  1. Defier is the lambo or nylon lines as far as manageability and casting goes. Armillo is like a chevy cavalier relative to defier.
  2. Clean the AR bearing. Soak in a degreaser or electrical rattle can spray. Let it dry. Don't put any lube on it. It can take some force to pop out but it will come out from the side plate /w some effort. Alpha platforms don't have any backplay in the handle. The only handle play they can start having is in and out if the washer under the driveshaft gets worn/lost.
  3. Depends what you want to pay. Check out rembrandt reels on Instagram and he can point you in the right direction. It will cost you more than you think to have a quality paint job. Upgrading parts wise, dress up parts you can buy from hedgehog or the tackletrap. Cleaning, there's a lot of folk out there. DVT is a site sponsor.
  4. KaruLure lures is having a 10% off sale for their vibrashocks. Karu10.
  5. @Siebert OutdoorsMakes a super duper single CO blade spinnerbait. If you bug him enough, he'll even get you a gold blade. ?
  6. It was caught in 1976 sailor.

  8. Because I know how to use a basic search engine.....there's been 10# LM caught in the past couple years and it even gives exact locations... I've Been to Ohio. Once was enough.
  9. I'm sure you're aware on how to use Google. There's been a few caught /w specifics as to locations.
  10. Was the question asked to those that only live in Ohio ?
  11. this guy gets it
  12. I'm very optimistic. Just straightforward.
  13. 10 loss NFL teams. you bet. 10# bass...no.
  14. Daiwa's in general are notorious for coming more dry than normal . I notice it more on entry level reels like the tatula. Not always the case, but happens more than it should. Odds are you'll be fine buying the reel. Just make it a point to open it up when you first get it for precautionary measures. I'm just pointing out that I've tried to order gear sets for people's 100s stateside and there's a l2-6 month backlog. Despite what Daiwa or whoever says about this being "normal". it isn't. However, I've also said that this new tatula is also a JDM variant so parts/gears should be very easy to source through PLAT. PLAT has a massive inventory of parts that Daiwa hasn't had in years. I just got brand new JDREAM 7:9 gear sets from them this winter. Odds are you'll get the parts from PLAT cheaper/faster anyway.
  15. It's more QC. It's the same gear set the 100 uses. Gears are coming far to dry as of late and causing more failures than normal. Large backlog of gearsets.
  16. The discontinued sv103 6:x if you can find one is an awesome bladed jig reel
  17. TD-Z and the non TW Steez. I've done so many of them I could do them with my eyes closed. Mindlessly easy reels to work on. Close second is the Steez SVTW. I like the things they did internally for tolerances.
  18. If you're looking at the cabela's waterproof utility boxes, get them. They're the same exact thing as the bass mafia(literally, the same thing) and have lasted me 3 years now w/o having any water issues. I only use the large blue size. The medium green isn't terribly spacious .
  19. I'm sure Way2slow can answer this more accurately but I think that year Fast Strike had cylinder #3(might be wrong on the cylinder #) issues and blowing powerheads. If it's been rebuilt and maintained, it's a rock solid motor. I had one a loooooooooonnnggg time ago I bought that was rebuilt.
  20. If it wasn't an AGS guide, then there's nothing special really about them. Even the non AGs elite uses fuji alconite. Just buy a new guide and replace it. Either do it yourself or pay somebody locally to do it. It's gonna be less than 20$. Mindlessly easy repair. you're hard on your gear, so you say. A company shouldn't be(or even expected ) responsible for sending you something you likely damaged.
  21. I’ll tell you the same thing that my granddaddy told me after he lost one of his family jewels in the war… You only need one boy.
  22. Dearest Mike, As your reigning fantasy football champ, i feel that qualifies me as an expert on almost everything. With that, buy them. They’re ribbed. Get em from @Siebert Outdoors. sincerely, your fantasy football champ.
  23. The RCS 1016 SVg1 is the stock spool that comes in the Steez SVTW. There's two listings for the same spool on Hedgehog for the stock SVTW spool and the RCS. They're the same thing. I personally love the spool . I also put it in my Steez A's . The RCS1000 is , in my opinion , a faster less aggressive braking profile. This is of course dependent on what reel you put it in. It behaves differently in different reels. The 1012 used to have a strong following back in the day as well.
  24. Look at the Majorcraft ML casting rods. Gonna likely have to go JDM for what you want.
