  1. Nice sponsor! makes me wish my school had a fishing team, go for a glx or imx =D
  2. I feel like suffix is a bit stiffer at first than powerpro, but after a trip they're all pretty limp. Suffix, pp, BPS braid, and stren's super braid all feel the same to me once they're broken in. I really do like Suffix' neon orange line though!
  3. wow, nice! i need to find someone who works at dicks now... ;D
  4. Nice! never thought of that one! toss a big block quote in there!
  5. x2 at first I just wanna get the skunk off, afterwards with my confidence up I'll go for those bigguns
  6. very interesting....I have a few people in mind too =D
  7. I really like the gun metal color of the curados Ds but the green is nice too. As for the citica's I really liked the gold on the drag star and the over all look, it was just too big, the new citicas too kinda drab...but like fourbizz said who care what it looks like? I'd fish with a pink reel if it was bad @ss =D
  8. Yep, like Dan said, it's all personal preference, I'm a leftie also and I don't like to change hands. I feel like I have more hooksetting power in my RIGHT arm than my left, but in the end it's whatever feels more confortable for you
  9. I'm itchin' to buy a 51MG! or maybe a steez after Andrew says he was to toss his STX out
  10. I feel MH can cover a wider range, I can toss 1/8th to 1oz lures with a MH.
  11. grats on the zillion =D and good luck!
  12. correct me if I'm wrong, but I came to believe that heavy rods were mainly used for frogs because of where you'd possibly be throwing the things (Pads, thick vegetation etc...) in case you hooked into a fish that did figure 8's through the pads a heavy rod would be needed to horse the fish out. Having said that, MH should be fine depending on where you're throwing the frog, for example the edge of pads or vegetation where you might not get hung up as much vs in the middle of the mess.
  13. Dont forget to keep in mind weight, If you're buying a laptop portability is a top priority. I feel like many people get lost in high specs and end up with a 10lb laptop which is less than portable. Try to keep it around 5lbs
  14. Haven't had too much luck with the LMB recently, hit up a private lake in Richmond and been catching some dinks on slow rolled spinnerbaits. This lake has pike or musky, something toothy, and these guys usually hit my spinnerbaits too, but haven't caught one larger than 1lb. Bring the yak down for some striper =D
  15. x2 on the chilling, being the 1st generation of my family born in the US I have to deal with some really strange concoctions from my parents....having said that... I didn't mind the banana but berry tasted odd.
  16. I mainly use Braid with a flouro leader, I normally don't need to change braid out much because my fluoro leader takes most of the snipping from knots and such. I do start to cut the first few yards of my braid if i see any fraying and will change out if I start getting low, I keep a healthy amount of mono back on to keep the cranking power of my BC's at max without wasting much braid. With this method I've kept braid on some of my less used reels for more than 3 years. I don't respool because I'm afraid of any line weakening, more due to snipping down the braid or cutting due to snags
  17. got in on the MHF Casting and MF spinning hopefully since I still had it in my cart it reserved one for me =/
  18. LINK edit: The old ones that are brown, not the new 2009 ones.
  19. That black and Blue Tuna sounds tasty!
  20. rockfish? as in stripers? Where are they biting? Just this past Sat I was hitting them at Yorktown, 17 total all keeper size with two 23inchers mixed in. All casting from shore. However...I just got word that some idiot decided to majorly trespass on the dockmaster's dock and now police are giving tresspassing tickets to anyone fishing on the rocks near there (they would usually ignore fisherman) sad =( my striper spot is now off limits from shore...I'm thinking about taking my yak out there though.
  21. I was having luck with the magic shad and spinnerbaits with a multi colored skirt (black, light blue, and grey-ish white, from top to bottom) Been hitting the rockfish pretty well also recently
  22. Sounds like fun, I'll try to clear my calendar, I missed it last year. What goes on at the expo?
  23. Nice Q! I think i'll give that a shot too, never caught anything on a hard jerkbait before
  24. Nice fatties you got there! Haven't been to huntsman in forever, looks like i need to make a trip soon
