I know that Academy, Bass Pro, Lews and Diawa make aluminum bc reels under $100. I came across Piscifun and *** that are selling reels at a lower rate. Here is my question; are all aluminum frame reels the same? meaning; is the aluminum weaker/stronger, one piece vs several pieces, thickness and so on. Or, is an aluminum frame reel from a reputable brand name better/the same than a no name brand?

That reel is all you need to start. Get the Berkley Lightning Shock mh rod for $30 bucks or so. Great starter set up.

Trilene mono and spire wire for me. I use braid for flipping, pitching t,-rig and worms. I use mono for cranks, spinner baits, chatter and top water. I'm not a fan of fluoro, too many weaknesses for the price. If fish bite on an a-rig full of metal, braid will not be a problem.

Tiki Lagun is a cool spot. Small Marina and not that crowded. Plus, a campsite if you want to stay overnight. A lot of flipping and pitching for the pigs. Also, learn the low and high tides. It took me awhile but I got it. Fish move up and down with the tides.

B Shock rod is your best option

6"6'- 7 for me. I have the same problem. It doesn't bother me when I think about being stuck on shore.

Omar, I also fish from a Tarpon 100. I live south of Fresno. You can go up north to the delta. You hit the local lakes but the delta in your back yard. I recommend the delta over any other spot. There are kayak fishing tournaments on the delta. Check your messages.

That is a great pick. The pinnacle can be a great "for when a friend goes with me" set up, cheap mono. You can't go wrong with the Shock rods. Make one a medium heavy flipping/pitching/worm set up with braid and the other a crankbait/buzzbait medium action set up with mono. You cover many options with two set ups. many of us are on a budget and our boss has a short leash on us (you know who I'm talking about) so you can get great rods for under $50. If you are planning on fishing tournaments and going big time, then upgrade. If not, keep it reasonable and avoid your boss sending you to the guess bedroom. LOL
