  1. I organize by color in a 3700 box. I have about 50 jigs and I know pretty much exactly what I have. Thinking about that now, I bet non fishing people think its crazy that we can tell someone exactly what we have and where it is in our tackle box.
  2. I would go with the H2O Mettle baitcast reel and Pfleuger President Spinning reel for the two reels. both are $50. For the President I would probably go with the 2000 size if possible. That can throw your smaller things as well as some medium sized baits like shakey heads. For rods I would look at the Abu Garcia Vendetta rods. I would go with a M or ML for the spinning while I would go MH for baitcaster
  3. I got one and I love it. Its smooth, casts like a dream and feels solid. Great reel for the price
  4. If that is the case, I would probably go with the 5.2:1 gear ratio
  5. The only time I am really concerned with gear ratio is when I am deep cranking. When I am deep cranking I want a 5.2:1. That will give you enough power to get that bait down there and not wear you out if you are fishing it all day. Other than that, I am fine with a 6.4:1 for everything else.
  6. I would like to see how to do it to a casting reel. I wouldnt mind trying it out.
  7. First cast with my Vendetta Spinning rod, "Snap" it broke about half way up. I was irritated. All I had was a flick shake with finesse worm. ugh.
  8. I really like that one right above the black one. If it were me, I would try to add about 4-5 strands of blue to that though. Good work
  9. I like a curly tail grub on them. I am gonna try the rage craw on them though.
  10. I can bring about the same ammount to my tournament, in my Planos I am going to have it like this: 1- Terminal Tackle- Hooks, Weights, Jig heads, weighted hooks, rattles, all that boring stuff. 2- Crankbait box 3-Jig Box 4- Spinnerbait Box 5-creature/craw box- Brush Hogs, rage craws, paca craws, 6-Worm box- Some Rage Anacondas, Rage Thumpers, straight tail for shakey heads 7-ETC box- a few lizards, a few tubes, few senkos, flukes. I typically only bring a few colors like Green Pumpkin, Watermelon red and another color that i have confidence in depending on the bait. Like Alabama craw Rage Craws. Makes for a rad trailer and i have confidence on T-Rig. Hope this helps.
  11. The hart jigs that you can pair them up with are pretty nice little jigs for cheap too. I got a handful of the green skirts with a little blue in there. Gotta get some trailers like that now
  12. I have not used them, but they are on my "to get" list for when I need a small jig.
  13. Those single foot guides all the way are one of the reasons I went with the regular guides.
  14. I agree with the Bass pro Crankin Stick. I would go with a medium gear ratio since you are fishing spinnerbaits as well. I would just look at a nice solid reel that feels good. Personally I would probably get a Revo S to go along with it. I dont see the need for a reel with a gear ratio in the 5s unless you plan on doing alot of deep cranking. In that case I like the Revo Winch. A 5:2.1 or lower just seems like it would be a pain in the butt to burn a spinnerbait back, and that is how I catch most of my spinnerbait fish
  15. I am looking to get a new spinning reel for my new 6'9" ML vendetta rod. I am going to use it for senkos, smaller shakey heads, grubs, and road runners and stuff like that. Any suggestions of reels? I am not looking to break the bank. I have always thought the Abu Cardinals looked like a good reel for the price. My cousin has one and it seems to be pretty decent. Any suggestions?
  16. that is awesome!
  17. Got two Abu Vendetta Rods. 6'9" ML Spinning and one 7' M casting. A few weeks ago i got 3 Jackall Giron's for $3 each. 1 is a sinking, 2 are floating. I can't find anything anywhere about a floating Giron. They dont have the BBs in it that the sinking ones have. I tried one the other day. its wicked. It floats on its side just like a dead/dying baitfish. It walks the dog pretty rad too.
  18. I'm not too concerned. I like the V1 anyway. If it ends up breaking, with that 3 year warranty they will most likely send a V2 to replace.
  19. Yeah, they had 4 casting rods left. 2 were 7' and 2 were 6'6". THe 6'6" were marked $29 and the 7' were marked $64. I showed the dude at the store that they were the same thing just different size and he told me he would give me the $29 price on the 7'. I went to get some milk and decided I would get a 6'9" ML spinning rod that I will use for senkos ans grubs. Now I just need 2 new reels.
  20. The people at my walmart were looking at the differences in the appearance in the rod and said the V2 is different because they do not have as much red. Either way, its a good deal on a rod even if it is the V1
  21. Walmart has the Veritas on sale now on their website for 72.82. Quite a bit better than the $100 you get at other places. Just thought i would share.
  22. I have had 5 bass pro rods and only one broke and it was my fault. Either way, they gladly exchanged it. I feel like they make very nice rods. I like Abu alot though with that 3 year warranty.
  23. I really like to throw a wake bait when this happens. I liked the Lucky Craft jointed wake baits they discontinued. only about $5 at bass pro now on clearance.
  24. He has probably taken them apart and switched out a bunch of parts. who knows though. Im sure he has 4-5 spares on his boat at all times
  25. I feel like the 1/4 is the most versatile so i use it the most
