  1. Whole boat load of good Mojo coming your way.
  2. My thoughts and condolences for all involved
  3. I was looking through my gear and thinking the same…these are just taking up space.. mine have never seen a fish’s lips.
  4. @Bazoo I’ve got a bunch of lipless cranks, most are Rat-L-Traps…. A lot of unknowns. They all seem to fish about the same to me. Other brands have different colors and patterns which I think make more of a difference. I ordered one of theses as fluff to get over the free shipping limit (gets me every time.) Anyway….. I am convinced the one rattle versus multiple rattles can make a difference.
  5. ^ x2 I my worries of backlash disappear. Great rigs for skipping too.
  6. I like Plano speed bags, have one for worms and one for creatures and tubes. They don’t hold as much as advertised but you can pack a lot in them. I like that they stay in original packing. https://www.planooutdoors.com/collections/tackle-storage/products/kvd-signature-series-speedbag?variant=50204580118688
  7. My condolences to all
  8. I have a spot I try every time I’m go by too. I didn’t loose the fish, but I watched as a man was in a classic battle with a fish. Wish I had it on film, anyway…. I fish the spot when go by it hoping to hook that fish. Reeds are a lot tougher than cattails and Lilly pads, those look dense as crap.
  9. I want know too…. My theory is they zig zag round in that mess until they are able to get slack line. They then proceeded to shake around and dislodge the hook. They are crafty and wise, they didn’t get big by being dumb.
  10. @Lottabass first nice fish… second we’re they all lip hooked? Bet it was noticeable easier to unhook. I think you’ve sold me on the circle hook thing.
  11. I got a second chance, I like to think it was the same fish. I fish a spot, it’s just an opening on the side of a creek, over 200’ wide and about 150’ deep. It’s filled with about Lilly pads. First time I hooked it, was with a spinning rig, the fish took the bait, and ran straight for the pads peeling drag all the way. It got in deep, and got off, whole fight was about 15-20 seconds. Second time, I had a bait caster…. Same bait, same area, hooked it again. At first it heading it in to the open, taking line. I did about half a hook set to try and turn it, worked but not in the direction I wanted. It was heading for the pads and not back at me. Every time I tried to thumb the spool for a little more drag the rod bent and was afraid of a break off. My next move I’m not sure was smart one or not, maybe I’ll get everyone’s opinion on that. I tried to chase her down with the trolling motor. I followed it into the pads, until the motor wadded up and stopped. I remember keeping a taught line, feeling it shake down there for about 5 seconds….. then slack line. I think about that fish often…. In my mind it’s a big ole bass, with couple hooks hanging from it lip. It has a eye patch and tattoos, smoking a Winston with hash marks on it’s fin for how many time he’s got away from anglers.
  12. I used tubes a lot, smallie fishing. Not so much here, don’t know why. I really need to give them a solid try here in Fl. Thanks for the video @Glenn.

Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida
  15. @Joedodge you asked how long would I fish the pond. Probably way to long, but I love to fish, catching fish is the gravy. If it is a convenient place to stop, try all your new gear there. I have a little pond, that I stop at when I’m in that area. It has easy access and the water is clear, so I can see what the bait is doing or not doing. Anyway I saw a swirl in that pond one day, had to have been the new world record. Then again it might have been a turtle, or something falling out of a tree, or a frog. But you ask how long would I fish a pond…. That was almost four years ago.
  16. I use 6:8 to 7:5 for everything. I believe everyone has a natural cranking cadence so to speak… What ever your comfortable cranking speed is….. I adjust the reel to match my comfort zone…. I loot at IPT too.
  17. I do use the twist locks sometimes, but I buy them separately. I add them my my ewg hook of choice, I can Tex pose them, or add split shot to the bottom and make my own weighted swim bait hook.

  19. BPS and Yum is what I use the most
  20. Hahaha too funny.
  21. @Lottabass & @RRocket , do they make one with the eye turned 90 degrees? If ya had a vise or a couple pair pliers you could twist the eye, but the might weaken it.
  22. With my boat being a small but humble vessel, I don’t have a lot of room, so I can’t carry 20 rods and reels (wish I could). I have multi purpose rigs and re-rigging isn’t and issue if I have to go in a completely direction. Keeping a larger variety of baits, and not a lot of one is a factor too. I’d rather catch a few fish on a few baits, than a lot of nothing on one bait.
  23. I do pre-rig my rods, put line conditioner on them, Kinda give them the once over. I don’t do anything special, except look for snakes in the boat. This reminded me of a fellow angler I met. He kept a wacky rigged soft plastic on a bobber behind his boat. Said the bobber moving with surface conditions kept the senko moving below, said he caught many fish like this. This what my grandfather said all the time, “can’t catch no fish without bait in the water. I have to keep reminding myself this, I’ll go out, or stay out, in summer time rains, no lightening.
