  1. I’ve tried that at Stick Marsh, never caught a thing. (But really didn’t stay with it) Makes sense tho Mike
  2. I hope so Its my own silly fault! Mike
  3. *Heavy cover flipping and pitching. *Sight and bed fishing into moderate to heavy surroundings. *Large soft or hard body swim baits. *Drop or short casts into brush piles. *Casting t rigged plastics into and through submerged vegetation of any kind. Mike
  4. I had fusion of L4/L5 with a Laminectomy in 2012. I was 62. Starting about 4 years ago I started a regimen of epidural’s every 3 months because of another disc degeneration!! This time L3/L4. I’ve been on Percocet to manage the pain ever since. It’s gotten to point now that I’m risking permanent nerve damage without another fusion. Soooo, next week I’ll have another MRI to determine if I will have more screws and pins or a cage with a steel plate. My suggestion to you is to get it diagnosed by AT LEAST 2 back SURGEONS, no one else. If it is determined that your discs are indeed ruptured inquire about all the available options with surgery being the last one. I was fortunate, my first fusion was successful but when you have one the chances of needing another is greatly increased. I’m proof. Good Luck Mike
  5. Sell Cabelas, get rid of the debt you bought along with the name, and lower your prices across the board. Mike
  6. No, not at all! For me anytime I make a fairly vertical presentation like punching I use it every time. I just mentioned punching because the majority of the time I’m flipping, as I enjoy that the most of all bottom contact presentations. When casting or even making long pitches I don’t think a snelled knot is as effective. For those I just use the Palomar. Mike
  7. Keep the faith Brother! ? Mike
  8. Have a great time! You’ll be fishing the south end which is the best place at the right time to get the fish of a lifetime. Looking forward to a full report!! Mike
  9. I’m convinced it helps when punching on an essentially vertical set. It’s like most everything else, everyone has their own preference dictated by their own experience. Mike
  10. When words fail all there is are thoughts and prayers. It’s one thing when it’s us that’s hurting, but an entirely different level when it’s our child. I think I can speak for everyone here when I say it’s these times that family and friends are needed the most. Even friends that we may have never met. God Bless Mike
  11. Sorry Bud, but it’s Too early in the morning to be reading this! ?? Mike
  12. May we all be Thankful for what and who we have, without forgetting those who are no longer with us. Mike
  13. Mickey I tie directly to the hook. I don’t use leader’s for anything. Mike
  14. Well your son and family certainly have the hope and prayers of mine! May the trail be successful and may God bless him with a full recovery. Mike
  15. I like the bonus. With the way the offenses and rules are geared nowadays, a bonus should be for production on the high end of the scale. Personally I like... QB...350+ yds 3+ td’s WR & RB..125+ yds 2+ td’s TE...100+ yds 2+ td’s Just a thought Mike
  16. 9??? Whew!! I’m retired and I don’t have that much time! The others I’m in where always based on offensive points scored. But whatever you decide is just peachy. Mike
  17. There’s always one.... I snell 100% of the time on a Trokar hook with 80 lb braid exclusively when punching and flipping into heavy cover. Which I do maybe 70% of the time and have for years. I have no reason to change any part of the combination. Mike
  18. From what I’ve been told by a few guides I trust, their Platinum Signature rods are very underrated. Mike
  19. The fastest boat I’ve ever fished out of was a Bullet. We were in a tournament, fully loaded. When my boater put on a hockey goalie’s mask in 80deg temp I knew what was coming. He told me to hang on with both hands, jam my feet and to ride with my butt off the seat. When we finally came down off plane I asked how fast we went, he said 92!! Never fished with him again. Mike
  20. No need to adjust the brakes every time you change techniques. Set them to get the greatest distance using the variety lures you plan on throwing with that particular combo. Then use the knob to fine tune the reel as you change out. Adjust the knob for pitching and flipping on the loose side and use your thumb to control distance. Mike
  21. 9.9

    Beautiful Fish!! Mike
  22. The girls are roamin around looking for a nice place to bed, and will be for the next 6-7months. Some have already found a nice place to stay. This time of the year I like the North and East side, but that’s me. There are a few motels in Okeechobee City that you can stay and fish out of Scott Driver, Okee-Tantie, Buckhead, Taylor Creek or J&S. On the south end I would stay and fish out of Roland Martins place. Do a search on here for guides. A while back I listed a 1/2 dozen or so I personally fished with in tournaments and know personally. Others have done the same. Good Luck and have fun. Mike
  23. I’d say.. 5-6 for skipping 7-8 for normal spot casting 8-9 for pitching 9-10 for flipping All baitcasters (don’t use spinning at all) Mike
  24. Fenwick Techna AV w/Curado 200E. None better for all bottom contacts presentations. Mike
