  1. Instead of starting a new topic, I found this one in search. Anybody else play guitar. Started back in the 60's, got back into in the late 90's and played for about 7 or 8 years. Well like bass fishing I started again last year. Love to play surf songs, Ventures, The Belairs, etc. So anybody still playing. Sow some pictures of you guitars if you have them. I have a 2000 Fender Tele 52' RI through a Deluxe Fender Reverb, and a Taylor 714 cedar top.
  2. 12, 14, 20, I don't think it really matters on backing. Your just taking up space on your spool.
  3. Wow, been a long time since I have used pork. I had forgot about trimming it.
  4. Got the Ultimate Bunks in and installed on my boat today. I think they are going to work great. Thank you Blue for the suggestion.
  5. I know BPS has them and you might check Academy.
  6. Back in the day, 70's/80's, throwing a black/blue jig with a Uncle Josh pork lizard was the real deal. Probably still is if I could find the lizards.
  7. I would have to say a 1/2 oz. spinnerbait, single gold blade with chart./white skirt but it's hard not to say the Ned Rig in Junebug.
  8. Just saw this on BassMasters. Ken was one of those anglers that I always rooted for. Besides being a great angler, he seemed to be a great person. Back in the day, he got me throwing Hart spinnerbaits. Next time I go fishing I will have to tie one on in remembrance of Ken.
  9. For shallow, go medium, big bill cranks, MH.
  10. Did you try the old pull it out with braid trick ?
  11. All my rods are 6'6" except my Carolina Rig and my spinning rod.I fish primary Falcon rods and they have a good selection of 6'6' rods. These seem long to me since I grew up on 5'6" pistol grip rods.
  12. Used it all last year, used 20#, 14#, and 7# test. I think it is the best out there !!
  13. I started out with 10# braid with a 7# fc leader. I have now gone back to using just Sunline 7# fc, no braid.
  14. Before I decided to order the Ultimate Bunks, I was looking here. https://www.bassboatseats.com/collections/bass-boat-carpet/products/boat-trailer-bunk-carpet If you have an Academy Sports, you can find it there cheaper.
  15. I can remember getting that catalog back in the 70's and 80's. Seems like I wore everyone out looking at it. Of course back then, it was all mail order and I assume Springfield was the only store. Couldn't wait to order and also ordered a cap, seems special back then, I am really surprised that they even have a catalog now.
  16. Blue, you talked me into it. Just ordered some. Looking forward to installing them and trying them out.
  17. These sound good. I can see unloading would be easy but how about when you load it up. Looks like when you drive it on it would keep sliding back. These would really help in the small lake where I can't use my outboard to load it. I have to pull it on my trailer with a rope which is a pain.
  18. I am going to replace the bunks on my trailer. For those that have replaced them, what did you use. I have read not to use treated 2 x4's because of the copper in them will eat holes in your boat if your boat is aluminum. My aluminum boat is painted, will it still eat holes. Is it best use to use regular wood and paint it. I plan on using regular carpet on what ever wood I use. Any ideas ???
  19. Bill Dance is still number 1. I have watched him for years and never get tired of him. He probably is reading his lines but hey, he is 75 years old. Also a Jimmy Houston fan, he just a young guy, just 70.
  20. I don't believe all will be in the top 10 but it will be interesting to see !!!
  21. Cast your crankbait and see which way it is running. If it is running to the left, get your needle nose pliers and grip the eyelet of the crankbait and twist the eyelet to the right. It does not take much much so just do a little at a time, It is also best to lay your pliers flat on the bill of the crankbait instead of gripping it on the top. If it goes right, twist left. I don't know if I have found a brand that is going to run true out of the box all the time. Even the most expensive crankbits need tuning some sometimes.
