Reviews
Kool-Aid Drinking Regurgitated Buzz words I see are "versatile" for every Megabass rod review and "balanced" for every Dobyns rod review. Also this "__________" fishes 2x above or way above its price point or to that effect. Saw this many times with Kistler rods then they raised their prices and now "Oh they aint worth that price get'em on sale.

Long rods vs. short rods for finesse spinning
St Croix Avid 8'ML will use senkos neds 2.8" paddle tails trout magnets crankbaits. A favorite rod of mine.

How to Set a baitcaster Inquiry
Cant really say for the DC. All the others Id set the tension loose and use however much brake is needed to control spool. Loose to me is a senko dropped from 12" falls easily quickly hits the ground and spool keeps spinning freely multiple revolutions. Id say both your examples have too much tension for my liking.

Pro Influence
Let me know what pro uses a St Croix Avid 8' Medium Light Moderate rod with 8# Nanofil throwing a senko in 20fow 120' out. That Pro is one I might patronize.

Are You Fast or Sloooowwwww?
SLOW Im a bank beater and can stay in one spot (3 foot section) for hours at times. Just fan casting the area with LONG casts. Also one cast can last 5+ minutes.

It was wacky (to me) fishing a wacky rig today
My wacky catches are mostly on the retrieve as well. Its rare for me to get bit on initial fall and I throw to 20fow extensively. I look at it as the fall is just 20' but the retrieve is 120'-130' so maybe senko is getting in the bass territory more on the retrieve.

Warranty - favorable or fiendish experiences
Fiendish was my last experience. Quantum Tour S3 reel had an issue, against my better judgement, I sent reel in cost me $11 shipping. They didnt fix my reel they sent me a replacement. The replacement was a downgraded Smoke S3. To top it off the replacement has the same issue.

Shimano vs. Lew's Reels
Overall I have crappy luck with reels no matter the brand. My 1st experience with Lews went south very quickly. I purchased a BB1 Pro and had number of issues. Squealing on the cast was very annoying(Smoke S3 has same issue) plus the level wind guide extremely loose and knobs peeled after just 4hrs use. Returned ^Chronarch MGL didnt fair so well either. Had intermittent clicking noise from thumb bar not disengaging correctly. Also started to get the gear buzz other people have experienced. Returned. ^Okuma Helios-squeal clicking. Returned. ^Shimano Stradic, Returned, returned, returned. Yep took the 4th reel to get a good one. ^Tat SV squealing on cast changed bearings twice dont use. ^SV105 sticking inductor loose brake dial dont use any longer. ^Quantum Tour S3 squeal exchanged ^Quantum Smoke S3 squeal dont use.

Finesse Swimbaiting Rod Action and Length
The 8' ML/Mod Avid I wouldnt use any line that stretches so if you are wanting Tatsu dont feel the rod will have the hook setting power for 1/4 jigheads that most likely have thicker hooks. 1/4 with 3.3 is out of weight range I have used 3/8oz Rocket shad spinner baits with the rod but the hook is rather thin on those.

Finesse Swimbaiting Rod Action and Length
St Croix Avid 8' medium light moderate spinning rod. I feel its a fantastic rod for 1/8 jighead and 2.8 fat impacts. Do use 8# nanofil or braid so hooksets are helped a bit with the no stretch lines while letting the rod be the shock absorber if needed. Oh my jig heads of choice use Trokar hooks very sharp.

New era rods
Yes more than just distance for a benefit of longer rod. That longer handle plays a big roll in added leverage throughout the day. Taking a lot of strain off your wrist and spreading it to lager muscle groups. I took couple quick pics see how the handle rests up under my forearm but the pistol grip is nothing but your wrist taking the "impact" weight of a hard hookset. And while playing a fish on retrieve that handle helps reduce stress on wrist. You get to relax your wrist/fingers more often while still in control of retrieve on bottom contact lures. Also as mentioned using two hands with one on the bottom butt area for casting is a great benefit to distribute energy over more muscles for less fatigue. Theres no doubt in my mind you will have more control using a 7' rod with avg handle length over a pistol grip.
