  1. The Falcon Low Rider is another excellent rod !
  2. I agree with Boomstick on the Dobyn's Sierra line. The 735 C is the 7'3" extra heavy. I'd lean more towards the 7' 704c or 7'3" 734c. Both of those are listed on TW as Heavy. I really like the Dobyn's Sierra line and they have a tendency to fish light for their rating. So it would be more like a MH+ then a true H in my opinion. I think they are a really good bang for the buck. FM
  3. I'll knock it out when I get home this evening. FM
  4. I fished a heavily pressured lake this weekend. I was using my livescope in some standing timber. IMHO these fish have already gotten wary/wise of it. Without casting I had fish that I watched just flat ran away when I "scoped" them. FM
  5. Ketch Polycarbonate. It comes in 26" and 32" models.
  6. I'm running a PA14 and I have a Garmin 93sv UHD with Live Scope. The two transducers are on my right side on Ram ball mounts. I can deploy the as needed. The sonar transducer uses a ram mount ball on the H rail. The live scope is a 1.5" ball flush mounted on the plastic plate. Batteries are under the seat. Yes, I run two batteries. The head unit is on a 17ah FPV battery and the live scope battery is a Dakota lithium 23ah. I've been running this set up for about three years. FM
  7. Squaw Creek? FM
  8. Well on my other kayak (Hobie PA14) I am running a Torqueedo 1103AC. It has 155 lb's of thrust and it does make a difference. I can cruise at 5.5 mph at about 50% throttle and firewalled is about 6.3- 6.4 mph. I walk away from the Xi3's that are on PA14's at the start of a tournament. What I am more concerned about is how well they perform spot lock wise and any problems maintenance wise or other problems that they have been experienced or encountered. I should have been more specific in my original post. Thank you for your reply, airshot FM Thanks ATA, I'll check that out when I get home this evening. FM What motor are you running Fly? FM
  9. Howdy Y'all, I've got a new Kayak on the way. I'm planning on outfitting it with a spot lock trolling motor. I know Motor guide has the Xi3 and Xi5 with spot lock and remote. Minn Kota has the Terrova 55 and 80lb. I want to have it salt water compatible too. Weight is one of my big concerns. Batteries will be Lithium Ion 12V if I go the 55lb route or 24V if I go 80lb. I'd love to hear about your experiences or any insights you'd like to provide. Thanks, Fishingmickey
  10. I am going to have to T-rig up a rod for this weekend with the 3" power bait grubs. FM
  11. The following is IMHO hence all of the "I's". I like Fluorocarbon line especially for bottom contact baits. I feel it has a different stretch then Mono and it sinks. I think that Mono stretches over a wider tension range then Fluoro. I think Mono recovers from being stretched much better then Fluoro because it is nylon. I feel that it is definitely more sensitive then Mono for a couple of reasons. It's stiffer and it sinks with the bait much better equaling less bow in the line. I have tried many different type of Fluorocarbon and have settled on these three for my primary use, Seaguar Tatsu, Diawa Samuri and Seaguar Invisx. I felt that FC shooter and Sniper are very good strong lines but they are stiffer and have more memory then my above three. No, I don't use KVD line conditioner. FM
  12. I would like to join in the festivities this year.
  13. Great write up, Mike!
  14. Berkley used to sell Power worms in 100 packs. It appears they still do. I haven't used up my 100 pack of 7" pumpkinseed yet. FM
  15. Put the stops on the cables where they enter the yak? Maybe crimp a split shot (easily removable) on each cable at it farthest point in the turn. Fishingmickey
  16. Lefty, righty here. Right handed reel, left handed caster, bait casting or spinning. No switching hands during a cast. I do feel it makes a difference. I can throw a spinner bait in 9" of water with 4" of algae growing up from the bottom and get the lure started instantly and not get fouled with algae. I just think it is more efficient, especially when making short accurate casts to pockets or holes. I'm left handed and semi ambidextrous. I can do somethings either way. Like throwing a ball. Writing is left handed. FM
  17. Hello sgjackson, If your interested. I have Alpha Angler Chatterbound rod that I would be willing to part with for 150. Here's a link to the rod. The rod is in good condition, pretty much new and I just don't use it enough. I'm trying to thin my herd. https://www.alphaangler.com/products/alpha-angler-chatterbound Regards, Fishingmickey
  18. Cdn, It doesn't take forever. It's pretty much net the fish. leave fish in net in water, get camera in position. Wet the measuring board. Remove the fish from net lay it flat, take pic. Release fish. normally under a minute from netting to release. I've found the best way to photograph is to be fast. The fish will lay down much better and faster if you are quick, make sure his pectoral fin is flat and the board is wet. CPR - Catch Photo Release is the way to go IMHO. FM
  19. I now await the anticipated 2024 Ice out thread. FM
  20. Sounds like it is time for a Kayak, Jedi. FM
  21. Spro Little John is the Schiznit. FM
  22. One of my all time favorites. One foggy overcast morning many Aprils ago I managed a very large limit of Bass on the Dying flutter. Bass color pattern though! FM
  23. I like Choporoz idea of a pvc pipe slide. Put a boat trailer winch or pulley system at the top maybe? FM
  24. Fishingmickey replied to TOXIC's topic in Fishing Tackle
Looks like it would be good for trolling offshore and tuna fishing. FM
