  1. Same here. Although not with Trokar hooks, I’ve certainly tore large holes in the soft membrane portions of LMB, sure have, which is exactly why I only use Gammy or Owner needle point hooks for Trigs.
  2. I haven’t had to pay any tariff amount on my orders coming from Japan since January and I’ve made 5 orders w one one the way..
  3. Nice, so Isuzu took the ABU design and engineered a much better reel, are those reels all direct drive? My father had direct drive reels on steel casting rods.. even as a kid I remember thinking, there has to be something better 😂🤣😂 I would sneak cast one and think something was wrong or I broke it! Those reels were one thing but steel rods, goodness gracious to top it off I think they had like 4 guides on it.
  4. Thank you both. Very interesting, very cool.
  5. That’s stupid crazy light! 3.9 oz. That’s not an ABU, wondering the maker.. Did you build that rod or hire GreyWolf to build it, I’ve seen his work on the auction site but didn’t see anything like that although he had plenty of blanks for sale. All of that combined is still lighter than a Pocket Fisherman! Cool rig for sure.
  6. ^^ yup, and pushing 6.5 ounces. my GLX F&P Xtra Heavy weighs 6
  7. That reel is in immaculate condition and that’s my favorite color out of the older, original Abu’s. Good picture, you can see the magnetic mod you made, at least in part. I thought about doing that to my 1000HD, not sure I’m gonna need it yet, but it had crossed my mind.

I’m look for a waterproof metal detector to begin my hunting for GOLD! Anyone on here have a good recommendation?
  10. Wasn’t aware of it till just now. I’ll give it a look/see.
  11. Definitely sweet rods, that’s the 7 footer there. In the other picture (purple zil) that’s the 6’6” glass/T700-800 rod and it’s a sweet stick also. Haven’t used the 7’ 5” much but I’m thrilled with it nonetheless. One of these days we’re gonna have to start a thread on Brad Loomis and his Patriot rod co. (Talon)
  12. 🤣😂🤣 that’s the Senko slinger right there!
  13. Oh we get a second choice ?
  14. Love ya Catt.. ✝️✝️✝️😢😢😢
  15. Find better structure. No rocks, oyster beds, no wood etc is far from ideal, largemouth enjoy viable structures. A muck bottom isn’t ideal and those may not even be largemouth bass.. At any rate, a jig & trailer, a Carolina rig with worm, 8-10 XD crankbait. Large spoons work well at times. I have some 6” I use on Kentucky late but down there I prefer a deep crank or jig A 10” Powerbait worm works fished on the old river/creek channels.. PS: Try a Denny Brauer structure jig in 1/2 oz, my favorite for deep work.
  16. Why not Shimano? Gears to “buzzy”?
  17. I fished with my Senior Chief in about 88 on Orange lake, Florida. We were fishing a massive section of Hydrilla and I was flipping, he was using a plastic worm and threw out and set his rod down, he called lunch and grabbed a flask. 😂 20 minutes and his rod went nuts damned if he didn’t boat a 7 pound Largemouth. Yes, it was gut hooked and Senior opted to mount the fish but I literally couldn’t believe that he caught that fish “dead sticking “ Yes. It’s a great way to kill a great fish and that’s a fact..
  18. Great. Now when I watch the movie MouseHunt, I’ll be thinking about this thread and @TnRiver46 🤣😂🤣
  19. Awesome post, very nicely done.
  20. I hear ya, I’ve bought 4 Zillion reels plus handles etc. this year. I think I’m done also, we’ll see. Is that the new Steez?
  21. I’ve been using Yozuri baits for many years, as of late the DB3 square bills, they’re excellent and can withstand hard knocks and bangs. The newest Hardcore series is a little fatter, with the magnetic transfer system will throw even better. Honestly they are all great baits and I’m sure you will love them too after you’ve been able to use them and develop confidence. The Damiki DC-100 is a trick little bait also, same magnetic cast system but in a smaller profile. At 7/16 in weight they will work excellent in the small rivers I fish. It was a great sale and I should have spent double the money. I also bought some new Bagley cranks but I haven’t used them so can’t say much about them yet.
  22. These are some of the crank baits I scored on from TackleWarehouse during the 4th of July sale..
  23. Zillion HD 1000 SLP’s purple is different from ZPI’s purple but I knew this beforehand.
