Daiwa Tatula CT 100 Brake dial slips?
I had same issue with SV105 it was the brake click spring. It will single click like you mention but when it slipped no noise. You have to go in and fix/adjust that "spring" key#6 https://www.reelschematic.com/wp-content/uploads/schematics/Daiwa/Tatula/Daiwa Tatula TACT-R100H_100HS_100XS.pdf

Can we exterminate silver carp?
Im not replying to the origin of how the carp got in the waterways (thats water under the bridge) and not what the topic is about. My reply is to the way they can get past locks dams and into pure waterways now, any plan would also need to combat this transfer. How do fish get into landlocked lakes that never had fish introduced by man? Critters and birds bring them in.

Can we exterminate silver carp?
How you going to stop these carp eggs from getting stuck to water bird feathers then that bird goes up river/lake and boom locks are meaningless. There has also been studies that fish eggs eaten by birds can "survive the journey" and contribute transport over land. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/fish-eggs-survive-journey-through-a-duck/ To test their hunch, the researchers acquired eight captive-bred mallard ducks from a local breeder and the eggs of two carp species from an aquaculture institute. They force-fed each duck three grams of fertilized eggs (about 500 eggs per serving) from each fish species over two separate experiments. Examination of the birds' feces revealed 18 whole eggs, which the investigators placed in an aquarium. Twelve had viable living embryos, and three hatched into normal baby fish.

Thoughts on this reel and if it’s a good buy
You are missing out on a very good reel. Mine with abec 7 bearings is set on one brake and never leaves that spot. Use it with ned rigs to whopper ploppers but fat ikas mostly and it casts those great. Now dont know the condition of THAT reel but compared to my same year ChronarchCI4 Id say you wont get a better NEW reel under $200. Youll need the $250 Zillion from Japan website to match it. The drag is super smooth, like mentioned range of lures it handles is fantastic. Its also a reel that is Made in Japan another plus. Limiting factor will be the users abilities.

Brand loyal with reels?
Ive been backed in to being loyal to shimano baitcasters. All the other brand bc reels have been duds including daiwa-sv105,tatsv lews-bb1pro quantum-tour&smoke s3, okuma helios these all have issues that cause me to either return or just not use any longer. Cant keep shelling out money for clunkers so stick with what works, shimano.

What technique should be your best rod
Radio control be it cars monster trucks airplanes heli drones boats. You can have them just for fun in the yard/lake/air or go full competitive racing. You can have one or some have hundreds. You can upgrade them with pretty parts to make "shelf queens" basically a static model that never gets used for fear of it getting scratched.

What Line Are You Using For Your 70 Sized Shimano Casting Reel?
Its a multipurpose reel not just finesse. I have 2 cu70's and line ranges from 10#-60# braid and 10#-16# fc.

Are ceramic bearing in a reel an upgrade I wanna do?
Good gains to be had with the older VBS worth the upgrade but the newer SVS very little to gain not worth upgrade.

What technique should be your best rod
The point to the ned rig is the less you feel the lure the more you catch.

What Line Do You Use With Senko's?
Personal opinion just a crapshoot. Me Im straight braid for where I fish abrasion not a concern I dont worry about bass having the intelligence to be line shy. I though wouldnt use 30# braid with senko 10# max.

What technique should be your best rod
My thought, reading through this thread for the first time, was finally mentioned with Catt's post. Expensive actually doesnt correlate to light weight. There are many $150-$200 rods that weigh in less than the high end $500-$600 offerings based off actual weights listed by end users. Quantum Smoke, Okuma Helios, Phenix Feather, Powell Enduance, St Croix Victory. Many of these are in the 3.2-3.5oz range for 7' medium to medium heavy powered rods. Ive tried and tried to find a lighter better balanced rod with equal power and length to my favorite rod (cost $150) but cant even in the high-end range of rods. Its just great marketing that gets people duped into believing the more you pay the lighter you get.

Fluoro vs Braid Casting Distance (spinning reel)
If really wanting max distance 10# braid is a better choice over both.
