  1. You might want to PM dodgeguy, I believe he is a crysler master mechanic and should have some valuable input on the dodge truck
  2. I recall listening to the radio show "car talk" with those "click and clack" fellas about a year or so ago. They were commenting that as far as pick ups go American made trucks are well made and just as good as the Japanese counterparts. They said this didn't apply so much to cars but pick up trucks are a different story.
  3. This is right up your alley at your price point. With a sahara (which is a fine reel) you won't be able to get a better rod than with this combo at $100. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98417_100003002_100000000_100003000_100-3-2
  4. Dang Muddy....we could have gone all season without seeing that!!!
  5. Something to look forward to on tax day :-/
  6. Consider the new Shimano Cumara at $220. I just got a deal on a MH 7'2". It is a very sweet rod. The Med is rather light so I opted for the MH which I feel would serve your purposes well.
  7. Some sweet beavers in my fishing room :

After the big G trip and getting all the info on JJ's Magic I decided I'm going to give it whirl on our club tournament this Saturday. Last night I got my game plan together and rigged up. Did a bunch of dippin in the Magic and I'm convinced the fish are gonna eat this stuff up...... BUT.....now my house reeks like a garlic factory....even the Febreeze has no effect.....thank goodness I'm single or I know my butt would be kicked out for this stunt.... I'm hoping it will die out in the next few days but for now I'm Lesson learned.....do the dippin outside and store the dipped baits out there too! ;D ;D
  9. Steez on a Loomis MBR843 GLX
  10. I just got one and used it at Guntersville. It is a fine reel. I really like the light reels and this one has been around a while "tried and true". I like it mostly due to the weight and it performs as well as the heavier models in it's price range. It is worth the $250 IMHO, you may be able to find one cheaper on ebay.
  11. This is 100% correct....BUT....if you go to Barkley the state line rules and there is no reciprocation. Gotta love politics.....also the size limit for smallies in TN is 18" on Barkley Lake
  12. Not to worry....the cat has nine lives.......I'm sniffing 27
  13. The acquisition was unintended, very innocent and most of all well deserved! Chinese fortune cookie says he will catch many smallies with it!!!!
  14. Welcome Teria......your fella is one fine guy! Hope we all can get together this summer on the Barkley side and grill some steaks at my place in Cadiz!
  15. I'm in the insurance business so take this with a grain of salt.....but....if you run into some crazy teenager on a jet ski and they get hurt real bad 300,000 may not be very much if a lawyer gets ahold of the case.....I would recommend you see how much 1,000,000 would cost or better yet get a 1,000,000 umbrella policy to cover excess over your home, auto and boat. That should be about $150 give or take a little.
  16. Makers Mark with a good cigar and a good by a campfire...............Oh and then there is and the New York Yankees and the Tennessee Volunteers.......nothing like a good tailgate party SEC style!!!!
  17. I hear some strong rumors that there has been a major defection from the Shimano Posse....Five Bass is going to love it
  18. Well, the Bass Bus left my house this morning so I guess the trip is officially over for me. Great trip, some good fish although a bit slow due to nature and the TVA, outstanding food by Muddy and Ghoti, great fellowship and enjoyable programs each night after dinner. Congrats to Mass Hole Mike and Jimzee for the big girls they caught. It was good to see the folks I met last year and meet some new folks too. I'm looking forward to next year....and to steal a line from last year... No Excuses 2009......be there or miss out on a great time!
  19. Happy Easter!!
  20. I'm bored....all packed waiting for the bass bus to show up and have some time to kill......sooooo, I decided I need to pick out a NL team to root for this year. Yankees are and always will be my team so this is for the NL only. I'm now a BRAVES fan in the NL for this year (I decided I can pick out a new NL team each year) I went and got a Braves cap for the trip We should all pick a team in the other league from our team so we can join in the banter for both leagues GO YANKEES & BRAVES :
  21. Usually that is correct.....what you want to make sure of is that the line is coming off the spool in the same direction the reel is turning. Some Shimano and Diawa reels have an anti twist on them. In this case you spool it like a baitcaster except have the line come off the bottom of the spool instead of the top. Be careful doing this because if the spinning reel is set upside down on the station that makes it backwards, I have these type reels and usually put the line spool on the station and the reel on a rod when spooling up my line.
  22. I'm Carl and I'm right behind Dustin.....I expect to fall back today too.... I drank too much SEC kool aid and picked Arkansas and Miss State.......that may be too much to ask in the upset department ;D
  23. Hey Cujo....you went the wrong way...I moved to Tennessee from NY....you should have stayed! ;D
