The backpacks dont work for me, just a decent small sling types more my style pond fishin. It dont way near as much, and i dont sweat to dead carrying it. Esspecially when it 95 degrees out.

Personally, ive had more than few of the stock hooks on the 1.5s etc come back to me with bent sections. Although the fish was still brought in,it was enough for me to switch out to kvd hooks. I used both short shank and regular depend on lure. My favorite brand by far is OWNER,but money was tight at the time and went with kvds. No bent hooks and sticky sharp also.

I use alot of Kietech myself. A bottle of mendit will be your friend,once you remove the hooks. I remove hooks from all plastics no matter salt content. Used plastics are left to dry, and fixed with mendit or tossed.

I think its more of a pride,image issue. I bought my wife and daughter an OMEGA Z03. I must say i am really impressed with its performance so far. Numerous 5plus bass and catfish,with no problems. The one thing that will help,is an occasional long cast or letting the line out quite a ways,and reelinging it back in under slight tension,which i do with my bait casters,keeps line packed and less loops etc.

Id say if you have any doubts about it,take it back and exchange it. Check the replacement to see if its better before leaving. A 240.00 reel should work flawless. As far as a 1000 size reel having more resistance, thats nothin but B/S I have 1000size,1500 size,2500size,and they all reel the the same. Hope all works out for you sir

Those XML rods are really good rods. The ones i have--split grip-- have never gave me an issue. They came with a 25year warranty card, no questions or money to exchange. They are much better made than xmls today also.

Used up gift cards at tw, on lews tp1 speed stiks. The reason was for the grip,reel seat, and the microwave guide system. As far as color, its ok i guess. I clean rods up when needed,so this one will be no different.
