  1. If you have shimano reels the shimano website has PDF tutorials with pictures to help with simple lubing. Unsure of cleaning though
  2. You could try JJ's Magic, I think they're mainly dyes but they do offer a clear bottle. It's got some crazy garlic scent! don't spill it
  3. ! Thanks for that heads up!
  4. Awesome fish Wayne, in Feb too...Hey Andrew we gotta go and try this lake out one day =D
  5. Mine did, they ate anything from flake food, pellets to frozen shrimp. ....Then I ended up eating them...
  6. Crap, what am I gonna do with this cat now jk, my gf is allergic...I remember when my gf bought me fish for my aquarium and put them in to suprise me... "Darling, look what I got you! you've always said you wanted an Oscar!" *run to my tank* *carnage* :'(
  7. Reeds have been pretty good to me, they keppt me up to date with rods I ordered and when one came broken they sent me another rod with a return tube. I didn't check my statements though as to when they charged me. Recently when they had the St croix elites on sale I had ordered a few, I called to confirm and reeds said they would be shipping out the next day. On the next day they called me back saying they didn't have that model (66MHF) anymore and asked if I wanted another...they were kind of pushy about it..after asking about 2 other rods that happen to also be out of stock I told them I wasn't intersted anymore and they just hung up on me...I felt that was really rude...I give them the benefit of the doubt though as they probably had to call alot of others that day.
  8. Another good thing about using a fluoro leader is that you don't have to worry about rocks or other debris cutting your line as much. Also Braid can be kept on a spool for years, adding a leader can extend that time. I've had braid on my spinning reel for almost 2 years now, other have kept some spooled up longer. For the swivels, I've found that they really kill the sensitivity and fluoro can get really unmanageable depending on the brand, 100% pro is ok but tends to jump off the spool much more than mono. I prefer the Alberto knot for leader lines!
  9. Ya the pdf will compress against your body when you're in the water keeping it from runing down into the waders. Heya Rob last time we went yaking (we gotta do that again sometime) you mentioned that your wife was about to give birth! How's your wife and the baby doing? =D
  10. X3 have never been quite able to figure out why all bc are made with a right hand retrive.I can't even eat with my left hand much less work a bait properly. x4 Nicely put Bassin ;D I can't figure it out also..I've tried with a righty and could never set the hook properly
  11. He raps insanely slow, might as well be chanting...reminds me of some buddhist chants I have to listen to every so often... On the flip side, Twista raps so insanely fast it makes no sense but sounds...interesting...
  12. The tails have too much RAGE...hinders casting distance =D
  13. So very true, it's not uncommon to catch one every single cast during the peak. They fight hard too!
  14. awesome catch =D
  15. I used to have a Sea eagle 8, to be honest it was too much of a hassle to inflate, set up, and deflate when you're done. Some people just leave it inflated but for me that wasn't an option (2dr honda civic). I eventually sold it bought a roof rack and kayak and I love it.
  16. ;D ;D ;D ;D I'd gladly pay a fortune for a glx
  17. Same I tried last weekend...tied on a 1oz jig + trailer to try and bust through...no luck It did end up skidding half way across the pond though =D
  18. Used st croix Legend tourney 66 MHF for $50 shipped!
  19. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_UnV3RbCtg Now I'm scared to go under trees in my yak =P
  20. Oh please, if you eat them they have to die. Besides I know the VA Dept of Inland Fisheries recommends that you keep the strippers that you catch, as they will die if released, at least during certain months. I don't know if there is any truth to that, but the dept wants them kept. I found the quote from the internet her it is Anglers should not release legal size striped bass during the summer months. The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries encourages striped bass anglers to quit fishing after catching their limit in the months of June-September (see Regulations section for split season regulations). Most of these fish released during the summer months will not survive! A voluntary catch-and-release (no harvest) season is recommended for striped bass from October through May to help build population abundance and fish size. Woah didn't know that...I wonder why...
  21. Switch over if you line watch alot. Your eyes will thank you. You can also try the sufix neon fire which is a bright orange. In terms of color I like this one the best as to me it seems a bit easier to see than the yellow.
  22. BPS has an Extreme travel rod comes in 3 pieces with a travel tube, they go on sale regularly for ~$60. Great packable rod with nice actions, I alway have one in my car for those quick trips. For a higher end option GLoomis makes the Escapeline that're also 3pc rods ($300+) . St croix offers travel spinning rods in their Triumph line and in their Premier Line I've never used either the Loomis or the st croix but I can vouch for the BPS, works great and it's decently priced!
  23. When you say "beat" do you mean physically attack? that would be rather unsportsman like I'd think ;D
  24. Make sure to check all your local walmarts too! One walmart close to me has termintor, strikeking and a bunch of other brand spinnerbaits for $1-2.50. While another one 5-10miles away had the same for $2-$3.
  25. good question, never really thought of it...I use L&L alot, I'd like to know the answer to 4bizz's question too
