Famous Fisherman Who Inspired You
I don't think most would think he was famous, but the Man who tought me the most about Bass fishing was a local gentleman named Don Shade. He was on the Pro Staff of some different Companies. Like Mepp's etc.. Being I didn't have anyone in my family that seriously fished, and I loved to fish, my Mother knew him and ask him to take me. He mentored me a lot and I cherished every time he'd take me and I hope he knew how much it meant to me. He's now passed but I still think back on our many trips and truly miss my Pap Shade. Brian. As a side note. Look up the PA State Record Largemouth Bass, that's him.

Suffix advance
I've tried Advanced Mono twice in 10 and 12lb.. It starts out well, casts, handles, low stretch. But that lasts about 2 weeks then it gets chalky with lots of memory. Switched back to McCoy, Yo-Zuri, XXX or Tritanium. Brian.

Huge trout on a Zara Spook
Fishing a big rock flat hoping to find some feeding Bass and couldn't keep these buggers away. I landed about 8 and lost at least that many. Brian.

"Dead zone" bass?
There's about a 100 yard section of bank on a little local lake we call "The dead bank". There's no cover, rock, anything at all on this featureless mud bank. But, every once in a while it coughs up a Pig. Brian.

Lets settle this once and for all. Whats the greatest western movie ever made?
I don't think it's the top, but I really like "The Cowboys". They may not be considered a western, The Outlaw Jose Wales and Jeremiah Johnson. Unforgiven and Pale Rider are my 1&2. Brian.

New Chronarch G
I have mine on ARK Tharp Series Rods. 3 on Money Makers and 2 on Hammers. They're almost exclusively used on my Florida forays. They fish well above their price point. Brian.

Rod and reel heaven
What application did you purchase it for? Brian.

Who's bait?
Thanks. Was leaning that way or thought maybe Xcalibur.

Chatterbaits offshore
Amen. I've fished offshore where in any direction you couldn't see land. I was also fishing in 4' of water. Brian.

Opinion on reel condition
Rod Socks and reel covers. Rod socks come off when loading the boat, reel covers come off when used and back on when placed back down. I can pick a combo off the deck and switch the reel cover from the one I'm setting down to the one I'm using in seconds. Brian.

Road To The Super Bowl 2023
I bleed Eagle Green, but after watching their performance the last 3 games, I don't think they're going anywhere. Brian.

Reel Maintenance
Amen. I clean all my frame and pinion bearings in an Ultrasonic. After they are completely dry they go into a beaker with heavy synthetic oil and ran through the Ultrasonic. This really helps the hvy oil migrate to the inside of the sealed bearings. I have never experienced a geary feeling from those again. Brian.

Disassemble and do a thorough cleaning of it. It's a fishing reel not a Jarvik Heart. Watch a few Youtube videos and go at it. Brian.

Steez HLC Question
I have 2 HLC Zillions. I'm not sure of the braking profile of those compared to Steez. I don't use them for throwing finesse type stuff but have absolutely no problem throwing 1/4oz. anything. I can bomb 1/2oz. Lipless, drop down to a 1.5 size Squarebill or a 5" weightless Stickbait without a hitch, might have to go a click or 2 up on the dial, but zero issues with 14lb Fluoro. Brian.
