  1. I fish a lot of shallow water. Probably 5 feet deep or less. I like the Mann’s one minus. I fish a lot from the bank and the shallow runners don’t hit deep snags.
  2. Work Some fishing Yardwork Got the moles out of my front yard. Currently trying to get rid of the rabbits in my back yard and repairing the damage they have caused.
  3. Around 15 mph I have to start using the anchor to hold my position. Anything stronger then I will go over to the matted vegetation on the surface, and raise up the motor. I let the wind push me across the vegetation and fish it as I go.
  4. Granola bars, and a whole lot of water. If I'm going to be doing some driving then I will stop off at White Castle and pick up some belly bombers for the trip.
  5. Fishing from the bank is a lot different than fishing out of a boat. For mosquitoes I like sunblock. It seems to work unless I get in a thick cloud of them. For ticks I use a lot of deet.
  6. It never fails. The bass start biting like crazy when I am watching the time because I have to leave soon.
  7. Prayers to both of you.
  8. If the bass aren't on the edges or on the bottom then they might be up near the surface, or somewhere in the water column, buried in the vegetation. I would be throwing a buzzbait or a popper. I would be working the bait back between those 8" and 12" spaces. Maybe a crankbait retrieved the same way.
  9. I have a bunch of the 6" size somewhere. I stopped using them when I discovered flukes.
  10. I hate using a DS around here. Most of the ponds are covered in vegetation by mid June. I fish weightless, split shot, or a light Texas rig.
  11. Right about now, in this area, is when the bass start biting better on plastics. I like to fish plastics is on a Texas rig, or weightless, but as the weather warms up more I'll be using a split shot rig. I'll fish with 3" and 4" worms and senkos on that split shot rig. If I just can't get a bite on anything else I will start fishing with a jig and craw.
  12. Sounds like your weather has been like ours. I would go with the 2nd pic and target those deep holes first and then target shallower cover or structure after that.
  13. Never made any difference to me.
  14. This time of year I have the best luck fishing with moving baits. Sometime between the last week in April and the second week in May is when the bite on bottom contact baits start picking up.
  15. Copper craw and chrome/black are my two best colors. I've had better luck with spots than with RES or traps.
  16. If the water is clear I back up a few feet from the bank after I cast out so I don't spook the bass as they are swimming right at me.
  17. Glad you had a great time.
  18. Had a root canal last Wednesday. I went in on March 26. They told me because of the virus they didn’t want to do a root canal until April. Last Tuesday they called and wanted to reschedule me for May. I told them no way get me in on my scheduled date. After the procedure was over I got another prescription for more antibiotics and the dentist said that tooth didn’t look good at all inside. No fun.
  19. I like to fish horny roads on the bottom with a t-rig. First time I told my dad about it he looked at me like I was nuts.
  20. I will start by casting a t-rig just outside the thickest tangle of branches that I can find.
  21. I use crankbaits year round. Last year shallow running crankbaits caught bass for me from ice out until November.
  22. When it’s late in the fishing trip I worry if I don’t have that fishy smell on my hands.
