenses to go with it and you have glasses for all time of day.. not too bad
  6. its not ideal but if a 5-40 dollar bait is worth it to you then go for it.. all you need to do with the reel is the take it apart and dry it complete, re-grease and go back to work.. besides dont most of us have atleast 5-6 rods on deck at all times? ;D
  7. awesome thanks bud
  8. gotta link? i dont keep up with the fishing aspect online till now.. sorry and thanks for the reply.
  9. i have issues with them as well.. i have NEVER caught a fish on a jig and its not from lack of trying. thats for sure.. i try and try. other than getting hung up ALOT it has been more of a pain to use than any other bait i own. any tips on not getting them hung up on god knows what on the bottom???
  10. what knot do you use to attach flouro with braid?
  11. gotcha thanks tom..i just bought quite a few shallow cranks (balsa wood) from cabellas. they are large and very bouyant. 8 dollar cranks for 2.88, hard to beat.
  12. i have tried fishing cranks in and near heavy cover but everytime i am getting hung up on something i have to take the boat there and get it out ruining the spot.. how do i help keep myself from getting hung up? granted i was using deep cranking rods to get down to ground level (4-8ft depth).. should i use more bouyant cranks? i also like using deep cranks in shallow water, the lip digs in the ground causing a stir. you can really feel the bottom. i have caught some nice fish doing this.
  13. i will only use it for leaders. like someone else said. use a smaller diameter mono or copolymer instead of spooling flouro.. that has my vote.
  14. i do know that berkely vanish isnt all that.. ill never buy that again
  15. i had both suffix and the elite suffix and liked them both for the most part. i used 12 and 14lb and it seemed a bit stiff but its tough line imo.
  16. you fish this weightless correct? never tried it before
  17. we keep ours seperated from shallow to deep. i have a large duffell bag full of plano's filled with cranks. keep them out of heat and severe cold and sun and they will be fine. sort them how you wish. its not rocket science
  18. nice thanks fellas... i guess you could milk the 7.1 slow enough to where the cranks arent skipping on top lol
  19. hey guys what do you use the 7's for? i was given one brand new (cabellas pro something lol) and i was gonna use it for buzz baits since you need a higher speed to keep them on top. what else can use that higher speed reel for? cranks? thanks guys
  20. watermelon red and cotton candy color of any kind.
  21. lol red hooks suck ;D.... the bleeding baits suck... this is just from my own personall experience. if they work for you great. they dont work for me
  22. i like the bigger ones myself either t rigged, c rigged or weightless.. i prefer watermelon red to resemble a crawfish. slow is key ill agree with that. i use a 4/0 hook for the large ones. never had as much luck on the lil guys
  23. dang... i guess i should have went up to 14#'s oh well. ill make do with the 3000 yds of 12# lol... curious on the abrasion factor as well. i thought the excalibur was 100% copolymer instead of a coating
  24. guys, i know not to pay too close attention to marketing thats why i was asking you guys that have TRIED it. is it tough? i have never fished with a coplymer before. hence all the quesitons .. what are some things to look for in this line? bad memory? crappy knot strength? etc etc....
  25. i wasnt sure how many of you use it.. is it tough liek they say it is? never used a copolymer before. noticed its thin which is what i want.. i assume conditioners are good for copolymers as well as the others? thanks guys!
