Thanks guys! I actually have been using electrical tape for awhile, and in the rain it is awfully slick, which scares me just because of the kinds of bites you get on these rods, and it is often raining when you do. looks like the rod wrap over the top of the tape would be the way to go. thanks!

I have two rods that I absolutely love, but with the reel mounted, there is about 1.5" of exposed threads in front of the reel hood thing. How would a wrap of cork tape to cover them work? The reels will almost never come off, so it could be semi-permanent. Its pretty dang annoying to have your index finger rubbed raw from those things after a long day, 'specially on $250 rods >
  3. 50?????? Psssssssst! Try 90, and real hard to find! I haven't had a ton of success with it yet though
  4. speed, dude, i'm not sure, but a guess, 2/0?
  5. If you are gonna run an exposed hook use one of these, or one similar http://www.***.com/descpage-RSH.html trebles on the bottom have a VERY unfortunate habit of gill hooking big fish :-[
  6. Thanks again guys! Can't wait to go get some more of them evil 5lbers! Jerbs, course I got the chaw in, way back in the right cheek, like always, lol. and I left the background in because, hey, they're just spots......LOL!
  7. I sure do. After a very long fuzzy night while I was at school, I woke up laying next to one. I still have nightmares. . . . .
  8. Very Cool Matt! One idea: Get rid of some of those non fishing air head dudes you guys have, and replace them with some non fishing airhead HOT GIRLS! lol
  9. that is too freaking cool CJ
  10. I know Avid! Being a freak of nature makes for some lack luster fish pics sometimes, thats why I squat down alot, makes me more compact, LOL! I'll tell you guys, those big spots are some MEEEEEEEAN SOBs! They hit it like they want blood! This means I have broken my PB's for spots and smallmouth this year so hopefully in the next 2 months I can pull off the Trifecta Come on 15+!!!!!!!..............<------------------- wishful thinking
  11. I have been working for myself for the last few weeks, because work at my normal job is slow. Bid out a nice little deck for some people and will make a pretty good pile of cash off of it. My tournament partner is working with me. We drove the fifteen minutes to the gas station by the job and I thought out loud "I should be fishing". Well, as it turns out, I have little willpower, so we went back for the boat We got to the lake to find exactly what I was expecting, approaching storm, overcast and windy conditions ;D ;D ;D ;D. Perfect conditions for the big spotted bass in this lake. Threw one of the baits that I build for awhile with no love on top, so I picked up the 10" TT. On about the 3rd cast, I get freight trained. Slide her into the net and she is my new PB spot at 5lbs! Sweet! About 20 minutes later after 1 bite that I missed, my buddy and I cast as far as possible at about the same time. He gets a blowup and I see that it is a big fish, so I start burning my bait back, he dumped it cause he sucks so I slow back down, as soon as I slowed down, she whacked it near the surface. I thought she was bigger because she has a monster head for a spot, but she was real lean at 5lbs2ozs, so another new PB! I felt like Triton Mike out there catching big spots on the TT! Good times, specially on a day that I was supposed to be at work ;D
  12. whats up jerbs!
  13. What about Infidel?!?!? Where you at dude? :-/
  14. I like that anology SENKOSAM
  15. its ok Matt, I think he is a hobbit, so its hard to get a size comparison ;D
  16. I would tend to agree with this, but I would like to point out that earthworms don't really occur with any kind of frequency in lakes and reservoirs. My theory is that if a fish sees something moving slowly along the bottom, it falls into the food category, LOL. Plain and simple the vast and utter majority of a largemouth's diet consists of other fish and crawfish. But they will occasioanally eat anything that looks like food, and sometimes even things that don't! $40 for some snakes and a bunch of filler? NO THANKS! He may have 800 fish over ten pounds, but if you compared his numbers on jumbo shiners to his numbers on the snake, my guess is that the shiners account for at least 3/4 of those fish.....Jumbo shiners cost about $2 out here...but you don't get a CD with them LOL!
  17. I run a 87 Sea Nymph Fish Tracker I call it the Sea Nympho. Been meaning to put an " O" after the decal on the side.
