Improving Your Fishing
I need to improve my crankbait fishing. I own hundreds, bet I didn't hit the century mark on cranks all year. A lot of that was due to the flooded conditions I faced a lot of the year that just weren't conducive to a good crankbait bite. It was one of best years ever for a frog though because of those flooded conditions, which was a lot of fun.

Power, Finesse, or Both?
Both and everything in between , just don't make me fish a C-rig.

1 piece 6ft UL
I have a 6' Avid Ul but I wouldn't use it for those baits, it's too light even to set the hook on a crappie. I prefer a regular light for those baits unless the jigs are tiny, less than 1/32oz.

beaver style baits.Whats your favorite and why?
Academy carries both of my favorites, the Havoc Pit Boss and the Big Bite Baits YoMomma.

~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
I don't really think so. The Chiefs have been living in a fantasy land, winning games they had no right to win. I'm going to make the prediction now, they don't win another game this season and end up last in the division. They might, just maybe, beat the lowly Titans in KC, the rest are all games they're very capable of losing. 12 NOV 27 7:30PMCST ' AT BRONCOSGAME DAY 13 DEC 4 12:00PMCST * AT FALCONS 14 DEC 8 7:25PMCST ' , ; RAIDERS 15 DEC 18 12:00PMCST * TITANS 16 DEC 25 7:30PMCST ' BRONCOS 17 JAN 1 3:25PMCST * AT CHARGERS

I saw a guy on FB with about a dozen Big Jims for sale. I almost bought them to see if you wanted them.- McCoy Mean Green Copoly/Mono
I've used it for swimbaits and it worked great.- Which st Croix??
I own a 7' MH/F LTB (among several others), it's one of my favorite rods. I don't use it as a multipurpose rod though, it's almost strictly finesse jigs and T rigs, but I'm sure it would do most of what you listed if I asked it to. I really don't think you'll be disappointed if you go with an Avid instead though.- When do you fish a Chatterbait?
This is a basic breakdown of why I choose one over the other. I'll also add that I tend to prefer the bladed jig in stained to dirty water and the spinnerbait in clearer water, but that is mostly because of the way I'm fishing them. Bladed jigs are one of my top 3 favorite baits to fish, which is why I started making my own so I could have the exact bait I wanted.- What's a good creature bait for punching?
Pit Boss and BBB YoMomma are my go to baits.- Dobyns drop shot rod
From the man himself.- ~The Road to the Super Bowl 2016 & 2017~
This week was the first time I've gotten to watch the Cowboys this year, very impressive. The way the defense attacked and swarmed the ball made me really glad I'm not an NFL quarterback. A very solid offense lead by a QB that appears to be headed for a great career could spell a winning team for a long time to come.- Learning How To Walleye Fish
Our walleye must be a different subspecies or something. The ones I catch fishing for bass often fight harder than a similar sized largemouth. I think it has something to do with the fact that I usually catch them very shallow (<5') while casting instead of trolling or jigging. I'm always happy when I feel those heavy head shakes at the initial hookset, followed by a hard steady pull and even drag peeling. Maybe they're just learning they need to fight hard because their lives probably depend on it- Small Club Politics
You can't make everyone happy. Stick with your original plan that the majority like and stick with it. You can't bend to the guys that are trying to cause issues in the first place. If they leave because you won't adjust to them, then you just don't have to worry about them bringing any more drama to your club. I started a small club or sorts a few years ago and I tried at first to make everyone happy, but it just isn't possible. If you change things to keep a few people happy, then the rest of the group gets mad and it starts a big uproar with it all falling back on you for changing things in the first place. We tried to adjust the schedule last year to keep a few guys happy who couldn't make it on regular tournament nights. It ended up making the regulars upset trying to keep track of what night we were fishing, and the ones that the schedule was adjusted for fish only a handful of times. So having done it for a few years now, I've taken the "Here's the rules and schedule, take it or leave it", approach. In the end, it doesn't really matter to me, I'll go fishing if I'm the only one that shows up.- Black Friday Fishing
No fishing for me, but I continued my game of cat and mouse with this guy. Rifle season starts Wednesday next week (which happens to be the start of my weekend), so his days may be numbered.- What Weight Jig Do U Throw Most?
1/2oz is my favorite- Arkie Jigs??
That's a good all around jighead style. I'd look at site sponsor Siebert Outdoors. Great color options and unbeatable prices for a quality, hand tied jig.- Good soft plastic colors = good jig skirt colors
They take a percentage off if you order 5 packs and then even more for 10 packs or more for each color.- Good striper casting reel?

I feel pretty good about just keeping close to those names on LOZ.- Shimanos
Most likely, they'd sell like crazy at first, then all we'd hear is how they aren't as good as the originals.- Different lines need different knots
Yup. Palomar for mono and copolymer too. I tie the SDJ with my big baits because it takes a ton of line to tie a palomar around a big swimbait. - The Lost Lures Thread
