  1. That is one fat hawg.
  2. The first time I caught a fallfish I thought I caught a shiner until I heard it grunt. Dead giveaway right there. Also the fact that there were no shiners in the river I was fishing at.
  3. I think Lake Oahe is gonna be a game changer for the fantasy league. Its an unknown lake with no pro tournaments on it that I know of. So how do you call it? By type of bass? Its a smallmouth lake. Do you take the classic smallmouth fishermen or do you go with the pros who come from that area (I think there are only 2)? Gonna be fun.
  4. Those are some big pigs. Have yet to get a smallie on a swim jig but still trying.
  5. Its good to see Gary Klein in the top 12. I'm rooting for him to win it all.
  6. ^^^^Agreed. Unless you are fishing for panfish this can be a tough lake during the day. If you are fishing for perch keep as many as legally possible. The lake is overpopulated with them. Most of the fishing done on this lake is at night.
  7. Yes he did.
  8. Wish I was in Tijuana Eating barbequed iguana Wall of Voodoo 1982
  9. Not an angler in the top 12. I think if I threw fishsticks at a board I'd have better picks.
  10. When I get rich I'm gonna hire someone to forget all the stuff I can't remember. ?
  11. I wonder how many iguanas it takes to make a pair of boots. I mean the good kind of boots, not some cheap junk but a nice pair of cowboy boots. And don't forget the belt too. Probably take a couple dozen or so. Might be a business in that. They are free roaming so anybody could trap them, skin them, stretch the hides and make them into some footwear.
  12. Oh it was fun and a bit scary. Hearing those rattles gave me the willeys. And of course there was the prankster who would go around with a twig and run it up people's legs just to see them jump.
  13. Ott Defoe - 18 Seth Feider - 56 Edwin Evers - 86 Matt Lee - 21 Dave Lafebre - 8 My roster improved a little but not much.
  14. My prayers go out to him for a trouble-free recovery.
  15. Ott Defoe - 83rd Seth Feider - 73rd Edwin Evers - 93rd Matt Lee - 37th Dave Lafebre - 4th Ugh.
  16. I have the VMC head and it does the job. I like the thick hooks. Buckeye Lures J-Will is pretty good too. Doesn't have the fish head but I like the collar it has.
  17. That is one big snake. Good thing for the plastic tube. This is how they get the rattler in the tube. They put the snake on the ground and then some brave fool holds the tube down by the snake. That job would not be mine.
  18. The day I was there I overheard one of the wranglers tell his friend that one of the other wranglers who was out catching snakes had been bit and was headed to the hospital. Luckily they had plenty of anti-venom on hand.
  19. Agreed about needing more than just water to stave off heat exhaustion and other heat related issues. When I was younger all I needed was a bottle of water. Now its more of a chore to prepare for some of these hot days we are getting. Its not just being out on the water. I like to take long walks in the woods and if you don't prepare for that properly you will feel it today, tomorrow and for a few more days.
  20. Just a suggestion, but if you notice that most of the catches come during the early morning bite. Maybe, for the champion round only, fish 4 hrs in the morning but for 3 days. Not sure if its feasible with the anglers schedules but it may keep scores closer.
  21. 10 can't beat Tim McGraw.
  22. When they do, I'll be waiting.....
  23. Oh I backreel like a crazy man when I have a big one on. Its the best way to guarantee an easy landing. Even the best drag can't compare to backreeling. You can take more of the strain off your line. Practice is the key to using the backreel to its utmost effectiveness. Practice on the little guys you catch and when you get a monster it will be second nature.
  24. Good lawd that cat has a belly on it. Bet there is more than one bluegill in that stomach.
