If that’s a glass rod it may be a little soft, nonetheless since you’re asking, just give it a try and see. Experience is the best teacher..

Secondary Conditions Importance: UV Light, Barametric Pressure, Lunar, PH, Etc.
(Water temperature and bait types.) Food types are critical except when they are nesting. Oxygen is critical. Time of year as in pre-spawn, spawn, post, then summer doldrums followed by Fall. These seasons determine how we should approach our day on the water. Our waterways are also vastly different, Florida vs Kentucky.. Tennessee vs Texas then we have the Western states, totally different water and different fishing methods. The science concerning our sport over the past many years has been fascinating & most helpful but I’d argue it’s imperfect. Nonetheless it’s our roadmap to understanding and our interpretation of this information has to be considered. When these type of threads start there are still debates on one topic or another of this science which proves people and their understanding is different. One thing is certain, you better find the schools of fish. You can understand the science but if you can’t locate the fish.. Now, let’s talk about FFS and strolling zig zag zig zag zig zag 😂😂 No thanks, give me a stretch of hydrilla and a flipping stick and I’m good.. 🙂

Rod repair tip
That’s a great solution for some people, in fact there was a member here not long ago that broke a twenty year old IMX rod that he dearly loved. He wanted it repaired and sent it in to DVT ..

Looking for recommendation on Rod/Reel setup for my son
What you’re seeing is the result of a budget reel. Generally, you get what you pay for. I agree with @bulldog1935 on removing braid and replacing with soft mono or PLine CX which is a soft limp line. (Co-poly)

It doesn’t feel heavy. It’s better balanced w the carbon grip than the original Evergreen combat was.. It’s an amazing caster and unbelievable on feel.. I've been using glass for deep cranking for years. I can’t be 100% but I’m pretty sure this is a Daiwa rod. Reel seat is likely Zaion, craftsmanship is superb, made in China. My first glass rod was also Daiwa, it was a beautiful rod also and fishing it was a joy.. I use a Loomis IMX CBR Pro-blue for Lucky Craft BDS 2 up to size 6 in the spring time shallows.. The Evergreen will handle a large Colorado or Indiana blade easily as well. Rick Clunn used glass w spinner bait during both his St. John’s river wins. 2016-2019. @HawkeyeSmallie Tried to answer you but it’s in moderator airspace for some reason.

Fishing Lines
Do they still make that line? You must be sitting on a stash of it, I’m thinking it’s been discontinued. No matter, PLine CX is just as soft a line as far as a co-poly line is concerned.

Who Manufacturs WHAT!?
Let’s face it, we can all look at rods and determine EVA, vs Cork, vs Carbon grips. Most of us can examine a rod and determine Fuji, Alconite, Sic, AO , recoils.. The real problem is blank material. How many of us can actually and truthfully know or determine blank material? We hear the claims and quite frankly w so many rods coming from China this could never be proven by the consumer .Or even litigated. Toray carbon is one of the most common materials available and a top tier product but how do I know I’m getting Toray carbon from China? Via Japan? It's important guys share information on the rods and performance because it’s not possible to view rods online and determine a rod blanks material, the marketing jargon is misleading, to make matters worse, many higher end models won’t even say anything about their pre peg material. Or state proprietary.. or something else like trade secret. Absolutely true concerning rod blank’s material..
