You don’t really have to get a GoPro if all you want just take picture, Knock off would do just fine. The only problem is Selfie which harder to take and you might need a selfie stick. I have two, one for video and another to take picture when I’m on Float tube or kayak. Sample of picture taking with knock off. https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/fr/cp0/e15/q65/23130586_126793221370832_1228245855514994660_n.jpg?_nc_cat=103&_nc_sid=dd9801&efg=eyJpIjoidCJ9&_nc_ohc=R4f0I05frJUAX_SkA_p&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-1.xx&_nc_tp=14&oh=ce7aef60987d16a2e86a8c089c72b552&oe=5E988625 BTW, why do you need a water resistant camera? Most camera should be able to withstand some splash.

If you only want water proof camera, I recommend Action Camera like Gopro with 12-17 mega pixels. If you don’t want to spend money on GoPro you can get knock off one for 30 bucks. You don’t have to take video just take picture battery should last for day. https://www.amazon.com/GoPro-HERO7-White-Waterproof-Digital/dp/B07GDFTSPV/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?keywords=action+camera&qid=1584543645&sr=8-16
  3. Man I’m opposite from you, a lot of time, I get tired of bass jigging but never tired of crappie if I find them, of course.
  4. So a snag fish can be in record? Anyway the guy might have a fight of his life for that 2lb line and 67lb crap. I wondered how long it take before he can land that crap. I remembered snagged a 27lb crap and that thing pulled my Jon boat in circle. I would give up long before that guy, lol.
  5. There is no one better than other but combination of both, if you only drag you might get a sensitivity of the rod but hopping can also enchant the feeling and also determine soft or stiffness of rod tip.
  6. Yeah, get a bigger line and at least it will be a lot easier to fix the backlash lol ? #6 copolymer ~ .010 10lb invizX also .010
  7. Welcome here, I’ve never caught a small mouth bass before, congrats.
  8. Ultralight in term of reel weight, you would have to look for reel that the frame made of magnesium material, shimano aldebaran, Daiwa Steez, Daiwa Pixy. Second choice would be plastic frame. There are some aluminum frame reel that take advantage of aluminum gearing to save weight, Abu ALX or AL-F only 5.5oz.
  9. I don’t have any of the rods you listed. I’ve heard good thing of St Croix panfish series and the only one I might get in the future. Kuying Teton is another one that get a lot of positive feedback, I’m partial to Tsurinoya but don’t mind Teton if I have a chance, the Teton seems like target more of trout rod with a lot of parabolic bend while Tsurinoya is more like bass rod with stiffer backbone, I have 2 of Tsurinoya. I also like Presso in 6’ or shorter longer than that it feel noodle for me, I have Presso 5’6 and Spinmatic 7’. Other that I have Shimano Sensilite 6’6, this one fish more like Light with good soft tip but plenty of backbone, good for 1/16oz or more. Majorcraft speedstyle S63UL, this one is definitely a UL bass rod, good backbone with super soft and fast solid tip. I use this one for bluegill, trout and bass, 1/32oz trout magnet is good, heavier weight you will have problem with accuracy.
  10. Okay another deal for you guys, AL have Daiwa Procyon LT Combo with Daiwa Procyon rod for 139. The Procyon LT itself MSRP at 159 And Rod (old version?) about 70.
  11. I don’t like it on Jerkbait and lipless, the action/vibration is definitely toned down by a lot. I will definitely try on deep and shallow crank later on this summer. To me objection is not to add more action but to numb action down a little and will help slow down the fall or the rise. Im targeting crappie though not bass. The one you should try with feather hook is poppers and some walking bait.
  12. You are in SoCal, so you don’t really encounter a lot of fish mention here. My list that you won’t see my fingers in fish mouth. Catfish Trout All fish with treble hook in its mouth.
  13. Welcome another SoCal anglers, I always have a lure tie on ready for next day. I never loosen drag but I didn’t lock down drag either. As @WRBmentioned slightly tension or slightly wet the reel shouldn’t cause the reel to act like your described. When the last time you have the reel service? Maybe low on grease? Why rinse off the reel?, use in Saltwater? Try it a couple more time to see if the issue still there then might be the time to service the reel.
  14. A nice option of weighted wacky rig for me is to use eco pro tungsten wacky weight 1/32 and 1/16oz. I can adjust on the fly, changing from 5” senko to finesse worm and fish at the same depth or deeper. I also sometime just add split shot to the hook itself to add a little more weight. I still have quite a few of weighted hook but hardly use it anymore, owner weedless and vmc weedless are the only one I use.
  15. I like this ^^^^ and I may be also follow this format, only modification I would do is to put Jitterbug in the same category as #2 popper. I don’t fish a lot of top water these days but at least I’ll try to catch one in each these 5 categories. Whopper plopper is a nice addition to buzz bait and you can fish it slower, and poppers like rebel popper is also a more finesse than frog.
  16. Nice ?, I’m glad you got the big girl, on the other hand I’m struggling right here in the lake. The bass have been on bed since last week. A lot of young kid enjoy sight fishing and I only caught a small one of keitech 4.8.
  17. Gander outdoors has Rapala Ultra Light Rippin Rap 03 for $3.32. I added all color to my cart and lo n behold They don’t ship to CA. CA is nut first Academy wouldn’t ship to CA since last year now Gander.
  18. I’m in the same boat as 75yds or more especially on lipless. You can do 80 yds and save the rest for Leader. A question for you though, you try to save money by spool 3 reels with sunline Sniper. Do you think you need this $20 for 200yds line for Lipless Crank? I would save that line for something like bottom contact lure and get cheaper Hybrid line $6-9 for 600yds or even Big game line.
  19. No, no Fuego, I don’t wanna mess with Magseal. I know for sure I’m gonna be the one to service the reels and I don’t think we need Magseal for just regular bass fishing. I was gonna give him Stradic ci4 (2500) which match the Invoker but my wife say the reel looks too used lol. I think Procyon is better since he might do catfish more, his and my wife always get together for a glass of wine either at the park or on boat, so we can join them and not get bored, ?.
  20. The price is not an issue but just like you said, I don’t want Tatula to just sit in his garage unused. He said he wanna fish with me sometime but I doubt if he gonna get serious about bass fishing. I planed to buy Exceler and give him my Ark Invoker, but after checked Procyon with Zaion body and Aluminum Digigear I like this better. I’m just curious why Procyon is a lot heavier than Tatula 7.1oz vs 6.2oz. Maybe Procyon spool is a lot heavier than Tatula spool. Too bad I sold my Legalis otherwise I can weight the spool compare to Tatula. Is it possible that you can weight the spool of both exceler and Tatula?
  21. Anyone have experience with Daiwa Procyon LT. I’m going to buy one setup for our close friend for house warming gift since they are going to move into Canyon Lake per our suggestion. I’m not sure how much he know about bass fishing or how much he willing to learn so I’m gonna buy him just a nice, budget friendly type setup. I’m going to buy 2500 size reel since he can use this setup for both bass and catfish. I’m looking at either Daiwa Procyon LT or Daiwa Exceler LT. Now the Procyon use Zaion Frame and Aluminum Digigear which the same as Tatula but use Spool system just like cheaper models like exceler which use regular carbon frame and zinc gear. The weight is the one I question about, Tatula 2500 size is 6.2oz while Procyon and Exceler about 7.1oz. How come? Daiwa set up the price as Procyon is only 30 bucks cheaper than Tatula but 80 bucks more compare to Exceler. Anyone have any opinion of these 3 reels.
  22. Size 05 is perfect for those hungry slab.
  23. Nice lines. Lol Let this one be my official PB. First crappie on this Majorcraft speedstyle S63UL and a PB to start with. Also a new UL reel in the family.
  24. Another one for you and again you started the thread.
  25. Here a copy for you and you were the one started the thread.
