To leader or not to leader...
I use 65# straight braid for flippin'/pitchin' heavy cover here in FL. There is no such thing as "overkill" when pulling an 8lb + fish out of lily pads so thick you can hardly see the water under them!!!!!!!!!!!!

do these rods cover most techniques?
Everyone has different tastes in what they like in a rods action/power. If you are comfortable with your rods performance than that is all that matters! With that said, you have a mighty fine looking arsenal there! You have all you need to have to cover any situation you may encounter.

Making a normal rod a split grip
Hey reel mech, do you have any pics of rods with no cork? That sounds pretty cool actually!
-
trilene 100% flourocarbon- green or clear?
I use green only because the color of the water and vegetation i flip is, yup, you guessed it, green! For clear water i would get the clear!

Frog Fishing
It all depends on what kind of lily pads you are fishing! Here in FL we fish the ones that have the stalk sticking out a foot or more above water level. For those i use a mann's hollow body frog and twitch/maneuver it through the pads. I found that the Rage Tail toad doesn't go through as well and gets caught in the v stems! If you are fishing the kind that lay flat on the surface than the Rage Toad is your best bet. I use a 7' 6" flippin' stick, Abu Revo STX HS and 65lb braid for this technique. If it is scattered stuff i use a 7' 3" H/F rod, Abu Revo STX and 50lb braid. BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!

Hooksets with ewg on a t-rig
I find that whenever i lose a fish on the hook set either the fish didn't have it all in it's mouth or i am setting like a little girl! Unless of course i set the hook into a lily pad or something, LOL! You really have to hit them hard to penetrate their bony mouths.

Do you kiss your fish?????
I am shocked that so far the majority do not kiss the bass! Everyone knows its good luck to do so!!!! ;D

Can someone school me on Bass Boats?
Man, does he deal in FL!?! I am about to look for a bigger boat!

Making a normal rod a split grip
This looks WAY too home made IMO! The lack of the rings at each end of the cork grips makes it look bad! I would just sale them and buy split grip rods!

Long drought...water level down
This happened to one of my favorite lakes this year! I was extremely bummed out about it because there were no fish in my usual spots! Mainly because those spots dried out! But...................it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to the lake! I accidentally found the fish stacked on deeper outer weed lines and any available cover they could find! I have never caught so many bass out of that lake as i do now! One bad part is what Paul stated about stealth! I have found that i need to keep the trolling motor on low and make precise/quite casts! BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

farm pond with large bass
Im with Big-O on this one! Throw them a rage shad at night or a big black power worm!
-
I am the worst fisherman in the history of bass fishing!
NEVER GIVE UP MAN!! It would help if you told us a little about the lakes you fish! Depth, structure, cover size of lake etc, etc? Do you own a boat? You will find that this site is VERY helpful at getting people on the right track to finding and catching fish!

Rain Rain go away?????
Especially now that it is getting so hot! I have been doing well in deeper water with good structure/cover the past two months!

This is all i could come up with today!!!!!
Sounds great man! Just don't live up to your name and bring lite tackle! All you need is a flippin' stick/worm rod and a frog set-up! LMK

U tailed worms
It all depends on what the bass want. I used them today to flip heavy clumps of grass/hydrilla for tight holding fish! Then i used one with an 1/8 oz weight to swim it past cattails and get the active dinks. My buddy caught a few throwing one weightless and buzzed on the surface like a top water lure! VERY VERSATILE MAN!!!!!!

More Secret Spot Bass
Man, looking at those lily pads makes me want to pick up my flippin' stick! Nice fish also!

New Tru-Tungsten Frog
I just received my summer BPS catalog and ordered 5 of them to try out! They will be in Thurs right on time for the weekend! I will post reviews then. Hope they are not a big disappointment like the 4" swimbaits they make!
-
12" Power Worms
I love the BPS squirmin' worm as well! I use them in black and in junebug mainly in the summer!
-
I'm sorry but the brush hog is god!
I use them as a flippin' bait in Hydrilla mats and they work great! For flippin' i use the smaller 4" size though. Black with a blue tail is hard to beat on my waters!
-
whats the best and or most reliable knot to use with braid
I use the double Palomar knot and have landed 8lbers with no issues! Just be sure to leave plenty of tag on the knot because it will slip on a hard pulling fish!

Looking at BPS Crankin Stick
I agree as well. I first bought the M/F and the tip is way too soft(even for a crankin' rod)! I broke it in a rod locker and got the MH/F and all is well now. Can't go wrong for the $ IMO!
