  1. I’m totally a budget angler…. Probably why I like Bass Pro. Most of my gear comes from yard sales, and estate sales. I do splurge now and then and get me a new rig, but after learning about “private labeling”…. Where the same company make an array of different brands. I look at features and capabilities rather than brand. So I not loyal to one kind or company of fishing gear, I enjoy the research and shopping too. I even bought a telescopic bait casting rig from Ali express, with an exchangeable BFS spool. $38.00 so no big expense, would I buy another,no….. but did I throw it away…. Nope.
  2. BPS… 7 1/2 ribbon tail, garlic, June bug color. Ewg 3/0-4/0 & hook, 1/8-3/16 bullet weight, on a 7ft med-heavy/ fast, spooled with big game mono- moss green.
  3. Ok now…., everyone on this thread. You have stepped over the rabbit hole and fell in the deep end of the pool. Not sure if there is any lifeguard rings to save ya at this point. Just try and swim to the edge, there will be guys in white jackets to try and pull ya out, don’t resist them. They are there to help, they have some people that want to talk to ya. Just kidding everybody, now you anglers have taken it to the next level, for sure. Please post pictures and “How to’s”
  4. Thanks @Glenn. I thought I was pretty well organized until @MN Fisher and @A-Jay showed their organization skills.
  5. Gotta love this site! I learned so much here, from different ways to fish the same bait, to reel maintenance and repair and all the new baits coming out. Although I’m convinced the bait monkey lives here.
  6. Thanks for sharing. Where did you get it at? Ordered or stumbled across it?
  7. Hi from the Sunshine State of Florida
  8. @woolleyfooley I got these. 1/10-3/16-1/4-5/16 all of these have a 1/0 hook, the bayruf 3.3 is the smaller baits
  9. Tinboats.net I did a 12/36 with the help from everyone on there. I’ve have a 15/48 polar kraft mod-V , not a Jon style, but still a tin boat.
  10. I went to get into a tournament here on St John’s river. It was for the Boys ranch charity. Places donate tackle and gear, shirts and what not for prizes, plus a cash pot for the top winners. By the time I got the entry fee, insurance on me and my boat, got inspected read all the rules and regulations. I felt like I was just short of a cavity search, it was turning out not to be as fun as I thought it was going to be, plus expensive. So I opted out, I realized it just wasn’t for me.
  11. I sure will…. Just so you can imagine with me, let me tell ya where we’re going to try this bait out. You might not want to come. The water is crystal clear, average 72 degrees year round. 20ft deep looks like 2”, at least I’ll be able to see my bait to see if I’m working it right. It has a current, 400 million plus gallons a day come out of the springs. Hard to keep the bait at the right depth, I ordered 4 different jighead weights. The bottom is eel grass and hydrilla with patches of sand & rocks here and there. Winter time is the least crowded, summer time, you can almost walk across the tubers in the river. Early morning or late evening is really the only time to fish. It is one of the most frustrating places to fish. You can see big bass but can’t get them to bite. The darn pan fish short strike ya and nip the tails and skirts off your bait. What bass I have caught have been very small. So this place might not be a fair test for this bait, but this place is the reason I bought this bait.
  12. My order from Tackle Warehouse came in the other day. I like the jig heads, sharp, seem to be strong. I wasn’t crazy about the colors, it’s not actually the color. The picture showed white belly. The bait that came was clear bellied, I think the background in the photo gave the white look to the clear part of the bait. The color of the electric olive, I think will be perfect, the crystal clear belly not so much. I also got… sardine young watermelon bay white Where it shows white, it’s clear, probably not going to matter. Think I’ll be able to try them this weekend.
  13. @Swamp Girl the stuff I keep in my truck, is the minimum tackle. A telescopic 6ft, a Zebco omega spincast, a couple of Plano boxes with a hooks and stuff. I keep 5-6 bags of soft bait, a dozen or so hard baits. That really all I need. Now do I want to give up all my tackle and rods and reels….. Oh noooo…….
  14. ....where is this at, never heard of it. The BPS I go to has hit or miss returns.
  15. Hi from the Sunshine state of Florida.

  20. Oh nooooo! Love this^ Have you set up a support group therapy call hot line? You know like the red phone under glass like Batman and commissioner Gordon have, or a cool light in the sky thing with the Bass Resource logo……
  21. I think it’s a very versatile setup too, I think it will work out for what you want and a lot more.
  22. Or estate sales, you’ll be surprised at what fishing gear you find at them too.
  23. Hi I’m Sunshine State of Florida too. Not a great fisherman but got better here. I’m an ok caster, and a good tackle buyer.
  24. I’m a fish where your at kinda angler. I keep a backpack with tackle and a collapsible rig in the truck. I’m a reverse universe green eggs and ham fishing kinda person. “Yes I could, yes I would, I would fish in the dark, I would fish in a park. I would fish in my house, even with a big ole mouse. I would fish on solid ground, even fish and make no sound…… Somebody stop me, think I could do this all day.
  25. Here’s to you @Swamp Girl, you can’t see me but I’m tipping my coffee cup. You made half way through, and here I am grumpin’ because it was 48* this morning. Going to 37* tomorrow, I’m waiting for the “ state of emergency “ broadcast”, bet all the peanut butter and bread are already gone …. Dang it!
