  6. winch is a wonderful reel but if you read other posts here about it ,,,the winch does not throw small lures well ,,,id get the revo s or sx they are 30 to 70 bucks cheaper or more and just as strong ,,,,if you are only gonna chunk 3/8 oz plus lures then buy the winch good to see another bama boy !
  7. what if i kept some sort of pad between rod blank and ferrule when not in use ,,it sounds like the rubbing or wearing occured when sliding up and down and not when extended (i know good chance for bad jokes please refrain ) i may just do that when i put it down ill make sure theirs a cloth to keep from rubbing ? maybe something here to be marketed like a telescopic rod pad ?
  8. both excellent answers that have well made my decison to maybe get rid ofthis rod before it breaks or wears into and just get a 7 ft or so 1 piece that can do same thing ,,,,,
  9. i have a team all star 907fsx got it for 69.00 and needed a flipping stick. My question or concrn is how durable are these rods at the connection ,,it looks as if it would break easily andyone had trouble with their flipping sticks like this ? funny though how it seems just as sensitive as a one piece .........thx much
  10. i like the 7-6 for carolina too i think and the 10" anaconda by strke king(my favorite bait co) and ill use it for my rage shads as i throw it a ton too ,,,,,what otheer uses for each rod would yall suggest and again i love this site and the good advice get !

  13. i have 6 ea of the team rods and they are as ensitive as the rods tha cost 100 more imo......the bigboy's are good rods however no they arent as sensitive ,,,,one i has was more like a broom stick
  14. I use 10lb cxx for moving baits ,,, however heir 10lb is like most 15 ,,,,i use the floroclear in larder diameter nd like it
  15. ok may get long but all advice ive gotten here has been good to really good ,,,so im gonna list my seven rigs and what i use them for mainly by #. please tell me what line you wouild use for each and please no braid im afraid of it really and dont like leaders ,,,just me i know btw all reels are abu's and 1 fenwick 6 team all stars on rods #1 502 albi w medium/fast 7ft fenwick rod for shaky head fishing #2 revo s w light / moderate 6ft 6 tas783c for small cranks mostly #3 revo sx w mh/fast 6ft 6 tas786c texas rig worm mostly #4 revo s w mh/fast 6ft 6 tas806c spinnerbait mostly 3/8 oz #5 revo sx w mh/moderate tas826c rattletrap 1/2 oz mostly #6 revo s heavy/ fast 7ft 6 tas 907fsx for flipping and carolina rig #7 revo sx heavy exfast 6'10 pitchin stick for jigs please on each# tell me whats best line excluding braid to use ,,,,ive bought all this stuff new its my entire arsenal to rededicate my bass fishing i fish guntersville and wheeler lake for bass most all the time
  16. anyone use this color .....when flipping and pitching i like to see my line ..i also use my two rods for flipping and pitching for frogging and carolina rigging ,,,will this color do the job or will it be too visible under water,,, im not gonna be a braid man and i love p-line
  17. i have 1 abu garcia 502 albi 3 revo s and 3 revo sx so several dollars in these and all less than 2 months old for me what should a guy like me who is dumb to reel repair do for day to day maintenence ,,,and at end of year im sure i should have them cleaned ,,what is easiest way to have this done ,,,i know ill have to send them somewhere but where and what will it cost ??
  18. yes i have all 6.3.1 revos if need be i can slow down and they are fast enough for anything ,,,,think about i think the difference 6.4.1 to 7.1 is 3" per turn ,,,,,,
  19. my braid apps will be for piching flipping milfoil or froggig milfoil and pads ,, and pitching cypress trees so only thing i even might need a leader for is open wter carolina rigging ? would i get away with 8lb mono ,,,, and should i assume the shorter the leader length the stronger it will be ?
  20. that was exact one i wanted cause i use p-line and when i looked at the leader your talkng about on basspro website i could not figure out which size would be best for the 30lb 8lb dia spiderwire ,,,if you had that exact line in spiderwire please tell me exactly which you would buy in this leader,,, they only list the diameer in mm i believe ?
  21. i purchased this exact rod and put a revo s on it,,, and was wondering exact same thing ,,,,,what i got to try was a 3/8 oz spinnerbait and was amazed how far i could chunk the thing,,,,, i dont know about frogs without a weight but it wouldn't surprise me ,,,,, im gonna rig up my rage shad witha 5/0 hook and try to throw it with this rig myself ...........
  22. also kind of confused ,,lets say i buy the cam spider wire ,,,where im leading,,,, i would definitly ger 30lb 8 diameter ,,,,,what exact leader would you all use ?
  23. i use 10lb pline cxx in moss green for all my application except pitching / flipping ,carolina rigging , frogging i use 12lb pline cxx on the 10lb i straightened a 2/0 gamakatsu worm hook ,,,,if you get it in heavier than 12lb it gets some memory and in all my experience the 10 and 12 are super strong
  24. one word one letter revo s also i dont advocate it but when money is tight like me you gottaa do what you gotta do they are sold at wal mart everyday for 100 bucks ....best reel for the buck imo
  25. i have asked these questins myself before,,,, to me you have a good spinnerbait set up yes,,, and i would say the rod that you use for texas rigged worms will work for light jigs i mean both have the same hooks, howevr you need what i call a treble hook rod for crankbaits jrkbais or top waters and tha is just a medium to medium heavy rod with moderate action.......
