  1. When I buy shallots for a recipe I buy this... To me they're more like onions as for holiday recipes...I LOVE this turkey recipe, all the turkeys I have made with this come out AMAZING Allrecipes.com Turkey
  2. strawberry hands down...cherry comes in second. I used to eat them out the package cause i felt that they got really sweet when toasted. Now I like them toasted cause i like the outside a bit crisp, still too sweet though... Also...there's 200 calories each tart...400 calories for 1 pack is crazy!
  3. I've found that 15lb+ fluoro is kinda like thick plastic wire...jumps off the spool llike no tomorrow. All except the trilene 100%, but even that gets unmanageable (for me atleast) in the higher tests.
  4. Well, the thing is I had it looked over by a recommended reel guy. I mentioned the drag to him and after taking it apart for cleaning and such he didn't find anything wrong with it. Also thinking that it was just the entire line of 100/101D's so I sold it off on the flea market section. I haven't heard any complaints from the buyer.
  5. :-? wow...darwin award
  6. I had a curado 101D and I still have a citica 201D. The curado being a smaller 101 was the perfect size and weight, but the only problem I had with it was a weak drag, even locked down I could still pull line off easily. The Citica 201D is a bit on the heavy side but it casts nicely and has a powerful, smooth drag. I've also used it in saltwater, I've misused and abused this thing and it still keeps casting nicely. My only gripe is the weight. I don't think they make citica's in the 100 size but if they did i'd be all for a citica 101D ps: for reference my hands are kinda small, if I'm looking for gloves I look for med -> sm
  7. 9 out of 10 times it's usually the braid slipping on the spool. Unless your reel has weak drag. my curado 101D had weak drag even with electrical tape and monobacking I could still easily pull the line off the reel with the drag locked down. Had the reel looked at also, and it was simply weak drag that was the problem.
  8. nice! where can you pick up one of these?
  9. I've used my citica and cardiff in salt There were many times where I was so tired after fishing I never bothered to rinse off my citica and it still works greats
  10. x2 I definitely know the feeling of getting worked up, but you never know if one guy has a gun or not. Best bet, see if there are any regulations on carp, if not, reason with them. If they don't listen there might not be anything you can do =/
  11. Nice deal, I got my curado D NIB for 130 shipped awhile back when some store was having that crazy st croix avid deal, buy an Avid and get 10% off any reel, + the $50 shimano rebate =$130 Anyways, I had the 101D and I now have a 201E, the E is smaller than the 101D, has a stronger drag, and i feel like it's lighter for some reason even though the specs say the E is about .2oz heavier. If you have paypal, an ebay account and an account with Live.com (microsoft website) they have a promotion going on right now where you can get 25% off any Buy-it-now purchase (it was 35% and slowly goes down 5% after a while). I used buy-it-now on a 201E for $160 shipped and got 25% cash back making a grand total of $120. The only stipulations are that you use paypal, use buy buy-it-now, and wait 60 days to get the cash back. It might be more of a hassle but if you're on a budget it's definitely worth it!
  12. We hooked into those cats with lures, Andrew was trolling a magic shad and I was slowly reeling in a 4in chart grub. Dan, I am up to 8 Kistlers now. The pic in the avitar is a prototype of kistlers new line up........ New kistlers look pretty nice! Does kistler have any accidental damage coverage with their warranty?
  13. lI fish for them when they do their run, fall/winter, hoping for a 25+ incher this year! They fight pretty hard also like smallmouth without the acrobatics
  14. Team Hobie =D Andrew is the only one with enough balls to stand up on the yak on the potomac !
  15. Heya guys, haven't fished too much lately, just hit my favorite striper spot last night but I think it's still a bit early, only hit one 19in - 3lber A week ago Andrew and I hit up the potomac without too much but we did hit a few cat fish.
  16. It'll be like picking out a backlash every cast
  17. I'm looking into two sonar/gps units, one is navionics compatible while the other says it comes with "Enhanced Unimaps charts" what's the difference?
  18. Same here Dan, I love the feel of connecting on a fish. As for spiral wrap... It really depends on where you're living or how "in the know" people are around you. I've known about spiral wrapping for about 2 years now but I've NEVER seen one being used where I fish in VA nor have I seen any sold in stores or online from major rod companies like st croix, loomis etc. Megabass is the only one I know of that makes spiral wrapped rods but of course they're the uber expensive japanese rods... So as a rule of thumb Dan's reply still holds true
  19. I've sold decent gear on craigslist before (citicas and st croixs) but I've never been able to find any other good fishing deals. I'm still lurking though...
  20. Sorry to highjack the thread a bit, but does anyone know much about their warranty? Do they have any accidental coverage plan?
  21. Off topic: Catching and keeping is not evil! Nothing wrong with eating/enjoying the fruits of your labor. Now I don't keep most bass I catch and definitely release large fish, but there's nothing wrong with it... On topic: I am glad that I don't have very many snakes to worry about up here in WI! I agree, there is NOTHING wrong with eating your catch as long as it's within the legal limits.
  22. I used the 6'6" MHF extreme casting rod for awhile, sensitivity is average, I put them as "noticeably less sensitive" than a St croix Premier. However for the sale price of $70, it's a good deal
  23. X2 x3 how's the wrist from all those topwater monkey hits Andrew =D?
  24. Ooo nice looking rods, Not a fan of the big DARK ANGEL lettering but still a nice looking rod!
  25. Hey Sam, I got it on Ebay, last time I checked GT and BPS didn't have the lefties in =(
