I’m using a fluke or a trigged bait of some sort..
  2. Tariffs on China delayed for 90 more days yesterday in case anyone missed that.
  3. Thanks for that reminder, I got caught up in the Holiday thing last year..
  4. This. Ordered some Nomad D-Trac 80 deep diving crank baits for Kentucky lake, the hooks are BKK and they are maybe the sharpest, stickiest hooks I’ve ever seen. They’re designed after triple-grip hooks. Whether or not they maintain sharpness or strength has yet to be determined but I’m gonna try them before I change them out. The brand is doing good on some swimjigs I’ve got.. Strength of hook is important, I’ve been using Lucky Craft square bills and deep divers and I’ve had a few hook failures. They have straightened out a couple times on 5 pounders. Investing in better quality hooks and split rings just adds more expense to an already expensive bait. It sucks anytime we lose a modified Japanese bait. BKK = Chinese company
  5. I remember its introduction as well and really had little interest in using it initially. What I did see were rods being destroyed on hook sets, guides on rods becoming grooved w cuts, anglers reporting lacerations from trying to break off snags etc. I don’t remember exactly but one prominent company claimed Kevlar in its blend 😂. Spool lips, reels, rods began to fortify the product. But for a few years it was pretty wild.
  6. Delivery’s are still sluggish though. No extra charges probably just increased volume. Use FedEx if at all possible
  7. No PB but I always started w a trap on the ST. John’s River and always caught nice fish.
  8. I was looking around and found this on the RedZone by none other than our very own Catt.. RIP Catt, miss you.
  9. I have 1 suspending Rat’L’Trap left. I bought them in about 94-95
  10. Depends on you, that rod was introduced in 2010. Before Loomis closes out a rod series they allow vendors to deeply discount the rods 40-50% off normal MSRP. I think that rod has at least a few recoil guides if not all recoil guides. I also think what @FloridaFishinFool said about making a better offer is the way to go unless you just gotta close the deal asap. Oh, this is not the same NRX+ rod that retails now..
  11. Man.. I’m sure I couldn’t do it, unless they were on xrays.. but they are a very good buy, (paying in advance) Maybe you’ll get them in time for a good fall bite.
  12. Last time I waited 6 months for anything I was on a Mediterranean cruise and waiting to get home to see “hot mama” 🤣
  13. Trey wins St. Clair.
  14. Used them on the Flight deck for 7 years, I manually inflated mine daily, fired twin co2 cartridges off weekly.. Being blown off the deck and dropping 90’ isn’t the time to consider your pfd and whether or not it’s gonna hold air or fire off when you hit the saltwater. Old habits die hard.
  15. Treys 1st fish was 6 pounds. He’s in the lead w 4 fish. He’s in 1st place in AOY points.
  16. Trey is in 1st and has about a 4 pound lead at 1:16 PM.. water is busy and water is in motion.
  17. Yep, that TW sale price was impossible to pass up.
  18. Something about fishing the Canadian side hence no license on check, happened to a couple guys but I don’t think it led to a DQ.. I do know they had to empty their live well and buy a Canadian license. Unless Ed, DQ’d hisself, I heard that he self reported on this so that’s all I know on it. I believe there were a few people involved..
  19. Super Spooks come with treble hooks on them. Even all the copy’s as Lucky Craft, Daiwa, Megabass etc.. So why or how is a 3/0 hook being employed? Try PLine CX on spinning, it’s a soft line with great line management capabilities. I would try the 6 pound on your 2000 size reel , avoid over filling or spooling on backwards. Fluorocarbon lines are stiffer than a mono or a soft co-poly lines.
  20. Me too, I know the department (fishing) manager at BPS Clarksville, Indiana store. I chat w him a fair amount and he drags his rig up twice a year and him and his wife just crushes them.. bedding fish everywhere and no matter how many times they’ve been caught they’ll hit anything over and over. He says their mouths are tore up from being caught so much. He also said weather is a huge factor. It would be a blast to go and catch 3 pounders all day 😂
  21. Trey is zigzagging all over this morning. He said these fish either hit it on the initial cast, otherwise nothing. But now he’s speed fishing that minnow back to the boat and he’s stuck two and lost one.
  22. I fished them years ago, late 90’s I just found that with Loomis they covered all my needs. Lately I’ve been hearing more about them again. It’s hard to know if you can’t get your hands on one.
  23. Are these Falcon rods that good now? Seems like I’m hearing alot about them nowadays..
  24. Yup, we need something more expensive than Megabass.
