Its A Rivian!!!
That might make for some interesting in depth journalism. No way that states (and some counties and cities) are prepared to lose big billion dollar chunks of gas tax quickly. If state governments aren't actively opposing EV's, I'd bet they're doing it sneaky-like. I don't see how you can easily shift that tax burden to 'all' electricity consumers...though maybe they will. We're going to have to see some fundamental changes before too very long

This one comes with. Those that don't, I just tie direct....maybe that's why I have less luck with others...lol

Seaguar Abrazx
Send a thank you note. Good stuff. Very good for bottom contact. If you like it, I recommend InvisX next time you want to buy flouro....same mfr, similar price, slightly more manageable....but nothing wrong with AbrasX

That one is a Nichols Lake Fork spoon...but I don't think it would have mattered if I tossed a soup spoon. If they didn't eat it on the initial fall, they had no hesitation tracking it down on the retrieve. Funny, I don't think I had any hits doing a big lift/drop....but plenty while swimming it

does anyone compete (Successfully) in a bass tournament in a small boat?
Maybe because on TV/video/pics, you'd not be able to see "MERCURY" in 4 inch letters on the back of the boat

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Had maybe best couple hours of bass fishing I've ever had. I found a concentration of bait that was so thick, I got false bottom returns over about a city block...13 feet down over 28 FOW. Started throwing a 5 inch spoon and immediately started whacking them. A couple over 5...another 10 over 3.

Blade Baits
Baitcast MM with 12# mono. Always cast and hop....tried vertical a few times, but got discouraged quickly.

Help me pick a new fish finder
Best of luck. Comparing fishfinders is hard...at least it is for me. The manufacturer web sites are no help. If you have decided on Hbird, you have already eliminated a lot of water. TW used to have decent charts that compared features of a brand, but the new site design screwed that up, too. I suggest watching some videos of guys that compare Hbird units ....like Clear Water Fishing....there are others. If you have a bass boat dealer nearby that does a lot of installs, they might know enough to help. If you can maintain your budget, I think you will have few enough choices to narrow it down pretty quickly. I haven't used Humminbird in years, so I can't much...but I do sympathize and know that videos can help.

Blade Baits
Wow....those are a bit steep....I lose blade baits at a rate far higher than any other lure. I'm not sure I'm ready for those yet.

Blade Baits
Thanks. I will check them out. Was considering a blade this past weekend, but I looked at the FF and it said 59*, so I figured I'd wait a week or two. Now, I will break them out this coming weekend.

Dobyns Champion Extreme XP?
I got a DX744 for jigs and didn't like it at all. However, it is now my primary spinnerbait and buzzbait rod, and I highly recommend it for those.

Do left handers ...
I'm left handed, but always said I am 'left-armed'. I write and eat left handed. But, I throw, bat, bowl, golf right. I cast left and reel right. I've tried switching it up, like using my wife's casting or spinning gear (left hand reeling) and it is bad bad bad...lol

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly Stik: A score and basic review of rods up to $250.
Make that ten. Broke one last weekend. Actually, I'm surprised it lasted this long. It was the fourth, and last, Aetos that I owned. First couple broke when I looked at them wrong. This one was MHF that served as my chatterbait rod for many years. I was putting rods in the locker and picked it up in the middle...well...a bit closer to the tip than the middle, but six guides in the piece I was left holding, so it didn't seem too egregious at the time. So...time to shop for a new chatterbait rod

What do I need for winter kayaking?
I'll break skim ice to get out. As long as rod guides aren't freezing, it is warm enough to fish from my kayak. Layers NRS Boundary boots Bibs Knit cap Hand warmers in pockets; I can't fish in gloves

How often do you go into your tacklebox while fishing?
Most trips, not often enough. I have a strong tendency to try to force feed bass stuff I think they should want. It's a rare trip that I don't come home thinking of something I wish I had tried.

I got really lucky...lesson learned!
Several years ago, I took my brother in law's boat out, which had a brand new remote controlled trolling motor. On the way out, I marked a waypoint on the gps. Couple hours later I managed to convince the remote control TM to head back to the waypoint.....at top speed. Only problem was....there was a rockpile the size of a VW out of the water between me and the waypoint. Panic-stricken, I could do NOTHING to convince that boat to go some direction - ANY direction other than right for the rocks. I managed to pull the plug on the TM before we put a hole in my BIL's Tracker. Me and technology pretty much rarely see eye to eye. Nothing much remote on my boat....an extra trim switch up front...some cool deck lights which usually work, though not always.....an automatic bilge pump which rarely works right. Same with my car....power windows and locks....that's about it. I dread buying next car

Creature Baits
No. But, I admittedly have not given them a fair shake yet. I try them occasionally, but put them down pretty quickly. I need one good confidence bite to commit...to most anything. Water temps just now dipping under 60, and lmb are still herding bait at various depths, so it is a perfect time to try harder...maybe this weekend

Creature Baits
I got to thinking this past weekend that I could fairly easily get rid of everything else I own and do just fine with nothing else...maybe add a spinnerbait and a jerkbait.

Help with any tip on this cool Fall Temps.
The don't know that it is less than 50*

How many states have you fished and what is your opinion of them?
WI, MN, MI, RI, CT, WA, VA, MD, TN, AL, NC, Ontario Would fish any of them again...except maybe CT and RI....lol...probably some great saltwater opportunities, but all I recall is bluefish and they were....disappointing

FG users
I fish three times a week and average about 8 rods with leaders every time out. I pretty much only re-tie leaders when they get too short. Some can last months of regular fishing.

buying blade baits
I never had painted blade baits that I thought were better than chrome, but I don't know why you couldn't. If they don't have great hooks, you may end up wanting to upgrade them if you want repeat customers...but then profitability might be difficult
