  2. Since I can't get parts any longer I don't use my old reels at all because I don't want something to break on them.
  3. How would you feel if it broke? I have my first spincast reel, and my first spinning reel. Both are in good working condition. I don't fish with them any longer because I want to keep them good working order.
  4. I've dead sticked bottom contact baits in the summer, and burned crankbaits across deep weed beds in the late fall, and early spring. You have to let the bass tell you what they want.
  5. I hope he doesn't open a window by accident.
  6. I've got a spool of Big Game that is a few years old, and I'm still using it.
  7. This time of year I like using a Zoom super chunk or chunk jr.

There's a lot of truth in the old saying "give someone enough rope and they'll hang themselves". I've seen it happen a lot over the years.
  9. I don't do a lot of finesse fishing with really light tackle. My spinning rig is a size 30 Pflueger president on a 7' BPS micro lite rod. Not an expensive rig, but the rod is great for small crankbaits, and inline spinners.
  10. I would go with the m/f.
  11. Welcome!
  12. I've never used a bullet weight. I always tie an overhand knot around a large split shot, and then close it with a pair of pliers.
  13. I've never caught a blue catfish. I would love to hook one of those big ones that live in the Mississippi river.
  14. I've had a ct since 2018, so I got two more for Christmas. You do have to watch how you cast with them. It took me a while to figure out how to work the brakes with the tension knob.
  15. I grew up learning on right hand baitcasting reels, and left handed spinning reels. I've thought about getting a left handed reel a few times, but never pulled the trigger.
  16. I've been using duo lock snaps on moving baits for years. I've never removed the split ring.
  17. My two largest bass were both caught on the same 1/8 oz. Bitsy Bug jig with a craw trailer. The 5-1/2 was caught along the edge of a drop off that had matted vegetation growing over it. The 4-1/4 was caught on the outside edge of some water willows that were growing along a very steep drop off. They were caught about 3 weeks, and around 200' apart.
  18. #1 is to finish replacing some of my older rods and reels. #2 is to fish more with jerkbaits.
  19. Besides bass, we caught a lot of catfish, and sunfish. Usually used the sunfish for bait to catch the catfish.
  20. I don't fish if there is ice on the water, or if the wind chill is too cold. November, December, and January are the only months that I have not caught decent size bass.
  21. I just knocked out a good chunk of my holiday gift cards. I picked up a St. Croix Premier 6'6" mf spinning rod, and a Carbonlite 6'6" mf spinning rod.
  22. Welcome to the Bass Resource Forums.
  23. So far we have avoided snow this year. We are supposed to get freezing rain starting this evening. Not good for New Year's Eve. Glad I'm staying in tonight.
  24. I think the only thing I've ever bought with a pro's name attached was an Abu Garcia Hank Parker series 5600 C3 reel about 16 or 17 years ago. I didn't buy it because of the name, I bought it because it was recommended as a good reel.
  25. If your Dr. is sure it will heal without surgery then go with the PT all the way. Anytime you can avoid surgery, you should.
