  1. I gotten hooked, usually trying unhook a fish, or the rod falling and snatching the line through my fingers until it meets the hook. But holy cow, every one’s stories of face hooks and eyeball gouges. Dang, I didn’t think I’ll be able to sleep for a week. I’m going to order me a hockey mask, like the one Jason wears, yea, that’s it. I’ll put Tackle Warehouse, and Bass Pro stickers on it, yea that’s it. I could all so put polarized lens in the eye holes, yea that’s it. Shouldn’t look too bad should it?
  2. My father was what, a lot people called , including me, was a master fly fisherman. He participated in seminars, would teach youth groups, how to fly fish. He could work a fly, the longest and accurately, and made it look so easy. Now me with a fly rod, I simply cuss too much.
  3. Frogs or a live target soft bodied blue gill, when fishing the slop. When I am able to make long cast along the weed lines, I like a walking bait or popper type. Buzzbait or ploppers for night, or break of day mornings, when you just start seeing the glow in the horizon. Black in color
  4. @KP Duty,That’s bad to the bone…..does it any kind of date on the box? It’s actually glass?
  5. I wish I had done that a few times with combos. I picked up a BPS prodigy, on clearance, the older black and white one, not the new funky colored one. Shouldn’t bought two, turned out to be a darn good setup,
  6. @Lottabass what that your only strike? I mean did ya miss any bites but couldn’t them hooked? Nice fish by the way.
  7. My grandfather was a stickler for safety…….. He would pull plug wires off and disconnect batteries when working on stuff. Plugs wires to make sure if, turned over by hand, it could start. Batteries disconnected to make sure the starter could engage when you didn’t want it to. He would say “ I would rather take the extra steps now, than be sorry later”.
  8. I would have a hard time filling somebody’s shoes that fish open water. I mean with all the area, then to just start chucking a jerk bait or crank bait. Some of the pics with @A-Jay holding fish with open water in the back ground, I wouldn’t even know where to start.
  9. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida
  10. @JHossthanks …. Just the mag brakes right…. Centrifugal ones , still take the side cover off
  11. @JHoss what is different about the brakes? Been eye-balling them too. Have a 6’6” MHF with no reel on it… just doesn’t look right, haha got get something on there.
  12. I bought a bunch of chatter baits already. Ether I’m working them wrong or what, they just don’t seem to work for me.
  13. a stroke took my dad out of the game at 76, my mom told me the other day, when she was visiting my sister in NM. That she had enjoyed her visit because she didn’t have to drive the the whole time she was there. Everybody took the hint and now she gets taken anywhere she needs too. @DaubsNU1 have you talked to his doctor? My friend had the doctor tell his Dad, that he shouldn’t be driving. He let him be the bad guy, my friend was just following “doctors orders”. It still was a tough row to hoe, but at least he was mad at the doctor and not him.
  14. @RRocket what set up are you going to try? Topwater, jerk, square bill?
  15. With the hurricanes, we’ve had no power for almost a month. With load management, a little ingenuity, and a 11 kw generator, you can get by. I only run it for a few hours in the more and again in the evening. Luckily no extreme cold here.
  16. I have a carbonlite 2.0 combo….. I absolutely love it. It’s a 6’6” med/med- fast, I was on the fence when buying it, the med fast felt stouter that a regular med/med. I use it a lot, it’s one of my most universal rigs, I can throw t-rigs, cranks or spinners. I don’t mind the white, it has yellowed a bit. I all so have another carbonlite reel, 7:5 LE, I like it a lot too.
  17. I understand where everyone is coming from….. I absolutely love to fish, it’s my happy place in the world.
  18. You could fish all year round here if ya wanted to. I take myself out of the game around feb. -mar., during spawning season. I service my reels and boat, re-order tackle, that kinda thing. This year I’m a little behind, been waiting on a part for my boat for 6 weeks….UGH!
  19. Whole bait bucket full of mojo heading your way.
  20. I like BPS square bills, ringing at about $6 (5.99) … they catch fish, plus they are my filler when get my $50 free shipping.
  21. 7 1/2” ribbon tail, Texas rigged, because it’s so weedless. It’s got to be about my favorite. I like tubes too, stupid rigged, I like the profile when casting or pitching. Haven’t caught as many fish with them as Texas rigged, but I like fishing them.
  22. @Lottabass please keep updating this. I’m not a fan of treble hooks ether. Where did ya get them at, hooks that is. Probably get caught and snagged less too.
  23. I like the plane speed bag and leave them the original packaging
  24. I have a egg & cheese biscuit with coffee, while watching the sun come up. I usually have a peanut butter sandwich and have chips and snacks nothing real heavy.
