  1. ahah there it is. I have been looking for that picture for a while now. That thing is an absolute monster.
  2. I went skunkless for two seasons in a row and a combined total days on the water of 95 until this season when I got my first skunk, with several to follow :-/.
  3. PB this year was 4.52 lbs. , a little low but It was a good year as far as numbers go. My real PB is 7.3 oz. caught a little over a year ago. The picture was taking with a non digital camera and I would have to scan it to put it up here, a little annoying to me. Well here is the pb from this year, a beautiful fish. P.S. I think Cali and FB's fish could eat mine in one gulp. MY GOD!
  4. sounds cool buuuuuuuuuuuttttttt, dont think it will work.

good luck with the surgery avid.
  6. I feel for you bass smacker. I recently fished with a member from the board, camofish, and I biked down to the ramp because it is so close to my house and I biked down there with two rigs, a big tackle bag, and a bunch of other stuff in the bag. I put my bike way out of the way underneath a tree and bushes and made sure it was barely visible. camo pulled up and we were off. When we got back We loaded the boat and Camo was gonna put my boat in his car, and I was siked about that. Go back to get my bike and what do you know, its not there anymore. Now I have to walk everywhere when I go fishing it is really annoying and now I have to save up for a new bike, which interferes with my tackle money. >
  7. jomatty I have been trying out jerks and cranks with no success. The primary forage in the pond is crawfish I think and I am not sure how big a bass has to be to eat 4-8 inch bluegills so they might feed on those. I can't set a pattern up and can't even find the fish. In the summer I had a real good pattern of fishing the shade parts of the pond and the edges of cat tails with soft plastics but that just isnt doing it anymore. I tryed t rigging to cover water while fishing a soft plastic and only landed one 2 lbr.
  8. one word describes you Chris, determination. Awesome job, hey add em up and you got your 50 plus. Keep putting in those hours and you will keep getting rewarded. When is it time for trophy bass fishing again??? ???
  9. well my first favorite lure was actually soft plastics made my bass assasin and they were just little flukes. I loved those things and caught so many fish on them. 12 has been my number for my whole life. From rec sports, school sports, JV basketball, everything... I always make sure I get 12 . My avatar is from one of my favorite fishing days this summer when my friend caught his PB of 6.8 and I caught 2 4.5's and a bunch of other good fish. I miss the summer time memories, that pic always reminds me of them. P.S. This is an awesome thread.
  10. how does the cold weathe effect small ponds that are between an acre or two in size with little structure other than cattails and some grass along the sides. I fish this pond at least 3 times a week and have only got 4 bites in the past 5 days, and all these fish I missed. I just cant figure out where they are. I can even see some nice fish but they seem so lethargic. After I have already worked the area over real good I will walk around to access another area and then I look down and see where I was fishing there was 2-3 bass sitting right there. I am throwing all the usual biats for fall... x rap, cranks, flukes, fat ikas, jigs even a spinnerbait from time to time. I just can't figure them out, I always thought I knew this water fairly well?
  11. there was a frost last night. My mom goes to leave the house and calls me out ot scrape off her car??? I was like funny mom, its October. I go out there the thing is covered in frost. Come onnnn. I am going fishing today. I dont have any of this fancy stuff i just layer up. T shirt underneath two longsleeve shirts, underneath and sweatshirt and then if its snowing or is below 40, I will wip out a jacket to top all of this stuff off. For pants just long underwear underneath and then pants. My legs don,t normally get cold. But I have fished before where I cant even feel my hands. KU it might be a good idea to start up a company that makes gloves that keep you warm and are still able to fish in them.
  12. just last week I met up with a member from the board and I made sure I left half an hour earlier than the time he set to meet at so I wouldnt hold him up and I could show respect and make a good impression. It is just common sense not to be late for things. I was there fishing from the shore when he pulled up, we loaded my stuff up, launched the boat, and took off. I agree with GMAN thats the way it should be.
  13. ahhh, the times i wish I was older and had more money! I would be there in a heart beat if I could.
  14. I find it slows the spool down a little bit more before the lure hits the water. I wouldn't say it increases casting distance
  15. yep, its 4 oz. and is a very light rod, even lighter than last years model. Pronounced St. Croye, kinda like that I think. Go for it bukcetmouth, its a very nice rod. Theres also the St. Croix Triumph that is a nice rod and I have a couple of those as well and they are very similar to the premier at a cost of 50-60 bucks.
  16. For those of you that think A-rod is one of the top players in baseball, you must not watch any yankee games at all. The dude just has no heart and never has since he joined the Yankees. I thought after he got in that fight with Varitek he would be loyal to the Yanks for a long time but he just doesnt focus in the games and can't get the job done in the clutch. Torre shouldnt have messed with him and batted him 8th in that last game though. Arods problem is he over analyzes things and that will only cause him to think about things even more. Muddy hopefully your mets will go after A rod and give us someone who has some kahunas.
  17. its also only 8 feet long. what about this??? http://www.1stdirectproducts.com/pro120boattr.html
  18. its a sandpiper 8 dinghy, made for like whitewater boating I think.
  19. I actually have no problem with the firing of Torre. I am sick of seeing al lthe other teams managers i nteh dugout connecting with their players and walking around slapping fives and then they show torre just sitting there doing absolutley nothing. I bet he can't wait for the games to get over. Now about Lou??? I don't know if that was the right move or the wrong move, it could work or it could be a catastrophe. One thing we know is doesnt take crap from any of the wimpy players so if we end up keeping Arod I think Lou will toughen him up big time. I would have loved to get Joe Girardi I know he is going to be a big time manager in years to come. Just look what he did with the Marlins, he almost had them in the playoffs. I dont know why Flordia would let him go. Oh well there is always next year. I am now officially rooting for Oakland.
  20. dane yankees played like crap today, watch out for some big postseason moves from the Bronx bombers boys. Heres a list if what I would do if I was Georgy..... 1. Fire Joe Torre 2. Sign Joe Girardi 3. Offer Barry Zito a fat contract 4. Trade A-Rod for a stud pitcher 5. Pick up a reliable 3rd basemen 6. Bring up the stud pitcher in AAA 7. Trade for or pick up another 1st basemen 8. Shoot Big Papi and Ramirez in the arms.
  21. ill tell you right now if we lose this series today then steinbrenners head will pop off and he will just sign the starting line up from this years all star game, even though half of our team was already on it. How can we not win with the lineup we have? And the last thing I wanted to see was Jaret Wright on the mound when the season is on the line. If we win today then I think we have a good chance once we go back home to NY but our chances aren't looking good today. And what was up with pulling sheff last night. I know he had an off game the day before but come on, Bernie is 53 years old and Giambi is still pulling those syringes out of his back, we need Sheff in there and especially against the lefty. I just hope all goes well tonight and Wright won't go crazy and stay in control of the game.
  22. good one muddy man ;D, dead sticking is one of my favorite presentations because, well, its the easiest presentation....
  23. whadda guy! Go for it Russ
