  4. You'll get it, just takes them forever to get them. I think I went 10 months on one purchase and 8 months on another. FM
  5. Food and Beverage would be my guess, Volzfan. Gotta love it, Koz. I hope you snag a big ass bonus check for getting it done. Hope the opening goes great! Best, Fishingmickey
  6. It is stiffer (not as bendy as mono) and that is why transmits vibrations up the slack line to your hands. Braided line transmits better but that is only when it is taut/tight. Fluorocarbon line "IMHO" is necessary for jig, T-rig fishing because of it's greater sensitivity. FM
  7. *and wished he had a different reel FM
  8. If decimal points count as periods, I've got seven. FM
  9. Hi King Fisher, The two dealers that I am aware of that actually have some parts in stock are Mariner Sails in Dallas, TX. and West Coast Sailing out of Portland Oregon. Hobie just recently sold out to Bass Pro Shops a month or two ago. Not sure if you have any Bass Pro Shops availability there? FM
  10. Hi Skee, What it is is your pawl is worn down. It isn't as tall any more and isn't staying in the guide. It is part # 6. Look at the leading edge. the curved part on the tip pawl that engages with the line guide. It is (i suspect) worn down. The part you need is part # 400-2540. Best of luck, FM. https://www.reelschematic.com/wp-content/uploads/schematics/Daiwa/Lexa/Daiwa Lexa WN300H_HS-HS-P.pdf

  13. 7" and 10" Berkley power worms (pumpkinseed in the 7", green pumpkin in the 10"). 5" Lucky Strike ring worm, black with chartreuse tail or purple with the yellow tail. Culprit worm in the shad color was another. FM
  14. There is a on line retailer called Sierra Trading post. They discount heavily and have a selection of good to high quality fly reels. Well 16 today... FM https://www.sierra.com/fishing-reels~d~188/
  15. TnRiver, It's a pretty easy bust spotting a double. The markings are usually pretty obvious. If they are in the running and you/tourney director can see the pictures. I will admit it is easy to double submit a fish during the heat of a tournament. When the bite is on and your catching them good and they are schoolie fish of mostly the same size. I have learned over the years to put a junk picture between catches. I normally take at least two pictures and check them before releasing the fish. Take the pic's, back into the net with the fish in the water. Check the picture/s making sure I have my identifier, nose is against the bump, full fish is visible and marking on the board are clear. Trying to submit fish on the water looking at a cell phone to determine which fish you submit while your in the sun while wearing polarized glasses and you might have 7-15 different fish can be challenging to get right. Last comment is it is a Corinthian sport. If you get caught cheating or if even others think you are cheating. Your going to get shunned by a jury of your peers. Fishingmickey
  16. Hi Loki, The above is in most manufactures heavy rod wheelhouse. Especially go with the heavy if you trying to bomb/long cast it across flats. Your using a lot of force to send it so I'd lean to the heavy. Also getting a good hook set on a bomb cast strike with a lot of line out can get tricky. You'd want a long stiffer rod. If your making short casts you may be able to get away with a MH rod. Really depends on the rod. Test it out with the 3/4 oz and no trailer. See how it feels. Step it up if your comfortable. That's really the bottom line. FIshingmickey
  17. She has fished at least two opens that I am aware of. I wish her good luck! I really respect the fact that she "goes for it"! I have met and know Kristine. I met her back in 2017 at the Hobie BOS on Lake Fork. Fishingmickey
  18. Beautiful fish, love the distinctive markings. FM
  19. Might search the flea markets, FB market place, Ebay. Garage sales and pawn shops might have some great finds. I'd bet you can probably find a good rod used. FloridaFishingFool does very well at it per his posts. Side note to that is he lives in Florida where there is a ton of fishing and lots of old people dying or not being able to fish anymore. FM
  20. Bomber Fat Free shad, Norman Deep little N, Bagley's killer B1, Norman DD22's. Still wish they made those original Bagley's Killer B1 and Killer B2's. Then there was that magical spring foggy morning many years ago on the Guadalupe river lake. The cedar Heddon Dying Flutter in the Baby Bass color. It still may have been my biggest stringer ever. Fishingmickey I know it's not a crank bait, OP, thanks for that trip down memory lane.
  21. Got a link for the write up? FM
