I'm on my second Tracker. The first one was an old 1989 Pro 17 with a 60 HP Johnson/Evinrude. It was a riveted boat and it leaked like a sieve. It was my first boat so naturally I loved it, but it was narrow and unstable with two big men moving around on it. Plus it couldn't handle rough water. My new/used TV-18 is like a breath of fresh air. It is two feet wider and a foot longer than the old one. It has a modified deep-V, all-welded hull that will handle rough water with ease. It also has a 150 HP Mercury that will pull the boat along at 55 mph. Want to hear more? I have a Lowrance network installed that provides me with fuel level, water pressure, fuel consumption and battery voltage on the screens of my Lowrance LCX-28c and 522. In addition, I have installed a burglar alarm on the boat. Anyone who opens any hatch will set off the alarm. Also, all compartments have LED lighting. The LED's light up whenever a hatch is opened. Last, but certainly not least, I just installed a Minn Kota Terrova 80 with the new IPilot system. GPS control at its finest! OK, I've spouted off enough. Can you tell that I love my boat?

Pitchinkid, just say the word and you can have this job. A word of warning. It involves a LOT of hours ... and the pay really sucks. That said, I must confess that Glenn is very prompt with his paychecks. Every two weeks I receive a check for exactly $0.00.

FishnTN, my favorite place to stay is Fisherman's Cove, which is located on Williams Bay. The rooms are comfortable and reasonable. It has its own boat launch, covered slips, restaurant, bait shop and private bar. It's one of the few places on the lake where you can get a cold beer or mixed drink. The Lake Fork area is located in dry counties. A great portion of the lake is full of tree stumps but the boat lanes are marked with buoys. The problem is finding the next one before you realize you are out of the boat lane. This is particularly true on the west side of the lake. For a newbie on that lake it will scare the crap out of you if you plan on running WOT. The most accurate topo map I have seen for that lake is done by Atlantic Mapping (atlanticmapping.com) which provides GPS coordinates for the buoys. I strongly suggest you buy it. It has a wealth of information. As for lure recommendations, I suggest you do a search on this board for Tom Reddington's articles and posts. He is a well recognized guide on Lake Fork and provides excellent information.

K-Mac, It's my mistake. I made the assumption that the Fortrex was wireless steer and instead it's the old cable steer. My mistake. My apologies.

Microman, there is a monster who hides in the shadows of this board and is seldom seen. All articles submitted for publication are fed into his fangs. If your spelling, punctuation and grammar are not correct the monster will begin to chew your article. How long he chews upon it is up to you. If you have only a few mistakes the monster spits it out and the article is published at Glenn's discretion. If there are many mistakes then the monster simply swallows it and the article never sees the light of day. However, the monster is not an evil one, nor is he blind to the lack of education of the more youthful folks who wish to submit articles. Do not be afraid to submit your article, but be aware that the monster awaits.

I disagree with K-Mac. One end of the adapter cable goes to the TM and the other end goes to the head unit of the depth finder. The foot control has its own cable that goes to the TM.

Doesn't everyone drive their Ferrari in that manner? I know I do! Every time I put that car on the road it's balls out peddle to the metal.

I just upgraded to a Terrova 80 with the US2. I got tired of having the puck knocked out of alignment every time I hit a stump. Don't forget that you will need an adapter cable. That's another $35.

If I had the freedom to move anywhere I wished, I would move to either Lufkin or Nacogdoches, Texas. From either of those locations you are within a ninety minute drive of some of the best bass fishing in the world. True Lunker lakes like Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn and Fork (to name but a few) are all within easy reach.
