2022 Deer hunt
I was able to harvest this buck with my bow on 11/6 evening in western Iowa. Not a great story, the deer slowly angled towards me getting to 39 yards in my shooting lane. I shot him walking which I dont like to do, but he was almost out of my lane and there no more opportunities after that lane. Deer ran 10-15 yards and expired. Ended up with a double lung. Very thankful! Now what to do with all the PTO I saved for the rut...

Super Bowl 56
Agree with most everything you say, but I couldnt get past the offensive line being top 5?? Their line is horrendous. Which makes what burrow is doing even more impressive. Only QB to ever win a playoff game while getting sacked 9x.

NCAA Football Bowl Games
So with the SEC getting Texas and OU, I think the opens for the door for an entirely different scenario down the road. I can see college football going to a league of 20-25 teams and those teams compete for a completely different trophy or whatever than the teams that are left out of that league. You take ND, OSU, Mich, Clemson, perhaps USC, and some others you would have this situation. Like somebody else said money is the driving factor and this would certainly lead to the most money for the biggest school. I think this route leads to the most interesting football as far as getting the most talent playing week in and week out. However, it takes away a lot of the upsets and cinderella stories that makes college sports so entertaining as well.

Say what you want about the SEC and their bowl record (I dont put too much stock into it) but they went 4-0 in their "big" bowl games. Tennessee also got screwed in their game. Edit* Still have Ole Miss tonight in what is probably the game I have been looking forward to the most. I cant believe he stayed, but showed this year hes not ready for a bigger program. If you cant be your rival Iowa with that horrible offense and a that many returning players then you just arent ready. But he has done a tremendous job with the program and they are having great seasons for Iowa State football.

NCAA Football Bowl Games
Yeah, easily the best two teams. The completely dominated both games. If either of those teams are in another conference they probably go undefeated rather easily. Im looking forward to the national championship game and I think Georgia wins. But Saban is just an incredible coach. I know he gets the best recruits year in and year out but he still has to motivate those kids who have been the best their entire lives. That can be quite a challenge with 18-22 year olds! On another note, my team, the Iowa State Cyclones were pre-season #7. That is about as asinine as it can get on the college football scene. They went 7-5 which I predicted since June, but that is a great season for the cyclones!!

I finally did it, I cancelled my facebook account
Im 24 and Ive never had it. Some people my age are even getting rid of it/using it way less than they used too. I get why people use it, but for me and many others there is just too much BS involved with it.

What does everyone do for a living?
I operate a fermentation system that is used for the production of probiotics. Most of our bug get used in silage for cattle, pigs, horses and then pet stuff as well. The industry is sure exploding.

Did you enjoy it? Its something I like, but couldnt drink a lot of.- The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
The Busch Apples are tasty! Quite a bit different than the ciders that are out there. More of a beer with apple kind of thing.- Anyone else not fish for bass very often?
Rarely fish for bass. Usually crappie and walleye. Bass are targeted if we are having a tough day.- What is the best line to use with a top water hard bait?
I tend to use braid as well. With baits like the sexy dawg or similar, I can cast a long ways. I dont want all the stretch that mono has in those situations. I use the same knot I always use, but a loop knot works just fine with braid.- UL for Panfish/Crappie
Highly recommend the avid. I use the 6' along with a legend panfish and love it. A little more sensitive than the panfish series and a slightly different bend profile.- St. Croix rod help
This guy is correct. The mojo bass will be a lot more sensitive than the Premier. It has a higher grade of graphite in it. IMO the graphite in the premier, bass x and triumph is pretty bad when you can grab a mojo for $130 and call it a day. They should make a 6'8" medium in the spinning rod. This would be a very good do it all rod under 7'.- Need opinions on my deer movement
The colder the weather should help with daylight movement. If you are hunting timber, those deer are likely moving to food in the evening and coming back from it during the morning. I would think the deer would be up on their feet late afternoon heading to the food, especially as the weather cools.- Do you know anyone who quit fishing?
This is my battle, I have spent a lot of beautiful days on the golf course. I don't regret a second of it. However, I know that now I try and balance the two more than I used too. It's just a lot simpler to throw the clubs in the trunk than it is to get the boat in and out of our garage. Also, to the guy about adrenaline and golf. Absolutely. If you enjoy it that is. Seeing a ball rolling towards the cup from ~150 yards and dropping is a phenomenal feeling. Similar to setting the hook fishing. Except setting the hook on a fish happens a little more than hitting it really close in golf!- Spinning Shallow Spools....?
I always use backing even on braid ready spools just out of habit. Why do you want to get rid of the backing? No right or wrong just curious.- How much do you spend on your reel vs your rod
Kind of subjective. For something where a sensitive rod is beneficial some will spend more on the rod. But for something else, like finesse baits, people might spend more on a reel. The mojo is a nice rod at that point. No experience on the reel.- Shimano Poison Adrena Rods Debut!
I have a spinning rod of the older version and I love it. Easily my favorite rod.- St. Croix Avid "x" 6'-4" Mxf
I have this rod for these applications. I really like it for topwater as I am on the shorter side lol.- What line on avid x 68 mxf?
I dont think you will see any issues with walleye. Many people use an XF with braid for walleyes myself included. I use a 610MLXF and would never think about switching to mono. Cannot stand the stretch.- St.croix mojo bass, or g Loomis e6x?
I think the mojo is a really nice for the price and the e6x leaves something to be desired for a 190 dollar rod.- Two piece ultralight rods
what jimmy said. or joe?- Glx vs legend elite
Well you probably have your new favorite spinning combo. I will never purchase a different spinning reel, or so I tell myself. - The official "Who's drinking tonight?" thread
