  2. I have both Loomis & Dobyns rods & tend to favor the Dobyns rods. Never had a ALX rod so I can't comment on them.
  3. The better you become at mastering the skill set of fishing the less luck will happen while fishing.
  4. Rod Snapper I hope you never need help. I also have no experience with these lures but have with there plastic baits. they work great & are a excellent company to work with. Excellent Service.

Catt that is excellent advice. I always use sent when fishing in the grass. I use to use fish formula all the time but have not seen it in a good while so I have straight anise oil. where do you find it?
  6. They are an excellent company to deal with. I have ordered many rods from them without a problem. I always have them sent with there 2 day delivery plan, maybe there is less handling of the package. Glad they got you squared away quickly.
  7. Go with the Pflueger & you will never look back. At that price it is a great buy.
  8. I am no deep diving crank expert But I would not Trade the rod in & take a loss. The depth of your crank bait is going to depend on the length of your cast & the weight of your line plus the angle of the bill on the bait & how hard you can crank it. Knowing the way a bass eyes are located it see upwards. So if your bait goes above them a bit that is ok. If your bouncing your bait along the bottom the sediment trail & noise will make it look for your bait. Fluoro is going to make your bait run a little deeper than Mono. I no nothing about the rod Lews might have been thinking the weight of the bait & the resistance of the water while the bait is coming thru the water would effect the rod tip. I would probley use Fluoro with the 5XD & 8 XD see how that works for you. remember to use speed control to adjust for desired depth & that might cover the water column your looking for. I hope this help some.
  9. Make sure your accessories are about equal, T/M, Electronics, trailer etc. The Ranger Z package is a nice feature especially the soft ride seats, but I don't know if it still as it was that new ownership is building them.
  10. Old School the 6" Creme Scoundrel worm or the 6" Super Floater. In the new era with out a doubt the Senko
  11. the scorpion is $266.39 shipped today. check the value of the $ to the yen each day when you are ready to buy. I paid a few $ less shipped than the Curado. Like I said I don't have the Curado so I can't compare but I can tell you the Scorpion is a fine reel. I order most of my reels from Digitaka & have them with in 7 days.
  12. I have the Scorpion & this is what it has plus 8 bearings instead of 7.When I bought mine the L/H Curado was not Available. I don't have the Curado so I don't know if it has the following. Durable aluminum alloy body frame Hagane body I-DC5 computer controlled brake system Anti-rust treated ball bearings for long life Carbon drag washers Extra efficient X-SHIP gear system Clicking star drag Hyper-tensile brass gears Balanced S3D spools Super free spool design Titanium coated level winder Saltwater fine
  13. I have both the Champion XP 735C & 736C with full handles. Both rod have the Shimano(Japanese Version) Bantam MGL reels on them & can fish with them all day. I use the 736 pretty much for hollow body frogs but the 735 for other applications too, ex: toads, swimbaits, buzz & spinnerbaits, Carolina rig for a few. These rods are awesome in fact so are the reels.
  14. I don't think X-girlfriends would agree with that.....
  15. It's hard to beat a Zoom Lizard.
  16. Or maybe the water is starting to warm & moving toward spawning & the females get all dolled up & are wearing red lipstick, just a thought.
  17. If the water temp is 50+ I have a Zoom lizard in the water.
  18. Log Catcher you made a wise choice following Catt's advice. That bait is a good one.
  19. I have been using that for a for a couple of years or more. Use a hitch hiker attached to a good swivel (small) & a #2 or 3 Colorado blade depending on the water color. It works well.
  20. I am not a big fan of spinnerbaits.
  21. I use Gamma High Performance Copolymer in Moss Green Color. This is a very strong line & will do what you want it for.
  22. I did make a mistake on the size of the Skeeter's boat. my buddy has the same boat as the above Skeeter. The same year model with the same engine & no jackplate. I have ridden in that many times & when the lake gets rough It's a rough & wet ride.
  23. I own 2 SA683 C & 5 SA 684 C & if your looking for a shorter rod they can't be beat especially at that price.
  24. Well Bigjean663 the Japanese version of my Bantam MGL arrived yesterday. I ended up paying $265.33 Shipped. Can't beat that plus it has one more bearing than the U.S. version. Today requires me to go for lunch at my favorite Chinese restaurant, they have a Japanese cook so when the lunch crowd leaves he comes & shows me the in's & out's of the reel.
