This time of year is a hard time to catch fish, especially from the bank. I fish a 50 acre lake close to my house and always catch some fish. The last two times I went, I haven't got a bite. Don't give up, it will get better.

I think color has a lot to do with catching or not. Junebug and Green Pumpkin are my two best colors. Like the others said depth and speed has a lot to do with it. Don't forget a 8" Junebug lizard when you fish at the Rez in the spring.

Lews BB 1 5.1:1 gear ratio with either a Lews 6'6" or 7' David Fritts Perfect Cranking Rod.

Tried a bunch but ended with Sunline Sniper. It is strong plus thinnest per # test.

As a teenager of the 60's, all there was to do in my small town during the summer was to swim, fish, and play baseball, come to think of it, what more could I ask for. I agree, swimming with your clothes on is a lot different than swimming with swim trunks. O yea, getting embarrassed is a lot better than dying.

The Lews Custom does pretty well with a Pflueger reel.

All I have ever used is Power Pro,seems like I might ought to try Sufix 832

I use the Pfluegers 30 series and I use braid. I believe either 25 or 30 is good for braid, mono, or FC.

I am dogless right now but here are my two last dogs. Madison,Golden Retreiver was 12 when she died and the part boxer Cholie was 5 when she died. Miss them both.

I use 2 colors for the most part, Junebug in stained/muddy and Green Pumpkin in clear/partly stained.

I keep mine in the original bag and put them in soft sided bags like this.
