Amen to that When I say that the SEC is weak, I mean from top to bottom. if you take the bottom 3 teams in the SEC and they play the bottom three of the PAC 12, Pac 12 wins all three. SEC has one team; Alabama. they have 3-4 good teams and then a drop off to 6 JV teams. ACC, Big 10 and 12 are stronger than the SEC. I agree with you, Alabama is on a different level but the SEC is not. I don't mean to argue or start a fight but just having a good talk. If I offend, not my purpose and I apologize.

I agree with this statement. Outside of Alabama, the SEC is a weak conference. LSU, Florida, Georgia have some good years but overall, not the best conference. I can say Big 10 and ACC were the best conferences. ESPN does not like the West Coast. We get no love. USC will get some time next year because that QB is the real deal. Other than that, ESPN does not bother with the PAC 12. My last comment, Alabama's Defense, the talk all week, showed that it's not that good. All hype. Clemson ran one play twice and got two TDs with no adjustments from Saban. How? Saban is a defensive guru and so on, come on!

Because I fish from a kayak, flipping with spinning gear, to me, is easier. I am actually closer to the desired location compared to a boat so I can flip very short distances. My only issue is the line getting tangled with the reel handle, other than that, no problems. Plus the reel handle is on the left and you can reel without switching hands. Dude, keep practicing and you will get it.

That combo will work for you. When I started, the advise I got was; start with the plastic worm. Master it. Move on to crankbaits then to spinnerbaits and so on. Don't try to do everything at once. So learn the different ways to fish a worm; Texas rig, Carolina rig. Learn how and when. Learn the different types of worms. Learn what reels and rods work best for those rigs. Collect your tackle for those rigs. Once mastered, that tool is in your arsenal forever. Then move on to something else. Last thing and most important, if you are not having fun, you are doing something wrong. Having fun and enjoying it is everything. Dude, welcome to the Madness.

Stay clear of the over price rods. You can get a Walmart rod and get more out of it than a $300 rod. Only because a pro uses it, doesn't mean it's the best. I would take a Berkley Shock MH rod over 99% of the rods out there. Again, this is my 2 pesos.

My sun has the spitfire but the stealth 10 or 11 angler is the best one you can get. The 10 is for ponds and small waters. The 11 is better for the bigger lakes.

Dude, I was going to get the Spartacus. KastKing rep told me that they have an aluminum frame reel coming out. So I might wait for that reel. Royale is cool but again, plastic frame. If I had to get a reel today, I would get another black max.

The company is from NY and the reels are made in Asia, like all the reels. They are light and easy to use from what I read and see on youtube. I want one so I will get mine soon. They have several models so look around on their website for specs. When you made your decision, go get it on Amazon. Right now, they have several on sale for Christmas. Amazon can be overwhelming but if you know what you are looking for, no problems.

All you need is 2 baitcasters for the jig (MH rod) and chatter/top-water (Med rod) lures. The spinning will take care of the plastics. It's not said but I would recommend a kayak so you can get to better spots. I got a kayak because I fish ponds and reservoirs. Dude, talk about opening up a lot of options and opportunities.
