  1. The Roadhouse is very low acidity, so it's my choice for drinking on an empty stomach or to have it black.
  2. Brattleboro is half an hour from me. Mocha Joe's is very good. My favorite is Roadhouse Blend from Dean's Beans in Orange Mass. I also like their Sumatran French Roast, Ring of Fire, and about 5 more. I order five pound bags online.
  3. It's really nice on my late 90s All Star 6'6" medium action.
  4. V Mag 3 is a heck of a little reel. Mine throws tiny squarebills and shad raps on a 5'6" Speed stick. All told, I'm 60 bucks into the combo and it is a pleasure to use.
  5. I have one less than I need. That answer never changes.
  6. Probably 6lb Silver Thread, if not I'll use 6lb Fluoroclear.
  7. I have a few Fuegos and it depends on the rod. If the rod loads up well you're good. I have mine on an older moderate action medium and it throws small crankbaits really well.
  8. I tried it last year, it was fine-zero issues. It was 15 lb test and I used it for Rat L Traps.
  9. If you do go major auto parts retailer, advance auto has a 20% coupon. You buy online, pick up in store and save 20 percent. It's how I buy all my batteries.

I once almost broke my leg stepping in a snowed-over 10" hole. I could only imagine what may happen to a small child in such a case... I have a 10" auger, but usually just use my 6" attached to my 18V drill or my 8" gas auger. Most guys use an 8". I've pulled 4+ pound bass through a 6" hole. It can be done.
  11. Love to see it. I lost all of my skirt material in a garage fire or else I'd make little Arkys. Fortunately, the molds were at my house (fire at my dad's) so they survived.
  12. Growing up in the early 80s in Ohio it was "ruh-pal-ah". When I first heard an ad on InFisherman by the company itself, I switched over to RAP-ala.
  13. I pour jigs and still buy Bitsy Bugs, they are such a good jig for $1.79 I don't even bother trying to do better anymore. I like Hula grubs and Guido bugs for trailers.
  14. It really is. Trout fishing in NH is a really big deal. Bass are somewhat new to the party, but the trout guys are everywhere.
  15. My old Ryobi V Mags are pretty simple...they don't have bearings!
  16. I always like a zombie thread. I've been fishing since 1980, I have piles of stuff too. What I did to the soft plastic was melt it into styles of baits that I actually use. I separated them by color and made hundreds of creature type baits, jig trailers and soft jerkbaits.
  17. I throw smaller jerkbaits on 7' med or medium light rods with a 2000/2500 spinning reel. Generally I'm using 8 pound Silver thread copolymer. Any decent spinning reel-most of mine were in the 50-75 dollar range will be fine. Ratios don't matter because you let the lure sit. A good drag is far more important.
  18. You may be able to just buy a passport card if air travel is not in your future. I got the card for snowmobiling trips to Canada-it was cheaper than the passport. (Then a month later I was invited to Mexico for a wedding and I got the full passport anyway...)
  19. Arkansas shiner super flukes are my favorites, but Bass Assassins are also excellent.
  20. When I was 17 I was fishing in Southeastern Ohio with my cousin, throwing jigs to wood hidden near the bank. I lost a 5+ right at the boat when my line broke. I proceeded to unleash a tirade of the foulest words I could manage in a pretty loud voice. We hadn't seen a boat all day, so I felt like we were alone. As we came around the corner, a Mennonite or Amish family was fishing the same bank. They heard every word. Now I rarely talk over a whisper while on the water, and I don't cuss much either.
  21. I have needle oiler bottles I bought on Ebay-I filled one with Mobil1 0W 20. So far, so good.
  22. Carbon Fire is a good rod, hard not to buy one for $49. I think I got mine for either 39 or 49 last year. I have also used nothing but braid on mine.
  23. Fantastic thread gentlemen.
