  2. I use to trick out cars before reels. These are more fun. Scratches don't bother me. They add charachter.
  3. FREE TACOS ALL DAY! http://www.slashfood.com/2008/06/23/free-tacos-from-jack-in-the-box-on-thursday/?icid=200100397x1204737836x1200212077
  4. modding reels is alot of fun. Take it from the Reel Mechanic, get someone to do the internal work for you unless you are COMPLETELY sure of what you are doing. I dont trust myself so I leave it to the pro's. The Reel Mechanic is more than qualified, I've sent him reels and have been very pleased with his work. Other than internal work, you can also get the reel casings painted or anodized. There's a few guys I know that can do great work for you. Good luck and enjoy the process! Looking forward to seeing what you get done.
  5. If "just catching fish" then why do you need a rod and reel for ? a coke can, 30 or 40 yards of line wrapped around the can, some hooks and some crawlers, that 's about all you need "just to catch fish". Amen Raul.
  6. Great pictures! I can't wait to get back down there this November.
  7. The BBS will get a drag upgrade only internally. After talking to D.R. He doesn't think it needs a bearing upgrade since I will be using the reel primarily with larger lures. Externally is a different story. I'm replacing the arm with a 90mm Steez carbon bent arm and Steez drag star. it will also get cork grips. All of the metal pieces on the arm side including drag star, drag star base and tension knob and base will get anodized purple to match the White Python. I'm contemplating anodizing the spool as well but not sure if it will hinder performance.
  8. So I bought a few reels in the last couple weeks. One of which, I am really excited about. Finally found a Red Pixy. Still not sure what rod this will go on, but I wont have to worry about it for a while. Added the carbon 90mm bassart handle and Daiwa corkies. Sending the reel out to turn it into a Pixzilla as well. Daiwa Big Bait Special. This reel is just awesome, I think it's hightly underrated and will be doing some very cool changes to it, primarily to match the rod it's going on, which will be my incoming Megabass White Python. It's also getting a drag upgrade. This is a "before" picture. I can not believe I found a "new" Ito 103M. I've seen many used reels on Ebay, with scratches, nicks, and what not. This reel has never been used. I think it's one of the coolest reels ever made. I upgraded the handle to a 90mm Bassart handle and am upgrading the drag as well. Love the colors on this thing!
  9. For what your intended use is this is the rod to get. I have one and absolutely love it. Paired with a Zillion 6.3:1. http://products.gloomis.com/gl/products/alltackle/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441768924&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032715&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181201&bmUID=1214324065103

  20. At last year's Brazil trip, a gentleman from the south was using the skitter walk and nailed a 22 lb peacock bass with it. That lure works everywhere.

  22. What are you using the rod for? One rod company does not make the best rod for every technique....
