@alonerankin2 Why would it? @Troy85 After 3 1/2 days last week on Toledo Bend & 4 anglers, every single bass was caught without it. Now there were bass caught with it, just not where we were. Seen plenty bait, seen plenty bass, they just wouldn't bite. Can I prove it was the FFS? No, but when we specifically targeted bass on the screen, nuthin. When we fished pre-spawn/spawn areas without looking at FFS, we caught. Why? Couldn't tell ya! 😉

@Pat Brown One thing I am seeing along with many other anglers is that FFS is actually starting to spook the fish. This was l also verified by Todd Driscoll's radio telemetry study where he not only used radio transmitters but FFS as well.

Sorry but I don't see that at all! What I do see is it verifies a lot of what I previously thought. It also proves one thing I've always thought, bass are where they wanna be, when they wanna be there, doing what they wanna do. FFS does not guarantee you'll catch em once you find them.

Texas Parks & Wildlife Department biologist Clarence Bowling says studies have shown that a female (when handled properly) will simply locate a bed and an available male in the area where she is released and complete spawning.

I don't go looking for beds but when I see one & the female looks large enough I'll spend some time on her.

I can tell y'all one the for certain, I'm on Toledo Bend right now & FFS ain't making a difference! We're seeing em but the ain't biting nuthin. Just cause you see em doesn't mean you can catch em! The 5 I've caught was without out it!

Exactly 😉 I posted on another thread that it doesn't matter where I'm going fishing the preparation is the same. I never understood this idea of fishing differently during a tournament as opposed to "fun" fishing.

😉 Pretty much everyone knows I throw 15# Big Game. So does my grandson Aiden.

I support two local high school fishing teams. Yesterday they were fishing Caney Lake during post frontal conditions. The teams that caught fish all had FFS, the teams that didn't have got skunked. Most will say those teams with out FFS need to get it. The problem is not everyone can afford it. So what would y'all tell the kids whose parents or team captains can't afford it? In my opinion y'all are saying it's about what's between the folds of your wallet, not what's between your ears.

The Jig is one of the most productive lures for fishing heavy cover of any type known to anglers. The Jig is one of the most productive lures for catching larger than average bass. But despite its pure awesomeness the angler must keep in mind there will be days when the bass simply do not want a jig. So to all the young anglers (not chronological but experientially) struggling when casting, flipping, pitching, or punching with the Awesome Jig keep in mind there will be times when the Jig aint gonna be that AWESOME.

There's a lot of technology that has been ban from various sports, bass fishing is not exempt. Just because something is banned from tournaments doesn't mean it cannot be used by everyday anglers & guides. Look at the Alabama Rig!

Despino's Tire Sevice in conjunction with the Childern's Mircale Network held its annual tournament on March 9th 2024. Rule #1: no FFS 281 boat entered First place 5 bass for 30.35 lbs. That's the first one with more tournament trails following. Y'all gonna be surprised when it's banned in tournaments. There's numerous Pros getting on board & no just the older guys.

Preparation I don't care if I were fishing the Bassmaster Classic or the bayou across the street. I only know only one way to fish, the energy level is the same!
