  1. I haven't had the success with these lures that alot of other fishermen have. I will say this, when they hit that lure they SLAM it. I usually fish it with a slow steady retrieve. Falcon
  2. I have caught bass from spring through fall with my X-Raps. I've caught smallies in water from 39 to 80 degrees with my hot pink and silver blue X-Raps, in clear and stained water. It's a very versatile lure. Falcon
  3. Well, I've had a flat top for many years. Now the part you probably didn't want to hear, I'm 58 and grandfather of six. Does that make me an old fart? LOL Falcon
  4. I always t-rig weightless or a 1/16 oz bullet. Falcon
  5. Very nice fish!!! I have to agree with the others, that isn't a brookie. I've caught many brookies and they didn't look like that. Nice job releasing so sombody else can enjoy catching it. Falcon
  6. Part #1- Revo S Part #2- Revo SX You won't be sorry. Falcon
  7. Next to all my rods and reels and boat it would have to be my Leatherman. If I'm using it that means I'm catching fish. Falcon
  8. The Rattlin Rapalas outproduce the Rat-L-Traps 10 to 1 for me. The Lake St. Clair smallies love the Raps. My best colors are the crome/blue and red crawdad. Falcon
  9. I've never used a 3" senko, but when the water is cooler or after a cold front I've used 4" senkos with very good results. Falcon
  10. I use a Duolock or Berkley Cross Lok's. Falcon
  11. Shad Rap (shallow and deep), Bomber Square A, Norman Mad N, Rapala DT series. Falcon
  12. Nice fish and pics. I've caught sea trout, I'd really like to catch the other species also. Falcon
  13. Robert, Glad to hear you're feeling better. Rest up the next few days and enjoy your trip. There is nothing worse than going on vacation and not feeling well, or having to cancel a trip. (I've experienced both) Go down there and give those peacocks hell. Stay safe. Falcon
  14. Here in Michigan, out of the last ten days we've set record highs on five of them. The last few days have been below average temps. All part of living in the north. It gets stranger every year. Falcon
  15. Here on Lake St. Clair, a 4# LMB or SMB is a pretty good fish. Anything over 5# is a lunker. In 53 years of fishing this lake, my PB LMB is 5# and my PB SMB is 6 lb-15 oz, both considered braggers here. Falcon
  16. I just got off the phone with my cousin. Him and his wife live in Trabuco Canyon. He said the fires are about five miles from their house, but the smoke is very thick. Right now they are OK, but they are getting important papers and some necessities together, just in case. If you can, please keep Gary and Marcia in your prayers. Thanks, Falcon
  17. Terminator T-1 3/8 oz. white or firetiger, double willowleaf silver blades. I was given a Strike King Premier Plus and it produced alot of fish also. Falcon
  18. I guess I'm the lucky one. My wife and I have an understanding, she doesn't tell me how much she spends on shoes and purses and I don't tell her how much I spend on fishing. I always know when she wants to go shopping because she asks me if I want to go to BPS. Falcon
  19. I don't disagree completely. Most of my crankbaits/jerkbaits are some variation of shad color.(American, Threadfin, Tenn., Shad) However I do have some colors that only produce in certain parts of Lake St. Clair where the water typically is a different color. I can fish for hours with those colors and not catch one fish, then I'll go to the certain parts of the lake and that same lure will catch fish. So, I think there are some conditions when color does matter. Falcon
  20. I didn't know such a thing was possible. Falcon
  21. I'm going to be in the Birch Run Michigan area 11/9/07--11/12/07 and I was wondering if there were any spots to fish the Saginaw or Flint Rivers from shore. Thanks, Falcon
  22. I agree with Micropterus, the steady retrieve works well with the X-Rap, although my most productive presentation is a sweep pause, sweep pause. Falcon
  23. Well, i'ts 72 degrees with a high of 76 for today. We better enjoy it because tomorrow temps are supposed to drop into the 50's and stay like that for the rest of the week. Now is when it gets ugly for me. The cold damp weather wreaks havoc on my metal riddled spine. Oh well, I'll enjoy my trip to Florida in February that much more. Falcon
  24. Lightninrod took the words right out of my mouth. Falcon
  25. Shallow = Bomber Square A, Norman Mad N, Shallow Shad Rap Deep = Rapala Shad Rap Lipless = Rapala Rattlin Rap Falcon
