  1. Sounds good to me.
  2. I see how ya are, don't even offer to let me send for some especially after the last bunch you got and I didn't even get a taste of it.
  3. I have the TRL76 Burley is talking about now and love it. I have caught a few fish on it and it handles them nicely and haven't had any worries of a fish coming off. I have a Curado 5.1 on it right now but am thinking of selling it and getting the new Revo Winch, fished a Revo for the first time this weekend and I am about ready to sell all and replace them with Revos.
  4. Was going with the 80 for really heavy cover and since it was supposedly only 15 lb. diameter it would have been great. Put P-Line Spectrex 50/10 on it and it works spectacularly. Had a 1/4 oz. practice plug on and could cast it 120' with just a wrist roll.
  5. This event is enough to make me rejoin the club each year even if I don't fish that many tourny's with them.
  6. You know the right person can make any place look good. 8-)
  7. Lebanon VA or TN? If VA it is only about 40 minutes away from us.
  8. Was a great day, I even picked the right spot for us to set our Burley's and mine nephew's and his neice, just using the wrong bait. The people next to us ended up weighing in 6-8 between 3 kids. Of course I don't know that I would have put a marshmallow and a night crawler at the same time even if I had them if I hadn't seen them doing it and catching.
  9. Not nearly deep enough for Flanagan, heck the shallows in that place are 30'. I guess you are reffering to how trashy it is. Flanagan is an operating room cmpared to this place. I forgot to mention how trashy it is and I am talking trash trash not logs and sticks and brush, ran by a basketball in the main lake and in a couple spots it was like a maze weeving through the trash on the surface.
  10. I don't know about anyone else but I have caught more fish on the RedEye Sexy Shad this year than I have on every other trap style bait I have used over the past 3 years. Most all of them have come on a reel and stop retrieve.
  11. Just go back a page or 2 and KoreaBass listed where it's been and how many fish were caught. I posted pics of 8 I got with it in KY.
  12. Pretty good stuff right there.
  13. Sounds like a good day, your biggest mistake was going out in a regualr bass boat like that now the only thing you will be able to do is try and figure out a way to get one.
  14. uhhh I mean InvisiBraid. I used 80lb. that was supposed to be 15 lb. diameter more like 25 lb. diameter and was supposedly from the name and description fairly translucent. This stuff looked like a rope in the water and I could barely get it to double through the eye of a 1/0 hook to tie a Palomar and then the knot was bigger than the hookeye. They say it is one of the thinnest diameter superlines, well 80 lb. PowerPro is nearly half the diameter. I got this to put on my new Carrot Stick/Revo STX combo (which is a gift from God btw) for topwater fishing. Don't see me using it for anything else unless I decide to head down to the river this summer with Burley and set a trot line or set some bush hooks for catfish.
  15. Hit Fish Trap lake near Pikeville KY on Sunday. Had a pretty good day nice to finally meet in person after talking on here for the past couple months. Was on the water about 6:30 very foggy couldn't see more than 50 yards not that big a deal just went slow and followed the GPS. I had been getting some good info on the lake from one of my vendors that lives about 15 minutes from it and our first spot was just out of the no-wake zone. Water temps were 64-65 at the first spot and their was a big laydown tree in 10-15' of water just off a small point. We started out with the topwaters hoping they would be on but no luck, I started throwing the Red Eye shad in Sexy and BigTom went to the soft plastics. We covered all 3 sections of the water column this way, I finally got a little one on the RedEye and nothing else. I beleive they were pulling water through the dam there was alot of current and chop but no wind. After the fog lifted enough we took off to the next spot a small inlet called Joe's Branch that was about 50-60 yards long. I stayed with the Redeye and Tom with the plastics with no luck. The guy I had been talking to told me that tubes were good and one particular color from Cabin Creek Baits so I grabbed the one I had rigged up and first cast to another laydown pine fish on, got it in and a real nice Black Crappie. Started back out fishing the less weedy bank, hooked into 2 more one in the pics to follow and one around 3 lbs. that broke off right at the boat :'( Tom switced to the tube and hooked into a small one and threw the hook, I missed 2 more that threw the hook. We went to the next branch stayed with the tube and caught one more small one and Tom had mentioned he had never had a fish break off yet when mine did. Well he hooked in a nice 3-4 lb'er and guess what happens, yep got his first break-off about 8' from the boat. Stayed out till about 3:00 without a whole lot more action but still had a nice day, bluebird skys and temps in the upper 70's near 80. Found water temps up to 72. The lake was stained but you could still see the RedEye down to about 8', up in the river the water got very muddy this was supposed to be the best place to go for numbers, I was throwing a little of everyting and told Tom to stick to the tube since it had been the producer and I wanted him to get one in the boat. I ended up with 2 more on a RocketShad spinner and Tom missed the hookset and lost a couple more. I will attibute Tom's lost fish and missed hooksets to lack of experience, he has only been fishing for bass for a year and the bite was very subtle. One of those days that you just have to have the experience to know when the right time to set the hook is when you can't even feel a bite just a little heavy and then you need to let them hold a sec after you feel it the first time. All in all it was not a bad day for the first time to a new lake that neither of us had any knowledge of till about a week before hand. Also need to add this was the first time I took out the new Carrot Stick and Revo STX. This is an awesome combo, weighs nothing and casts like a dream even when you mess up and put Spiderwire InvisiAnchorRope uhhh I mean InvisiBraid.
  16. Best advice, turn back now before it's to late and you get attacked by the BaitMonkey and find yourself telling the wife "I have to have a $400-$500 rod and reel combo".

I like AxMen jsut because of the content, I don't pay any attention to the conflict for entertainments sake they put in it. And as firefightn15 said I can't stand the other "reality" shows like Survivor. And ian515 you mentined Survivor Man being better than man vs. wild, well of course it is. Less doesn't have a crew right there with him to help him and doesn't cheat. I remeber one episode last year where Bear Gryls got caught when he was supposedly going through all these rough rapids with his backpack and you could see he had on a lifevest under his shirt. They also got caught going and staying in a hotel over night then going back out and filming like they were 100 miles from anything.
  18. Got the confirmation email myself, gonna be sent out Tuesday.
  19. Luhr Jensen HotLips Express 3/4 oz. or Norman DD22 deep diving cranks and not as hard on the pocket book for deep fishing the extra noise and vibration is better suited than a swimbait.
  20. Sounds like you may be tying it wrong or not wetting it before you cinch it, wetting the line with spit prevents it from heating up from the friciton caused when cinching it which leads to failure of the knot. I have been using the palomar exclusively for everything for about 7 years now and haven't had hardly any knot failures, have strightened quite a few hooks and clips with it though.
  21. Very tough situation, glad I have never had to face it. I am one of the lucky ones that found a great woman who loves the outdoors and understands my fishing addiction. She grew up going hunting and fishing with her dad and truly understands the fascination we have with it. The best advice I have heard was to try and get her involved more. Also you said your work schedule was weird and she may feel that any time you have off should be set aside for her if it is limited. But you are in a situation that y'all live together and you consider any time you spend together as time together, but women look at it differently and the only time they recognize as time together is time that you are alone and she is the center of attention with no distractions.
  22. Did anyone else notice how while fighting the fish he was constantly switching hands so he could release the spool and give line and then back to reel. Makes me feel that much better about fishing left handed and I never have to switch hands at all and am that much better prepared to set the hook and reel on those fish that hit the instant the lure hits the water. Oh yeah that was incredible.
  23. Sweet, makes me feel even better about picking Dish over Direct, had no choice to go with Comcast they said they couldn't run cable to my new house.
  24. And in only an hour.
