Pooping silver ain't nothing to sneeze at

I broke down and bought one five or six years ago. The total cost was stupid. The time it took to rig it was stupid. Storing it...in the car, on the boat and/or tied on....was stupid. Snagged it and lost it on very first cast. Never tried another....but I did snag up a relatively new looking full rig from lake bottom a few months ago, so I will have to try it again. Nearly all my fishing is from a kayak now, and I just haven't wanted to deal with it.

They had a demo at an event at Guntersville a couple years ago. I didn't paddle it, but the consensus seemed to be that it was an expensive novelty. At least for fishing. The weight, speed and seat are nice, but not much good for bass fishing. Storage and 'mod-ability' very limited. And that was back when they retailed for less than 9K. I always thought that Kevlar or carbon fiber would have a place in our market, but durability and cost never got close to where I thought they'd be.

Two things I do before walking into a lot, aside from research; secure financing from my bank or credit union, and sell or arrange to sell old car elsewhere. Remove two big variables that dealer considers aces. Although, I have done the dealer financing for a couple months before moving the loan to my bank or paying it off. Related..... We have absolutely loved dealing with Webuyanycar. Not sure if they are nationwide, but if in your area check them out before selling. We have gotten far more than what a dealer can offer and the process is so fast and hassle-free.

Nice. I have used Hummingbird Fishing Buddy on rentals for years. Makes a huge difference. I even take it to Canada on fly-in trips for walleye and northerns.

Do you need a new crankbait? This sounds like an opportunity to justify a new kayak instead! Anyway, Norman DD22 doesn't pull you as much. Keitech on underspin is an option. Lipless and, especially, blade baits are your winter friends. Optimum BLT can sub for a deep crank, but won't float up when it hits wood.

When I'm on the bank, accuracy is occasionally important. Distance is important far more often. As to which you will prefer, it is hard to predict. I bought multiple rods between 7 and 7'4", intending them for jig/worm rods. Some turned out to be great for jigs. Some are used for other things now. I like around 7'-7'1" for most pitching and casting into cover. I prefer 7'4" to 7'6" for working bottom any deeper than about 12 feet deep.

What about the other 25? I love his early stuff, too. But he was all over the place soon after. I give him a lot of credit for making music on his terms. But not a lot after the early 80s really appealed to me. He didn't mind giving the finger to corporate music powers, so he probably suffered with weaker promotion and exposure.

7. I have always appreciated the music, but I the growl-yell vocals are so off-putting for me. I can handle a line or short verse, but any more than a few seconds and I give up on a song. I recently stumbled into this U.K. version for the first time. It doesn't rock as well as the standard classic rock U.S. version....and it could benefit from more flute from the other. But I find it a lot more interesting, musically

Dropping anchor requires a certain amount of commitment to a spot....more than I usually can muster before I get bit. There are a few select spots.....big spots....where I have enough positive experiences to take that plunge, but usually I'm impatient

Yeah...I see that. I'm on a reservoir that has numerous 'arms', each named for the creek that feeds them. The bends I was trying to fish are probably about 200' wide.

Not rejoicing here yet, unfortunately. I was out on Sunday and there was only one ski boat, but it was nearly unbearable. Bass were schooling in middle of creek bends. For whatever reason, the ski boat didn't go out in main lake and just went up and down the creek I was trying to fish.....for over two hours. Between the wake, the music and the beginner skiers, it was beyond annoying. Hopefully, it was their last time out this year

Slay Nation was a growing outfit. They were a decentralized group with regional tournaments around the country. Fished one a couple years ago. Not sure if they are still viable. Also, if you have any HP restricted or electric lakes around, there's almost certain to be a club with jon boats holding tournaments. I find that FB state and regional bass fishing pages are pretty useful.

I lose plenty, but still come out way ahead because of what they save. I tried a telescoping pole and it was nearly impossible for me to store and use in a kayak. I have a hard enough time using them from a boat.

It is hard to stop fishing and work on learning, but it will pay dividends down the road. Skipping, casting, cranking, dog-walking, grass-ticking, pitching, punching, etc....all good skills that didn't come naturally to me.... had to stop and work at them
